  1. I get the CD thing. For me it's Penguin - they're a little erratic, but they're also acting consistently. I like this analysis. I do agree that the self-exe isn't really helping the elim team and does seem like a villager who gave up. This is the vote count with Returned (Trusting KSOS here because I still don't know Returned) BBB (5): Coder, BBB, KSauce, Willshaper, Windrunner KSauce (1): Penguin Coder (3): Araris, Doc, Aman Penguin (2): TOW, Stoneward Araris (1): Hoid Slayer I'm willing to entertain E!Araris theory. But I don't think we can realistically exe him in the last few hours before rollover, given who I see active. Even if Aman and I jumped, which Aman already says he doesn't intend to, it won't be enough to exe Araris. Ronight is going to be a case of making sure someone we want to die die, and I think CD is a viable enough E! partner that I'm willing to let my vote stay on them. EDITED THOUGHTS: I think, given the state of the current cycle, that BBB is innocent because of how long the vote has stayed stacked on him. If he's Elim, there's no reason for him to stay in the lead for this long when Araris, Aman, and I are willing to vote on someone else. It seems more likely that our top two suspects KSOS and CD just attached themselves to the vote and called it a day
  2. Response to Araris Alright Araris, I went through your posts again so I could understand why you were suspicious of me, and from my understanding it comes down to you thinking 1) there must have been an Elim voting on Twinstorm c1 based on activity, and 2) The Elims don't actually want a Twinstorm kill c2 Vote counts c1 Araris Valerian (2): The Unknown Hammerer and IcedOut Penguin BigBadBagsworth (2): Twinstorm + returned Doc12 (2): ThatOneWorldhopper + returned The Unknown Hammerer (5): Araris Valerian, xxGaea, Amanuensis, Hoid Slayer + returned TwinStorm (4): BigBadBagsworth, CoderDrag0n8, Doc12 + returned I'd just point out I was the first to vote on Twinstorm here, based on actual suspicion of being the third vote on what looked like a pile, and then I left for my trip, which is why I did not change it rest of cycle. Vote counts c2 Big Bad Bagsworth (3): Twin Storm, Hoid Slayer, + returned Kaladins Sense of Humor Spren (3): Doc12, Araris Valerian, + returned Twin Storm (4): Kaladins Spren, Coder Dragon, Bagsworth + returned It's been already said by someone in this thread, but apparently the Twinstorm vote held pretty strong c2 until last few hours when I got to hop on and place a vote. I thought by that point Twinstorm was reading strongly village and at first tried for a tie, realized that didn't work in this game, and went for someone I actually thought was acting weird. Current Thoughts Honestly based on what's happened so far, BBB is looking less Elim because that self-vote play was pretty silly when there was only 1 actual vote on him. I don't think that's something potential Elim teammates would have told him to do, as I'd expect them to be actually keeping count together. Worldhopper finally came in and voted... on Penguin, based on wanting Penguin to vote on who they actually found suspicious. I feel like Penguin has been pretty straightforward about their thoughts. Honestly not sure what to think of this right now. I do think Penguin's trust of me over TOW is a little unwarranted given both our levels of activity (or lack thereof) but they have been pretty clear about their thoughts this cycle. Seems like a quick skim vote. Based on posts this cycle, I think I'm actually more willing to exe CD than Ksauce, though I am very willing to exe them both and will switch to guarantee an exe. For both of these players, it's the unwillingness to actually commit to any broader reads and more commenting on game mechanics than actually analyzing. And for CD especially it's the defensiveness and weird tone. Current Vote Count, as best as I can gather, not actually counting Returned yet because I don't know seniority of Willshapers. BBB (2): CD, BBB KSauce (1): Doc, Worldhopper (1) : Hoid Slayer (Windrunner) CD (2) : Araris, Doc Penguin (1): Worldhopper (Stoneward)
  3. Can't quite tell which of those options is the one consistent with your last statement I said Monday because I thought I was going to be back much later on Sunday than I actually was (I was at the PA Rennaissance Faire today, it was a lot of fun) The bit I was specifically referring to was when you said my LG30 play was RPing and chiming in with helpful thoughts but not actually committing + your reference to Araris re:distancing where you said distancing was about airing out some suspicions but not actually following through. So yes, I thought you being very active and helpful this cycle but not actually locking down a suspicion or voting was suspicious.
  4. Hello friends, I am finally back in my own home! Prepare for a lot First of all, Araris, c'mon. I mentioned from the very beginning that I was going to be out the entire weekend due to IRL reasons and brought it up in cycle 1. Maybe that was on me for playing a game where I knew I would be inactive for a couple cycles, but I feel like I communicated that as best as I could. Alright, going by players. 1. ThatOneWorldhopper. Senior priest in our court. Has popped in at the beginning of every cycle to make a comment, but otherwise seems not very active in thread. The only thing I have on them that might be alignment indicative is that in cycle 2 they made a comment about how I was very quiet and wondered if that was a sign of me being active in another doc. Our Court has honestly been very quiet, so to me this didn't feel performative, and seemed like genuine wondering. 2. Penguin. Honestly, I like Penguin. In our doc and in thread, they expressed that they didn't think the Elims caused the Cycle 1 switch from Twinstorm to TUH, but thought that the Elims were involved. The way they've been acting re: strong opinions that they refuse to really elaborate on is kinda consistent with their playstyle last game, but it's honestly NAI for me. 3. Aman. Oh Aman. I like and respect you a lot, I really do, but I'm sensing some hypocrisy in this thread Aside from your vote on Hoid Slayer that you rescinded promptly, you have been very nice and discussion heavy this cycle, but have not actually voted on anyone or come to any conclusion. If there's an elim between you and Araris, I am leaning more towards you. Who are you actually going to vote for this cycle? 4. Ksauce. I voted on KSauce last cycle. Similar to Penguin (And honestly I think Penguin just took what I said in the doc and repeated it) I thought the surge in activity and grasp of game mechanics new to me when in past games they generally seemed quiet and confused. And yes, as they pointed out, they were evil last game. This post feels a little weird to me. I remain suspicious because of the strong interest in trying to figure out Courts and Court/Seniority mechanics when Hoid Slayer confirmed that wasn't something they discussed in doc. I don't trust them for now. 5. CD. Coming up a little blank here. Inconclusive. They claim their highest (and only) e!reads are Twinstorm and BBB. They voted BBB a few times before switching, claiming it was because they didn't think BBB was going to be exed. Honestly don't know. 6. Hoid Slayer. Really like Hoid Slayer. You're working very hard to analyze things and have strong if/then reasoning. 8. I like Araris, apart from being slightly miffed about your suspicion of me. I am all for being suspicious of me for things I've actually done, but my impression is that you're upset at me for the way I parked my vote on Twinstorm early on, and that I've been very quiet. 9. BBB. Uh. Confused, especially given his recent vote just as I was typing up this post. I did dislike the way they were so focused on Twinstorm, but given the flip it seems weird. I like Aman's thing. So here. players I kind of trust Hoid Slayer, Araris, Penguin players I want to to trust but don't quite yet. Aman Players I would happily exe right now Ksauce, BBB, CD, Worldhopper Of those four, the only one that really rung any alarm bells is Ksauce, but I'm willing to change that after another sweep through D2 and considering pairings.
  5. Answer to some questions: I am stoneward, one of BBB and CD are in stoneward. Secondly. Hoid Slayer has KSauce been asking these questions in the Willshaper doc? Because those are very specific clarifications and I wonder if those are questions the elims are interested in. BBB KSauce
  6. It sucks that there aren't more people active (and I'm one of them but I feel like I telegraphed my absence early last cycle) I'm going to vote for BigBadBagsworth because I think TwinStorm is innocent for now and I want to see what happens if there's another tie.
  7. Hi! I have internet for the next 2 hours while I'm out for dinner being antisocial! (thank you hoid slayer for being the only person who read my post) Vote count: TwinStorm (3): BBB, KSOS, Hoid Penguin (1): araris BBB (2): TwinStorm (Bondsmith) From my quick skim, I really like hoid slayer and TwinStorm for their detailed if/then analyses I believe there's little point in keeping my court secret. For interests of the solve, I am of Stoneward. Penguin is also in said Court. FWIW, They said the same thing about being suspicious of the vote switch but believing TwinStorm and TUH to both be innocent. I think I like TwinStorm purely based on their actions this cycle where they tried to get BBB to come out with any other reads. Though based on my last game with them it's a little NAI The main voice for exeing TwinStorm is Hoid slayers analysis. I will put in a vote I'm just very not supposed to be on my phone right now and I'm just grabbing bits and pieces
  8. Sorry, is my vote that hard to read ? That's twice now people have claimed I haven't voted?
  9. (Typing this in the car) Funny how you said I didn't vote when I was the first to vote on Twinstorm Edit to avoid double posting: My reasoning for voting TwinStorm is the same as hoid slayer, where it seems like just a quick read and pile on an existing vote. @TwinStorm I agree with hoid slayer being aware of the vote count now are you going to change your vote ? (Aman can decide if this happens before or after Evi speaks to Kosm) Evi was just returning to their quarters when they felt a sudden, insistent buzzing by their ankle. "No." She murmured, picking up the pace. The buzzing continued, and the world around her began draining of color. "This is not a good time" She begged. A single white sun in the sky, a precipice into a sea of beads. Buzzing that was starting to sound like words. "No, not now, my God just died, I just met someone, I - AAAA -" Already in the sea of beads, her feet struggling to tread water. "I don't even have enough Breaths to survive long in this place! Puzzle, you ass!" "You're being summoned," the symbol-headed creature finally spoke. "Hope you didn't leave anything too important back there. I'll bring you back, but it may be a while..." (See you guys on Monday!)
  10. Forlorn lover it is! Something about Kosm... Not her appearance... the voice? the mannerism? Evi could imagine? remember? the voice soft in affection, shrill in anger, delightful in mirth... Something about Kosm drew and repelled Evi in equal measure. Whatever they had, it didn't end in peace and bliss. Could they have poisoned the Returned? What poisoned whatever they had had together? Either way. She had to know. Had to get closer. "Kosm!" She hurried up to the other priest. Sketched a quick curtsey. "Greetings, my name is Evi - I'm sorry to intrude, but I thought you sounded...familiar. May I ask, which Returned do you serve?" Actual analysis time, there's... not really much? 1) Araris starts an Iced vote. 2) Hoid Slayer starts a Polly vote. 3) Worldhopper throws out a probably randomized poke vote on me. 4) CD poke votes Hoid Slayer, then retracts. 5) Aman shows up and joins the Polly vote, starting the first actual pile. 6) BBB puts a new vote on Hoid Slayer. 7) Iced votes Araris back 8, I poke vote on Aman 9) Twinstorm brings the Polly vote to 3 10) Aman switches their vote to Iced So first of all Aman In terms of gut reads, there's not really much. Worldhopper is doing a randomized vote which they did in the last 2 games I played with them. CD is kinda following the crowd. Iced is poking back when poked. I think the only thing that really jumps out at me is Aman and Twinstorm jumping on to make the Polly vote 3. (Aman switched their vote away to make a tie, which is something I enjoy doing myself) Gaea, appreciate a fellow vote-counter. Araris, nice to play with you again, you're a little scary but that's part of the fun. Aman, look forward to RPing with you. Joe, it has been forever, glad to be back!
  11. Well As If, I'm sure everyone will say they liked your old nose more! (Evi jumps As If and punches them :D) Evi doesn't trust Kosm. Something about them, it was like memories of past lives together where they had...worked together? killed each other? They were the only person she half-recognized from times before her memory.
  12. Ah what the hell count me in as Evi As I told Aman I'll be out 4-7 September so if you're OK with a cycle or 2 of inactivity I'll be happy to play
  13. Stars, in their multitudes/ Scarce to be counted/ Filling the darkness With order and light/ You are the sentinels/ Silent and sure Keeping watch in the night/ Keeping watch in the night Javert floats, untethered, above the purelake. Beside him, a being. A tear in space, a glimpse of starlight. A highspren. "What will you do now?" Asks 24601 "Uranihran's game is over. The killers released into the wind under some city's code." "Legal, under the rules that Skybreaker Uranihran established." "So long as laws are absolute, but people are flawed, the law is only an ideal, one we will always fall short of making into a reality." Javert murmurs. He hadn't seen Greeblas among the bodies, although Uranihran claimed he had been executed. Still. The man had spoken wisdom. "Mortals are always flawed. You suggest the law will never be perfect?" "We are flawed. Our overlapping codes are flawed. But the reason I live today is... is because I have been shown mercy twice over. Once by a criminal I pursued across the country, who had every reason to kill me where I stood." "And that conflict killed you." "I... yes. Justice restored me, brought me to this new world and promised me a beautiful, perfect law. Rigid. Sure. I find myself...dissatisfied." He looks towards the spren. "Given these traitorous thoughts, I am surprised you still chose me." "Something about you fascinated me, man from another universe. I saw in you a break, a soul torn apart by justice and mercy. I... at the risk of revealing too much about your future ideals, I would like a law that accommodates both." "You can tell me about the next ideal, yes?" "The Ideal of Dedication. What will you dedicate yourself to, Inspector?" "I... do not know. We just established the law as inflexible. And people too flexible." "I confess. I should be hurrying you among your oaths that our bond may strengthen and our power grow. And yet this introspection is... comforting. Take your time, my knight. Let us consider our first act as a Skybreaker." "Well that is easy." Javert smiles darkly. "There are killers loose. Fallen from God and grace. Justice be my witness, I never shall yield till we come face to face." Kaladfin, Booknewt. Starseeker. "An Elsecaller and a Lightweaver. They will be difficult to track, especially if they move through Shadesmar." "I hunted a man across an entire country over the course of a decade. You will find me indefatigable and thorough." "Very well, Inspector. Impress me." And so Javert, a bright dot of light, streaks across the sky, for a moment looking like a star himself. ------------------------------ Well that was a fun game! Thanks to Aeoryi for running it! I am so happy that you allowed Javert to bond a spren and play a role at the end! I do kind of agree with Twinstorm that the roles didn't get much of a chance to come into play, but it just made the game a nice old-fashioned game of seemingly-roleless mafia in the end, which isn't a bad thing. It came to my attention in the dead doc that no one really knew who Javert or 24601 was, which is sad Long story short he's a character from Les Miserables who pursues a prisoner (name Jean Valjean, prisoner number 24601) because he escapes parole. 24601 exemplifies second chances and mercy, and when he has Javert at his mercy spares him, which causes a crisis of conscience and Javert taking his own life - and coming to Roshar where he swears the second ideal Good job Elim team, @TwinStorm You played really well, so much that you were low suspects for both me and Pizza. Special shoutout to @Booknewt for crushing their first game! Especially on a road trip! Your third cycle really showed why you deserve to be here with your calm arguments and reasoning (and your deception)! @KaladinsSenseOfHumorSpren Nice job as well! Thanks to @The Unknown Order and @Hoid Slayer for keeping me occupied in the dead doc - we really went from having 1 page in the dead doc to 19 in less than 24 hours! @CoderDrag0n8 Sorry for all the suspicion when you had no idea what you were doing, but I really felt I saw you grow as a player over the course of 3 cycles. Keep at it! I've said this many times but @Askthepizzaguy You are an amazing player and storyteller, and I thoroughly enjoyed playing with you. You're a formidable ally and would make a terrifying enemy. I respect the dedication to the craft and your endless patience in expounding your principles. I think the most impressive thing you did was not your analysis, but the fact that several times in the game you were able to talk to an antagonistic or upset player, turn down the temperature, and have a reasoned and calm discussion where you helped them sharpen their analytical skills. That's very special. I had fun you guys! Let's do this again.
  14. If I die tonight I want everyone to know that Javert was gonna attract a highspren named 24601 that is all
  15. I respect forcing booknewt and kelsier apologist to vote, and the fact that you've basically proven yourself, but isn't a guaranteed hit better for the village at this point?
  16. Likewise, there's always the possibility that you've completely fooled me and are just laughing at us chasing our own tails, but you've honestly done the bulk of carrying the discussion when as an Eliminator you really didn't have to. So either way I respect you. If either of us dies tonight, I hope to see you in more SE games! Also cool! Tie again! Hoid Slayer (3): CoderDragon8, StrikerEz, Doc IcedoutPenguin (3): Hoid Slayer, Twinstorm, KaladinsSenseofHumorSpren CoderDrag0n8 (1): Aeternum Doc12 (1): IcedOutPenguin Anyone feel like tiebreaking?
  17. Thank you to people who are defending me? I don't really see how I can defend myself against IcedoutPenguin. I'm just letting my actions speak for themselves. Interesting to see the vote shifts. Aeternum followed me on to CD. Striker wanted to lock down Hoid Slayer. Iced moved to me. We're now in a tie situation again. I'm very willing to break the tie I am just genuinely confused now. Seems like the consensus on CoderDrag0n8 is he's too suspicious to be suspicious/he's just new. That seems to be as much discussion as I can get from voting on them. IcedoutPenguin... I mean I don't understand where you're coming from, but right now I'm viewing you as harmless and confused. Hoid Slayer, again it seems too easy. But yeah. Let's see how this plays out. I really want @KelsierApologist @KaladinsSenseOfHumorSpren and @Booknewt to tell me who they're actually suspicious of and vote. I want you to know I respect you so much for trying so hard to work with people and get them to articulate thoughts I also appreciate Twinstorm and Aeternum for being so active this cycle and voting. Current Vote Count, 3 hours before cycle end Hoid Slayer (3): CoderDragon8, StrikerEz, Doc IcedoutPenguin (2): Hoid Slayer, Twinstorm CoderDrag0n8 (1): Aeternum Doc12 (1): IcedOutPenguin
  18. This feels too storming simple. The thing that worries me the most is the absolute lack of defense that CD or Hoid Slayer are receiving. And maybe that's just the lack of people talking, but it shouldn't be this simple, right?
  19. Hey they could try and kill me since you just called me de-facto town leader, you're not that special Do kind of agree with CD being TWTBW (Too weak to be worthwhile, for anyone else who had to look that up) I am just curious if there was any other reason we shouldn't exe them or just leave it a tie again with Hoid slayer/CD
  20. I don't want you to die I want to discuss morality with you more But yeah shoot. I try to live each cycle as if it's my last and post thoughts before the end anyway.
  21. Hoid Slayer (2): IcedoutPenguin, CoderDragon8 CoderDrag0n8 (2): Twinstorm, Doc IcedoutPenguin (1): Hoid Slayer
  22. It's been a quiet cycle. I'm worried that there's not been much defense of Hoid Slayer by anyone. It feels like last game, where Aeoryi, a villager, soothed her own vote on a tie situation, and then for the next cycle everyone focused on the wrong person while the elims sat back. Honestly, I tried to parse what IcedoutPenguin was saying in their post and came out confused - as I said, they started out with one assumption, invalidated said assumption in one of their scnearios, and then ended up voting for a third party not related to any of their original assumed suspects. That confuses me. And it confuses me that Ksauce, CD, and Twinstorm apparently do understand the reasoning. I honestly don't feel good voting for Hoid Slayer in this situation. Recapping my current reads for clarity and reflection Current Reads, positive to negative. Also, Greeblas, Javert respects that you assume everyone starts out innocent until proven otherwise. But as a former lawman, Javert assumes guilt first and makes people prove their innocence or helpfulness. Pizzaguy/Greebas - Strongest town read so far. If they're elim, they're really shooting their team in the foot by trying to encourage discussion. Who are you voting for this cycle? @Aeternum: Been a lot more active this cycle. I might be stupid for this but I'm honestly leaning him village for now. His post about me being elim if Worldhopper was elim. His helpfulness this cycle. Who are you voting for this cycle? @TwinStorm: Pretty active last cycle poking people. Posted once this cycle being skeptical of IcedPenguin's post. Net neutral. EDIT: Voted for CD which makes him more interesting @KelsierApologist/Mehlarin: Seemed pro-discussion cycle 1. Has not posted this cycle. We miss you! CoderDrag0n8: Seemed to be voting for the sake of voting. They're new. I get that. But I'd vote for them again just to see what happens. Hoid Slayer/Wishikk Makar: We all agree that that last minute jump was extremely weird. I'm still inclined to keep voting on you just to see how you flip, but as I said, I'm uneasy. Confused villager or panicked elim? IcedoutPenguin: Confusion. I was suspicious early last cycle, but right now they just seem to be extremely confused. They were also surprised at the 2 kills, which could be an act, but genuinely seemed to not understand the rules. I am honestly leaning Village, just confused and lashing out. @KaladinsSenseOfHumorSpren: Couple of posts. last post was saying Iced's post made some sense but still refraining from a solid conclusion. Honestly leaning negative until they convince me otherwise. Can we get a vote from you? @Booknewt: New, a couple of posts. Made a post with reads on players, mostly reading everyone neutral. 50/50 shot here. Do you think you could update your reads list based on happenings this cycle? @StrikerEZ you coming? I'm honestly not concerned about Striker right now. As Aeternum says, there's an inactivity filter, and I think shooting someone who isn't contributing hurts us more if they're village as it just doesn't give us any new information. They have up to the end of this cycle to post before they get replaced. ----------- Hoid Slayer CoderDrag0n8 Let's debate this people!
  23. Current Vote Counts, 7 hours and 30 minutes before rollover: Hoid Slayer (3): Doc, IcedoutPenguin, CoderDragon8 IcedoutPenguin (1): Hoid Slayer It's a little concerning that no one else has really voted this cycle. And while I stand by my vote I don't know what I think about Penguin and Coder's reasonings for joining said vote. I personally find this pace thrilling I think Long games with the 48 hour days and 24 hour nights can feel extremely slow, especially when there's not much to discuss at night. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Javert walks to Greeblas. "Mon ami. You sat, calm and collected, even when an uncertain noose tightened around your neck. Refused to condemn a youth, even one who has acted in a way that could justify that condemnation. Refused to try and save yourself." He falters. "I was certain. I added my voice to the throng. And while I did not vote for Worldhopper, an innocent still died. Blood on my hands." "I used to think mercy a weakness. A failing. And then a man, a thief and a lawbreaker, who had every reason to kill me...spared me. And that tore me apart." "How do you reconcile mercy with the law?"
