These are the books I suggest: KingKiller Chronicles: Amazing prose, great magic system. Light bringer: Many people compare brent weeks to bran san. But in my humble opinion brent weeks is no where near as brilliant or as masterful as Bran San. That doesn't make this series any less enjoyable, each book get successively better. wheel of time: Bran San rose into fame because of finishing Wheel of time. Though characters can be incredibly annoying, this series (atleast so far I have seen) is liked by most bran san fans. The magic system is incredible, the plot is nice and the world building is brilliant. Powder mage Trilogy: Some one once asked Bran San who he'd want to finish cosmere if he can't. He answered it would be Brian McClellan. That's all I needed to read this series :'D Hyperion Cantos: I know, I know you wanted a diverse magic system and this is a sci-fi. But among all the books I've read so far only this and dune come anywhere close to Bran San's worlds. I am not a big fan of Dune, but hyperion is amazing! Especially the world building, do read. If you want anything grim dark you can try Malazan, First law trilogy, Any of Mark lawrence's novels, the blood song trilogy.

You must be a strong Rithmatic line because your shape is perfect. Are you stormlight? Because you make my heart race. Are you burning iron? Because you pull me right to you. You are more precious to me than atium was to kelsier. When you left me, the heartbreak was enough to make me an allomancer. Are you a returned and am I your sacrifice? because you take my breath away. My love to you only waxes, never wanes. Is you heart metal? Cuz no matter how hard I try, I can't awaken it to like me.

SPOILERS FOR ALL BOOKS: The known worldhoppers, atleast the ones I know are these: Hoid: Also known as wit (and tons of other names), he is present in all cosmere novels so far. Every single one of them. No one knows what his end goal is, though there are many theories. For now he seems to roam around cosmere collecting all magic systems and generally interfering in all major events. (For more info read up on drifter in secret history). He is from Yolen. Khriss: The most knowledgeable in cosmere. She roams around with nazh travelling to various worlds and doing research. She writes ars arcanum at the end of every novel. She is originally from Taldain. (Has been to silverlight) Nazh: Khriss' assistant. From theonardy. Seems like a cool dude. Galladon: From Sel. He has been seen in Roshar with Demoux and Baon working for 17th shard looking for hoid. Demoux: Originally from Scadrial. He married a woman who worked for 17th shard. He has been seen in Roshar looking for hoid. Baon: From Taldain. Vasher: Originally from Nalthis. Badass dude with even more badass sword. Very knowledgeable in cosmere. He visited Roshar once and built nightblood based on the shardblades there. He has been to Roshar atleast one more time ( he is zahel in Words of Radiance). Other scholars also came to Roshar when Vasher first came to Roshar. Mraize: One of the prominent members of ghost blood. He collected souverniers from various cosmere planets (look up in coppermind for entire list). Iyatil: Mraize's teacher/sensei. She is one of the hunters in southern Scadrial, at least culturally. She wasn't born in Scandriel. She is interesting because she is from three different planets/places. Culturally from Scadrial, born in Silverlight, lives in Roshar. Ire: A group of worldhopping elantrians. Secret history for more info. A kandra worldhopper (don't know who), some terriswoman who was seen as a nurse in warbreaker, felt (A spy from Scadrial, currently scout in Roshar) Look up on coppermind for more info!

Welcome to the shard! Now all I can think of is going through water like a jet skii x'D

This is actually really interesting! What would hoid do if some spren intiated the process of bonding with him? Is he cruel/hard enough that he would abandon the spren for his purposes? ( I know he said he ewill destroy the world to get what he wants, but still.) Or will he rather just find a way to free the spren from roshar and allow it to travel everywhere with him? while I don't want this to be a significant story arc for hoid, I would still be interested in reading about this.

Adolin's actions at the end of WOR
Reborn radiant replied to Reborn radiant's topic in Stormlight Archive
I completely agree with @maxal here. Adolin had done too much already! One of the most badass scenes in WoR is from adolin (2 v 5 shard bearers). Adolin gets more and more attention and focus, he is made more and more likeable. So, I , as a reader, expect more from adolin as books progress. At the very least Bran San has to give Adolin as much importance as he has given them in the last few books, decreasing his screen time will be a bad thing. Especially after WoR. Increasing it is optimal. But I also believe it can be done without him becoming a main character per se. He can remain a side character and still be given importance. as for the other I don't think the idea is baseless though. Consider this: Rock is a side character, lopen is a side character, gaz is a side character. Adolin is ALSO a side character. See what I am getting at? What I mean to say is that for someone who bran san thinks shouldn't be an important character, Adolin has done too much, has been given too many PoV chapters and what not. IMHO I think that is outgrowing his role. -
Adolin's actions at the end of WOR

This single point is enough to shatter all my dreams T-T Great analysis! I didn't mean in the sense that he would go on and kill a lot of people! I meant that he would go and PROTECT a lot of people. He would protect patches of people, isolated or otherwise, from voidbringers and stuff like that. Ideally that is, I am not really sure it is within realms of possibility. I didn't think this many people wouldn't like adolin being vigilante kinda character though. I don't want Jasnah to be rogue at all. I'd love to see her being badass and all, but I also like her best when she is in the middle of everything, pulling strings to make people dance and such. -

not yet. But him killing sadeas in the end, and Dalinar's potential punishment may break him enough. -

Wait, Is this confirmed? I thought only time skip we will get is after book 5. Isn't eshonai seperated from other parshendi by the end of the WoR though? I think Eshonai is going to on a character arc herself, the one who eventually breaks free of odium's influence and works against odium. I don't think it will be good to have the story arc burdened with Adolin too. I really like the third one, but I was going more along the lines of a rogue Shardbearer who does badass deeds like what ever you mentioned, but his end goal is not to free his shardblade, but more along the lines of saving his family by doing the dirty work. May be he uncovers a plot line or may be his end goal is just to go to kholinar in disguise and help matters there. -

Adolin's actions at the end of WOR

(I am sorry for making two seperate comments, but when ever I quote things from two different pages, they open up in two different text boxes, I can't seem to figure out how to make them come in the same box!) One of my biggest predictions for Oathbringer is that Adolin is going to be exiled. Only then will Adolin be free from his father's shadow, or most likely free from the image he created for himself. His time alone might help him come to terms with who he is and everything, and separation from Dalinar will most likely make Dalinar realize what mistakes he has been committing towards Adolin. Moreover, I think Adolin will become a radiant - or atleast, a rogue shardbearer who does badass things - and for any character to be influential they need a strong character arc. Adolin hadn't one so far. Being holed up in Urithiru, I don't think will let Adolin grow or be free from what he has done. He needs to move away, roam around, think and find himself. Hence Dalinar exiling him makes most sense for me. He won't be relenting his control , he won't set him free, he will just tear his ties with him, if only temporarily. This is just a prediction though. I have really high expectations for Adolin, I am going to be terribly disappointed if he doesn't get the screen time he deserves. But Bran San keeps telling that he is only a side character, and that scares me a lot. -

This, I completely agree with. Eholkar has a ton of faults, but most of them could stem from him trying too hard and not succeeding enough times. May be Dalinar is seeing through him and hence he supports him wholeheartedly, but I agree that is very flimsy. But I don't think it is completely guilt like @maxal says. It is most likely a combination of both. -
We do know this: It is very, very hard to affect any invested object with allomancy. Be it feruchemical metal minds or shardblades or invested shardplates. So, I do not think it is easy for an allomancer to affect shardplate. As for emotions, I don't think so. We have no reason to think it will protect the wearer from emotional allomancy. Or if there is one, I am missing it.

Normal human, as in any person from Cosmere? Yes, they can absolutely. But, the requirement is that, they should have a strong connection to the shard they are going to hold. For instance someone very violent and destructive with no intentions to preserve cannot hold preservation to a satisfactory extent.

Adolin's actions at the end of WOR
Reborn radiant replied to Reborn radiant's topic in Stormlight Archive
Holy rust, I can totally imagine this event matching "Eholkar was Dalinar's Tien" moment in WoR . I, for one, think that Eshonai's book and Szeth's book will hold out as the most interesting solely because their pasts will be way different from Kaladin's or Shallan's or Dalinar's. I am dying to read Szeth's pov to know more about shin and Eshonai's for more info on... everything! -

I know. That is why I included to Dalianar in the end Once again. I am not saying Adolin's actions go against the first ideal. I am saying Dalianar's outright acceptance of it is. The ideals and their meanings depend on the perspective of the radiant. To someone like Dalianar, this would be against first ideal -
It is intentional. And the narrator is a Dysian aimian. Remember Axies the Collector? He is a siah Aimian. We do not know much about Aimians except for the fact that their nation was purged very recently and everyone thinks they are voidbringers and bad luck. But we do know some powers of Dysian Aimian and Siah Aimian. Spoilers for edgedancer if you haven't read already Welcome to the shard! I hope you have a nice stay here!

Adolin's actions at the end of WOR
Reborn radiant replied to Reborn radiant's topic in Stormlight Archive
aren't you forgetting a main ideal tho? Journey before destination. IT doesn't matter that the end result - that of sadeas dying - is morally just. It also matters how the result was obtained. A radiant should prefer honorably punishing sadeas, with proper formality and everything, not killing him off secretly. You know, just the same reason why Kal didn't want to kill eholkar that way. If you have to kill someone, kill them in broad daylight, for the right reasons yes but also following the right rules and regulations. No matter how much political or practical gain Dalinar can garner by making it seem like it was a justified punishment, the act goes against the Journey before destination, atleast as far as Dalinar is concerned. To Adolin, It is not much of a problem because in his view he had been on this journey - the one that was going to end with him killing sadeas - for far too long. But Dalinar just doesn't think that way. -
Adolin's actions at the end of WOR
Reborn radiant replied to Reborn radiant's topic in Stormlight Archive
What you are quite forgetting is the fact that Dalinar didn't have any power to 'punish' sadeas or amaram legally. Sadeas is a high prince, more over punishing him would have meant breaking the kingdom down. Amaram belongs to sadeas' princedom. Dalinar has no authority to punish him. If dalinar goes about punishing people as he sees fit, what use is Eholkar? Eholkar is already a weak king, Dalianar being even more assertive than he is now will make him even more weaker. More over, what would be the difference between what Adolin did and Dalinar punishing others without power? Quite simply, Dalinar didn't punish Sadeas because he couldn't. Yes he could have waged a war, but to what end? Dalinar had his eyes set on dealing with problems of parshendi and undermining sadeas the legal way. Not the otherway around. It is a chip on his shoulder, yes, but not as big as what you guys are making it out to be, I think. I can't see KR ruling any nation. KR is essentially a mercenary unit. I can't see them being in power much longer after Desolation ends. -

Agree. But I do think Dalinar can be quite strict, especially now that he is directly the head of anti-everstorm force. He is used to taking hard decisions so I think he will be soft anymore in Oathbringer. I do not see how he can excuse Adolin though. It is something Dalinar wouldn't approve of, and what more it sets a precedent that murder is acceptable. Adolin will be in trouble. I agree with you in that we do not know clearly how it will affect Dalinar, but form a purely practical PoV, it is going to cause him a lot of trouble. NOW THIS. Now this, I can't believe I missed! Yes. This is true. This actually makes more sense than my interpretation of those actions :"D -
I won't be surprised lmao. One major thing I am looking forward to in Oathbringer is Hoid's story to Kaladin. Both WoK and WoR had hoid telling amazing stories to Kaladin. Maybe in oathbringer he will return and tell a story with that flute again (and possibly hit him on the head with it)

Truthwatcher. Fits with me. Given chance I would have chosen bondsmith, but Truthwatcher fits me too. I am not probably going to be badass, but I am the kind of guy who talks much but says little of importance which I think could be equated with not speaking anything at all. So, yeah. Great job with the quiz!

Besides any other route is more or less impossible because we know for sure that urithiru is not an althlea, and no one even knows it's location anyway. I don't think Shallan figured out a new way either, it will be waaaaay too fast. The only thing I can think of is what you said you can't imagine. Kaladin and Shallan taking large groups of people together at pre-specified times. Like public transport. I am probably being way too stupid, but that is the only answer I can come up with.

Agree with everything you said. I didn't mean to say that Kaladin and shallan being exactly opposites was unnatural, I was more along the lines of such couples are veeeeeeeery rare.
