I have noticed that there are several Mormons on 17s. On one of the topic threads, one guy showed how he decorated his Trek bucket by spelling his name out in Aons.

What to Read Next?
Physicist of the Cosmere replied to KnightRadiant's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I really enjoyed Sanderson's short Infinity Blade. It's not Cosmere either, heck, it's actually based on a video game, but the story is really good and compelling. It's available as an e-book. I got mine off of Amazon.- 12 replies

Oh, I've heard about the Reckoner's RPG, but I still appreciate the warning. I've also heard to stay away from the Dark Alley.

Yes, that as well as other things. It's just that I'm Mormon, and I like to avoid that kind of stuff.

But if the soulcast meat chunks have a vegetarian real-world counterpart, what about the gravy? If this is the kind of stuff that comes from a street vendor, then it would make sense that they would use the drippings and grease as much as possible. Then again, I don't know much when it comes to vegetarian cuisine, so maybe there is vegetarian gravy.

Sanderson "Would you Rather"
Physicist of the Cosmere replied to KnightRadiant's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
I'd take the second option and just not use my time-jumping ability. I don't want to watch my friends and family die Would you rather be locked in a room for an hour with a Voidbringer or Sadeas?- 954 replies

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Physicist of the Cosmere replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I live in southern AZ, where there is a lot of rocky terrain with hardy plant life. There are also the intense Monsoons that happen every year, along with the occasional dust storm, where you can see the wall approaching, and you have to get home and get inside before it hits. Sound a bit like Roshar? Yes, yes it does, and I am immensely happy about that. Edit: I got a little excited with my commas, so I fixed that. -
The sexual stuff. I was very much not comfortable with it. Also, I'm super-duper sorry, but I accidentaly downvoted you. I'll upvote you on another post to balance it out. Edited: Because storm it, I'm out of upvotes again. I pinkie promise I'll do it tomorrow.

I read Mistborn and loved it. It was so different. I started reading Hero of Ages, and the inappropriateness bothered me too much. It frustrated me because of how well-written the book was, and I wanted to know more, but I decided it wasn't worth how uncomfortable it made me, so I happily sold my soul to the Stormlight Archive instead.

What Are You Watching?
Physicist of the Cosmere replied to Silverblade5's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. Watching this, I realize that Aragorn closely matches what I imagined Kaladin would look like. -
Okay, confession time. [deep breath] I don't know anything about shards. There. I said it. All I've heard is about Odium from the SA, and from the last WoK review by CassJayTuck on YouTube. She's great, by the way, you should totes check her out. Of that, at least, I'm not ignorant. But i digress. Are the shards explained through an interview with Sanderson, or is it from a book? Just answer that and I'll work my own way further into Cosmere nerd-dom. Many thanks, and may you feast on chouta and bay-wraps.

Esra Zsherishkar here. I've not been to Earth for some time, so I thought this would be a good way to catch up on current events. Also, I understand that Terrans are badly educated when it comes to extra-terrestrials, so maybe we could both benefit from this. A question for a question, perhaps? I suppose I should start second, given the forum name.

Sweet! I'll be starting my physics major soon, with an emphasis in Astronomy. We should start a thread where we can geek out. -

Very well, you are granted this knowledge. However, you also gain knowledge of any and all deaths of major characters that will happen in the rest of the SA books, how they die, and the events leading up to it. I wish Starfleet was real so I could become a science officer and travel around the galaxy. -

Kaladin and What Sadeas Is Not
Physicist of the Cosmere replied to IntentAwesome's topic in Stormlight Archive
My main concern when I read that scene was how it would affect Adolin's relationships. At this point, it's very clear that the murder is not overwhelmingly Radiant-Approved. The fact that Adolin immediately tried to hide and cover up the murder is only going to make things worse. He could become estranged to the Radiants, which include his father, his only brother, the girl with whom he's had his first successful relationship with, and his loyal-guard-turned-sort-of-acquaintance who is also most likely to steal his girl. I'm not saying he's going to become all-out evil and turn against them (Or maybe I just don't want to consider that) but I'm worried that it will affect him in a very, very bad way. Sanderson wouldn't pull this kind of thing without it having at least considerable repercussions. -
Theory on Kaladin's parentage
Physicist of the Cosmere replied to vikramadith's topic in Stormlight Archive
Overall, I agree that Kaladin's parentage is as said in the books. Even without all the evidence given against the theory, there's also the fact that that's just not how a Sanderson plot twist works. He leave small, subtle hints that you don't really notice, until the truth hits you like a shardhammer to the face. When I read the plot twist at the end of Way of Kings about the Parshmen and the Parshendi, I could barely keep quiet because of how much I was freaking out. This theory just doesn't have that. -

My mistake, I shouldn't have assumed that everyone is from Earth. Also, despite how much I love the Stormlight Archives, I'm a little uneducated on the different shards and such. I appreciate the offer of cookies, but I think I'll pass, just to be safe. -

Who doesn't love Shallan? But I gotta say that Kaladin outranks Jasnah on my fav-o-meter. Jasnah's still cool though. -

Words of Radiance. No contest. I didn't quite expect to get sucked into a 10 book series with 1,000 pages each, but it's not the worst situation I've gotten myself into. -
Just reread WoR for the first time
Physicist of the Cosmere replied to frozndevl's topic in Stormlight Archive
When I got done with it, I immediately re-read my favorite scenes because, let's face it, 1,000 pages is a lot to read twice in a row. My all time favorite scene goes from when he talks to Zahel during The Weeping, to when he gets to Urithiru. While renewing his Oath was very powerful and epic, I was also struck by the raw strength and desperation of "You.Will.Not.Have.Him!" If they ever dare to make a movie, that is the one scene that has to be perfect. Also, while re-reading that scene, it also struck me that Kaladin probably has Seasonal Affective Disorder. In the normal world, people get into a funk during either the Winter or the Summer. In Roshar, since the seasons tend to fluctuate a bit more often and more unpredictably, it makes sense that Kaladin would always feel depressed during The Weeping, but not during any other change in weather. However, given his Windrunner awesomeness, it's also likely due to many of the reasons Kaladin himself states why he dreads The Weeping. There's no wind, no life to the storm, if it can even be called a storm. I'm sure he gives more reasons, but I don't have my Kindle on me right now to dig up those quotes. -
Although "Terran" would be a more proper term. Anywho, fingers crossed, I'm hoping this won't end up like Tumblr where I wasted half a year away, and when I finally looked up from the computer, I had F's in half my classes, I had become distant to my family, and I had grown a beard. The beard was especially shocking, seeing as how I'm a girl. I just wanted a place where I could chat with people of similar interests and hopefully see some cool fanart for the works of an author who is sadly underrated.
