  1. Both atium and lerasium are the bodies of gods/Shards condensed into physical form, known as god metals. This is why they are paired together.

Did we already find out what metal is combined with Atium to make Malatium?

    BRANDON SANDERSON (17 OCTOBER 2008)

I might have said somewhere in the series. I can't remember. It's gold.

Malatium is an alloy of atium, but from the Ars Arcanum we know that god metals can be alloyed with all of the metals to create even more than just the sixteen. Millions of possibilities.

    Does this help?

@KnightRadiant  I think I might go for Stormlight next, then. I've seen A LOT of praise for them, but haven't read any content about them whatsoever, aside from the names.

Okay. They're really good, and best read when you know the cosmere. I reread them just for that purpose. On a side note, you have heard of the cosmere, right?

@KnightRadiant Sadly, no. Just the Mistborns up until BoM, but I don't intend to stop there! My friend told me the Steelheart books are really good, so I might read those next. Any other suggestions?

I would recommend the Stormlight books. They're my favorite, but Mistborn is a close second. Out of the cosmere books, that is.

Are/were all the Five Scholars Returned?

    BRANDON SANDERSON

    Yes.

Can you give any history on Denth? I don't know what he did as one of the Five Scholars. ...

In short, Denth is a Returned.

Also, since this is your first post, welcome to the forums :)

(Sorry, bad uses of the word ruin and metallic cookies are kinda how most of us warn the newbies.)

I am KnightRadiant, aaaaaand I'm not entirely sure what I do on the Shard, but it somehow takes up a lot of my free time. It's Shardic magic.

Hope you have a nice time reading! It's my favorite past-time. But you know, if it weren't, I might not be here. :)

And here I am. I expect this forum will suck a considerable amount of time from my week, so hello everybody!

Currently I've read everything Cosmere-related but I'm nowhere near as knowledgeable as some people here are. I'm really interested in any tidbits that I might have missed or any cool theories.

I recently messaged Brandon for a copy of the unpublished White Sand novella, fingers crossed:)

    Have a great week,

    Alex

Welcome! Have an upvote, no cookies attached. I am (usually) KnightRadiant, and we're glad to have you :D

I asked Brandon for White Sand, and read it in maybe two or three days. Definitely worth the hassle of scrolling back down to where you were every time you open it...

Anyway, if you need any tips or advice, feel free to Personal Message me.

Aaaand as usual, Bleeder made it here before everyone else. *silent applause*

  7. Avoid the cookies. At all costs. They cause... Ruin-ment? ...Never mind, that didn't really work.

Anyway, welcome to the Forums (and other fun stuff)! Have an upvote. Also, I like your display name.

I'm pure. I'm a goat and stuff. I'm so storing pure I practically belch goats.

I'm going to eat their goats.

  9. You don't need to post this here. You could post it in General Brandon discussion, for instance. Just, you know, for future reference.

As to your first question, not including his short stories or novellas, it's well over twenty. But including those it's over thirty, at least. You could count them on his site, if you wanted to know the exact number.

I don't know about his favorite book, but I know his favorite magic system. He prefers Mistborn. (I could be wrong on this, seeing as he answered that a while ago).

    Hope I helped, though I doubt I did. :)

  10. Oh wow... I've never... just, wow. I will definitely pay more attention to things that relate to this now. Even if this proves to be false, I don't think I'll think about Adonalsium the same again.

Ah, this just goes to show my ignorance. (Cosmere knowledge, why must you defy me?) I've got nothing to add, but I sure would like to see what other, more knowledgable people, have to say.

  11. I've never really had a problem with profile/cover pictures. Maybe because, instead of dragging it, I'm saving the file? You could try that...

Edit: then again, I haven't changed my pictures in a while. I changed my cover photo as soon as I could after the site was updated, which like a month or so after cuz my profile was acting up... (long story, involving frantic emails to Chaos).

I think I rediscovered that I could read after Way of Kings...

I've always liked reading, but reading Brandon's books is like getting to have your cake and eat it too, and then having a party with friends you haven't seen in forever. And then having more cake.

Also, REALLY jazzed about the recent news with DMG Entertainment buying the Cosmere rights!

I found out yesterday! I'm so dang excited!!!
