  1. This should be correct: Mist (3): eltruT, Illwei, TJ Shade Elkanah (2): Amanuensis, Whysper Devotary of Spontaneity (1): Ventyl eltruT (1): Mist Illwei (1): Araris Valerian
  2. The HI cannot by default, but it could technically be a Hemalurgist as well I guess.
  3. Looks like the Shard did something weird and included the ] as part of the link. Should be fine now.
  4. One ship, 24 crewmembers, some traitors, one Hemalurgic Intelligence. What could possibly go wrong? GM Notes: -The day will end on October 24th, at 5:00 PM EST. -Remember that there is no vote minimum, and that ties are random. -If you need a vote count, just @mention me and I'll give you one ASAP! -little wilson is the impartial moderator for this game. -If you did not receive a GM PM, let me know ASAP! -Remember that PMs are closed during the day. -Sorry for the slightly late start, I was far busier than expected today and didn't have enough time to set up PMs and stuff beforehand. 5. Sorry, class ran a bit bit late for me. Thread and PMs will be out ASAP.
  6. For anyone who misses those old pending.me.uk countdown timers that don't work anymore, I think I found a good replacement: 1. Go to https://countdownmail.com/timer/create and create an account (just use a throwaway email or something). 2. Set up time, formatting, etc. 3. Click on "save timer" and then click on "embed". 4. Copy the gif link in the embed (ex: http://i.countdownmail.com/plqhp.gif) 5. Use bbcode to insert the image into the Shard. For example: [img=http://i.countdownmail.com/plqhp.gif] becomes
  7. I'd definitely cap it at 30 players, since more than that would be kind of annoying to run. I'll probably cap it at 25 if we get there, since I'd prefer more pinch hitters over more players at that point. The elim team size won't necessarily be a set percentage of players. I'll just create a distribution based on whatever the numbers end up being. Only the Hemalurgists know the number of Hemalurgists. Yeah, there's usually not a limit on the number of players. You only know that there will be one Hemalurgic Intelligence. Everything else is up to distribution. Game size has dropped a bit over time. Older games had an average of 26/23/19 for LG/MR/QF player numbers, whereas newer games have had an average of 20/18/18. There'll probably be a lot of players for the AG though, and that's just a few months away.
  8. The elim Hemalurgists can access it, but the HI cannot.
  9. Experience is correct. For most roles, there could be any number from any faction. The HI is the exception, in that there is exactly one person with the role and they are always a traitor.
  10. I forgot that Experience was a mechanic and I got really confused as to why you started referring to yourself in the third person part way through.
  11. Yeah, if anyone wants to spectate, just post in the thread. I'm not sure if I'll actually have pinch hitters, so I'll put you down as a spectator for now. Glad to see someone from another forum. I think I've run across a few people from FoL in the Mafia Championship spec chat. It's funny to see Marson spreading around as a format. I'm planning on running it here at some point.
  12. I've GMed two games that Illwei played in. In both games, he randomly got a healer role. RNG = random number generator.
  13. Seven weeks ago, you left port from First of the Sun, with Silverlight as your destination. Four days ago, your captain was found dead. Stuck long away from your destination, your only hope is to kill the traitors on your ship before they overwhelm you. Basics Factions Roles Welcome to Long Game 71! I am the GM for this game, and @Matrim's Dice is the co-GM. @little wilson is the IM. All credit for the original ruleset goes to @Wyrmhero. This game is an altered rerun of LG15.2. Lots of stuff was changed though, so don't go by that ruleset. A list of changes and clarifications can be found here. If you have any questions, just @mention me. Signups will end on October 22nd at 5:00 PM EST. This will probably be the normal rollover time. RP Background: You're working on a trading ship in the far future of the Cosmere, with workers from a variety of worlds. Feel free to make up stuff about future society and magic! 14. Thanks for running this, Experience! It was very fun! Good game, all.
  15. So, I just went through Elkanh's posts, and here's what I found for reads: Mild Village: Illwei Mild Elim: Straw and Windrunner Elim: Matrim, Jester, and Ashbringer I think there's a decent possibility here that all of his reads were just village. I think Matrim is cleared from this, and probably Ashbringer and Windrunner as well. Looking at Elkanah's final post, I think this pretty much confirms that he was just making up stuff to mess us up there. He has several swings from his previous reads, such as putting me and Windrunner as village. turtle's posts are less helpful, with the only real reads being him reading Matrim as elim and then village. I think this further confirms Matrim as a villager. Looking through the remaining players, my target pool is definitely Kings_way, Gears, and Frozen Mint. Out of the inactives, I guess my vote would go to Kings_way, since he has one kind of suspicious post vs Mint's entirely NAI post.
  16. I was looking back at Gears' posts, and found them extremely suspicious. I decided to put my vote there in case he's an elim and the elims purposefully didn't submit a kill. I also wanted to give @Kings_way and @Frozen Mint some time to speak up and say something. I'm also kind of coming around to the viewpoint that they purposefully didn't submit a kill, or that it was a mistake (I.E. everyone thinks someone else was supposed to submit the kill), given how Elkanah was around at rollover
  17. I was listing the possibilities as they appeared last cycle, not this cycle. The connection is that if the Nightmaw was released, then it means that when there was no kill, there was no kill submitted. This means that either the elims purposefully did not submit a kill, or they weren’t around to submit it.
  18. I said there was an elim in the inactives, which other people have also said. You've said it yourself. I just don't see why me bringing up inactive elims means that I'm an elim. It seems like a very convoluted way to justify your vote. I also don't think the suggestion that the elims are active, but chose not to kill is very likely. They'd be trading off one kill on a person of their choice for the possibility of one or two kills on inactives that the village can get reads from. It just doesn't make sense.
  19. I think Gears was under enough suspicion there that a bus was the best option for him. it'd make sense for him to bus turtle and "clear" himself rather than going for Windrunner and then probably get voted out today. True, but I think there's a decent chance the elims would have gone after an inactive if he wasn't pushing Gears. After all, all their other kills have been on inactives. The issue with your theorizing is that none of it is specific to me. You could substitute other people in and it would make just as much sense. I agree, but in this specific scenario I find it suspicious. My main point was that it seems like Gears was trying to set up a misvote on us, and he'd need to suspect both of us at some point in order to do that effectively. I also think it's suspicious because he only really talked about us. It seems like he was just swinging back and forth arbitrarily so he could look like he had reads that were changing over time.
  20. The issue isn't that Gears won't vote for other people, it's that he only discusses me and you. If you look through his posts, the only thing he said about turtle before dropping a vote on them was that they were more likely to be village due to them asking a question in the thread. Just look through his posts: #1: Mechanics analysis. No reads. #2: More mechanics. No reads. #3: Benefits of killing people. No reads. #4: More on benefits of killing people. No reads. #5: Looks at everyone's posts but lists almost everything as null. Reads on me and Reading. #6: Discusses events of last cycle. Reads on me and Matrim, but "notes" Ash. #7: Asks Jester to share thoughts and talks about my reads. Reads on me (also has "reads" on Windrunner and Jester, but they're just null reads). #8: Mentions suspicion of me and Matrim, thinks at least one of us is an elim. Reads on me and Matrim. #9: Continues to discuss suspicion of me and Matrim, reiterates that at least one of us is an elim. Reads on me and Matrim. #10: Releases me from suspicion, still finds Matrim suspicious, finds Illwei suspicious for OMGUS reasons, mentions tendency to tunnel. Reads on me, Matrim, and Illwei. #11: Mentions continued suspicion of Matrim, thinks Elkanah should be left alive for one more cycle, mentions tendency to tunnel. Reads on matrim. #12: Analyzes Elkanah's posts and concludes that me or Matrim are elims. Thinks that Matrim is more likely to be village. Thinks that Ash and Illwei could be anything due to "paranoia". Reads on me and Matrim. #13: Looks at all my posts and reevaluates suspicion. Votes on turtle. Reads on me (vote on turtle is also kind of a read, but isn't explained). #14: Trusts Matrim, distrusts me, mildly trusts Windrunner. Reads on me, Matrim, and Windrunner. I think that Gears is highly suspicious if you just look at his posts. Some common themes that show up in his posts: Reads on me and Matrim, but almost no one else. He might throw something else quickly, but nothing compared to his focus on me and Matrim. Repeated assurances that there is one elim in me and Matrim. Switches suspicions between me and Matrim frequently. Repeatedly mentions his paranoia and tendency to tunnel. All in all, I strongly feel like Gears has been trying to avoid giving reads on his teammates, and has been trying to set up misvotes on me and Matrim. I think that his plan was most likely to get one successful vote on me or Matrim, and then when they flipped village, lead a vote train on the other person. Gears' repeated suspicion of Matrim and me could be used as justification for his first and second vote, and he could shore up the second vote with his past statements that one of us is an elim. Afterwards, he could attempt to defend himself by saying that he was just tunneling. Also, I think it's worth noting that Illwei was suspicious of Gears, and I think he may have been killed due to that. I would also like some more explanation for the votes on me. So far there has been very little.
  21. It implies an inactive traitor since there was no kill last cycle. The only reasons there would not be a kill are: Nightmaw attacks Hidden player No kill submission due to inactivity No kill due to an elim trying to fake inactivity I think that the second option is most likely, as the third option doesn't benefit the elims very much. It is very suspicious to me that both Frozen Mint and Kings_way have been on the Shard recently, but have still refused to post. If they really are village, I don't see much reason for them not to at least post something. I'd also like to call further attention to Gears' extreme focus on Matrim and me. I find it incredibly odd that they only have reads on Matrim, Windrunner, and me this far into the game. I'd appreciate if they could give some reads on literally anyone else.
  22. Huh, I was not expecting that. Also, looks like there’s an elim in the inactives, given that the Nightmaw was just released.
  23. Sorry for the double post, but doesn’t look like a Gears vote is going to happen. I think Windrunner is the more suspicious candidate.
  24. My main complaint about Gears is it seems like he’s been very focused on me and Matrim. It feels like a way for him to manufacture analysis. Also, it felt like he was trying to set up for a vote on us before this cycle.
