I have. Many characters do not have quotes, and if they do, they are either too short, full of spoilers, or they aren't actually things they have said aloud.

@sheep I think it looked awesome! But I will tell you that Tharatariel and I ran into a few snags and ours didn't last overnight either. Pinterest failed me but I think we've figured out what we did wrong. First, we shouldn't have used eyeliner as a base, that got in the way of the sharpie connecting right to our skin. Secondly, Pinterest said that you need to put baby powder on it, and then hairspray, but our mom was like "what were you thinking hairspray is known to REMOVE ink from things". So now we're going to try again tomorrow night, (now with a fine tipped Sharpie as well, so they'll be less ginormous) and we're JUST going to use baby powder. We'll update when we can! We're determined to get it to work.

BTW I think your design is awesome and you did a great job...your friends are mean.

I really want to do this too (with Sharpies of course) just to see what it's like, but I'm afraid that my hands are too shaky and I'd have it on me for a month.

We sorta used eyeliner first so we could draw it out (we used a photo reference) before we did the sharpie. Unfortunately, it seems like the combo of baby powder and hairspray to set it isn't working all that well (Pinterest has FAILED ME) so we may have to do touch ups tomorrow...

I definitely don't think I'd be able to do on myself! Your design is awesome though and if you have an artistically proficient friend or family member you should totally go for it.

Sooo @Tharatariel10 is visiting me (and our parents I guess) and we gave each other temporary tattoos with sharpies! Let's hope they actually last the month like there supposed to!

As a note for the Shardplate, officially there are no gaps, and in between the big plates are small layered ones like scales.  The way your drew it looks like there's bare skin showing underneath (I don't know if you intended it for it to be pants).  So now I'm a bit concerned for poor Adolin's inner thigh area, the bits that aren't covered by the codpiece.  

Thanks for the compliments and the artistic advice @sheep! I appreciate it. I didn't have any sort of reference on hand when I drew the Shardplate (I was both without book and without internet I believe) so I expected it to be a little inaccurate. Just to clarify though, that's not bare skin in the gaps, it's more of an undersuit thing. I guess I should have made more of a difference between its color and the color of his skin!

Honestly, I don't know if I'm remembering my first experience correctly! I'm preeeetty sure that I read Way of Kings first. It was recommended to me by a now former boyfriend around, oh, let's see....4 years ago? I loved it. Then I read Mistborn, and Well of Ascension, but I never wound up finishing Hero of Ages for whatever reason. I think it's because I started to read Way of Kings over again so that I could read Words of Radiance! I got all discombobulated. Earlier this year I read Elantris, and now I've re-read Mistborn and I'm working through Well of Ascension so I can finish that trilogy and finally read the Wax and Wayne books. I also took a brief break from WoA to read White Sand! 

I immediately connected with Branderson's writing style and his incredible ability to create characters. Not only do the books offer me endless hours of entertainment, but they also fuel my creative inspiration for art. 

After I broke up with my boyfriend who is a fan, almost three years ago, I basically suffered with all my feels alone because the Tumblr community of fans wasn't that big back then and I didn't know this forum existed. So when I told @Tharatariel10 to read Way of Kings this summer, I was secretly hoping that she'd like it enough to blab to me about it. After a few weeks of daily phonecalls, 6am texts, and lots of "AAAAAAAAAAAAAUGH"s, I've created a monster. Now I'm not alone anymore! 

Next step: converting Tharatariel's husband...we've got him started on White Sand!

Thanks @Hitoshizuku!! He's definitely a hard one to capture...I'm glad you think I was successful! 

Haha my personal image of Adolin is him having sidecuts/undercuts on his hair, with cool designs shaved into them. I thought it would be an interesting way to show his interest in fashion, and maybe a more frivolous side, while still being acceptable for battle and court.

One of my focuses on my current reread is my strange reaction to Navani: one part of me sees her as she is described, another part of me just regards her as a stone-cold woman - in defiance of the facts. I haven't yet reached a definitive decision; I have a few ideas but will hold back until I'm through. What I can say already is that her relationship to Dalinar is part of what makes me dislike her. Navani as an independent person might work for me - Navani as Dalinar's love interest just - doesn't.

It is certainly always interesting to watch our different reactions....

Hey everyone! I had an idea to offer free coloring pages of Stormlight art, and when Vin snuck in there I figured I should just plan on doing ones for all the Cosmere. 

Please keep in mind that this is my first attempt; if/when I find a more efficient way to present them (maybe as full page pictures, better quality, etc) I'll probably update this issue along with any later ones that may come out. 

A lot of my inspiration stems from Tom Tierney, an artist who makes historical fashion coloring books for Dover. I'd love to get better at these and in a perfect world, maybe Branderson would let me publish an official Cosmere coloring book! But for now, I'm content with these.  Print 'em out, share 'em with your friends! And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send me pictures of your coloring!!

My take on this is FAR less well thought out and well worded compared to @Tharatariel10's reasoning. I'm just a raging Shadolin fan who sees a realistic relationship between Shallan and Adolin that's being very well handled. I also feel like too often in fiction relationships are presented early on just to be overturned for the more dramatic option, and a lot of times the reasons behind the change of heart (usually one sided, I'm looking at you rom-coms) doesn't really hold up under a lot of scrutiny. I'm positively giddy at the idea that we might potentially get to spend eight whole books exploring a romance...it would allow for a lot of development and interesting content without needing to be rushed or pushed to the foreground lest we forget it exists in the middle of all the other turmoil happening. 

As far as Kaladin goes, in the simplest terms I just don't feel like he needs a romance. Never while I was reading the books did I feel like that was missing from his character, and I never felt a desire to read a romance involving him.  Only time will tell I guess!

At least we can all agree that Dalinar and Navani are the greatest. 

I can't speak for Warbreaker, Mistborn Era 2, or The Emperor's Soul yet, as I haven't gotten to them yet, but it seems like Hoid has a much more prominent role in Stormlight than in the first Mistborn Series or Elantris. In the latter, he's only there for a scene or two, as a mysterious informant or beggar, respectively. I wonder if White Sand will keep him shrouded off to the side, or if we'll see a more prominent appearance a'la Stormlight. My guess is no, only because of the shorter nature of the series, but who knows? It's just so unpredictable. 

So glad you posted this @Tharatariel10/big sis! And thanks everyone for being so nice...It took some convincing on my part to get her to put this out there! I can tell you that Dalinar's theme is coming along awesomely, and it's my favorite out of the bunch so far.

Hello there! My name is Teresa, but most people on the Internet call me Esa because it's a much cuter and more endearing nickname. I've been a fan of the Cosmere and Brandon Sanderson for about four years, ever since I read The Way of Kings for the first time. Recently, I've been doing my best to read all of Brandon's books, even though I'm not a very proficient reader anymore (college and adulthood have kind of taken their toll on my time management). So far I've read both Stormlight books and Elantris, and now I'm working my way through Mistborn for the second time (though I never finished the trilogy...I dropped it for some reason halfway through Hero of Ages!). I've also gotten my older sister to read Way of Kings, and she's halfway through and completely addicted!

Recently I've been trying to put myself out there on Tumblr as a fairly consistent artist for Cosmere stuff, mostly Stormlight. I thought coming here would help that! I'd also like to be in the loop for news and theories about Stormlight 3...I'm going a little crazy waiting for it!

So yes, this is my eager, very very newbie-esque introduction. I hope I can dedicate at least a LITTLE time to this forum before real life and junior year of college takes over!
