  1. Dang, didn't find this topic till now. Can I join? I probably suck at describing myself, but I'd like to try.

And @dead-moth you are absolutely amazing at art!! I'm an artist myself, but I usually suck at people. :P

I'm gonna go ahead and describe myself...

    Spoiler

I'm female, and not super tall. I'm 5'4".

Hair: My hair is mostly straight with a kind of "bouncy" quality to it. It's super thick and curls at the ends. I part it on the left, and usually tuck it over my ear on the same side, but let it hang over by my face on the right. It's pretty long, coming down past my chin about eight inches. It's also dark brown, but I'm not sure how useful that is in a black-white drawing...

Face: My face is angular, but not sharply. It's sort of round-ish, but not in a chubby way. I'm not super sure how to describe it. I have a small-ish nose and almond shaped blue eyes. I tend to smile a lot. Mostly with teeth, but only barely showing.

Other: I usually wear a t-shirt with a loose, zip-up jacket and a pair of jeans. Again, not sure how useful that is. I tend to twirl my hair a lot. It's not a nervous habit, it just... happens. I'll just find myself with hair wrapped around my finger, not really sure how it got there.

I'm not certain how useful this was, but hey, I tried. :)

I have an infinite amount of questions regarding the universe. I have little to no understanding of how this Hoid character appears in multiple books. I don't understand the history of the universe (though I know vaguely from conversations with my friends about the splitting of the shards, though I do not not what caused this)

If you can give me a brief rundown of the history of the universe (without spoilers, of course ;)) I'd be eternally grateful. Or point me to where I can read up on it!

Sure thing!! I think you're referring to the cosmere, so here's a link to a thread all about it :). It has spoilers, but only for the ones you've read, I think.

I have decided to make an account here because Way of Kings is the best book I've ever read. My friend pushed me to read it and I have to admit, I was a bit reluctant at first. However after reading the first couple of Kaladin chapters/his struggles with bridge 4, I blew the the rest of the book very quickly. Since then I've read Words of Radiance, Elantris, and The Final Empire/Well of Ascension. I am currently reading The Hero of Ages, and am beyond hyped for the release of Oathbringer.

Stormlight is king, but Mistborn is proving to be quite extraordinary as well :)

I'm KnightRadiant, or KR. I echo Shqueeves warning about the cookies. Just don't eat them and we can live in Harmony. (Cookie related Shard puns are a must when welcoming a new member :P).

I've been warned about people like you with your cookies. Well, really just the cookies.

    I'm proud.

All of them except White Sand, which I have not gotten yet. The first Cosmere book I read was the free version of Warbreaker before it came out, if that gives you an idea of how long I've been reading Brandon's books. I've spent most of my time on Scadrial and Roshar, so I probably know the most about those planets. I'm not sure how useful I can be; everyone here seems steeped in WoB, which I have not really had access to until now. But if you want long, incoherent rants about quantum mechanics, I'm probably your guy.

Awesome!! I only started reading Brandon's books earlier this year, so you've probably noticed more things than I have.

Hi, I'm supposed to introduce myself, I guess. I'm just a guy who has been reading and theorizing about Brandon's books for a looooong time. I consider myself a Physical Chemist because I was trained as one, but I work as an Analytical Chemist. Gotta pay the bills. In my free time, I like to read and play/mod video games. Super exciting, I know. That's about it.

    Welcome elezraita! Have an upvote!
I echo bleeder's warning about the cookies.

I'm KnightRadiant, or KR. What books by Brandon have you read/theorized about?

  6. Welcome Meganagem! Nice symmetrical name!! Have an upvote!

I'm KnightRadiant, or KR for short. I love SA, and cannot wait for #3!! Have you read any of Brandon's non-cosmere works? By the way, please avoid the cookies! They Ruin lives.

Enjoy the site, hope to see ya around!!

    Hi everyone,

All of you here can call me animus (it's not my real name but it's what I use for all my online gaming accounts). I basically got hooked to Sanderson's works after I read Elantris, following which I did a bit of research on Cosmere and I admired him even more.

    So far, I've read

    • Elantris
    • Mistborn Trilogy
    • Steelheart & Mitosis

    Started reading Warbreaker yesterday.

Don't take the cookie!! It will Ruin your life!

Now that I've done that, welcome to 17th Shard! Have a (cookie-less) upvote.
I'm KnightRadiant, or KR. I recommend the rest of Reckoners. They're really good. :D Have you read the Wax and Wayne Mistborn books?

Hey Riah! Welcome to the Shard. Guess I'm a little late getting to this, but that's what I get for living in Utah during ski season...

    Have an upvote!

I am in high school, but hey, the Shard is where age doesn't necessarily matter :)

I've been to London, and can I just say, you have some really beautiful architecture.

  10. Welcome to our insane corner of the internet filled with bad Ruin puns and cookies! You'll fit right in. :)
