  1. That tends to be, unfortunately, somewhat normal for him. Still, you make a good point and an outside perspective may be helpful. Let's see if we can generate some discussion on this. Sarah Straw
  2. Hey Renoux! I'd recommend Elantris next. It's a really good book. Oh, and if you haven't read Secret History you should read that immediately after BoM By the way, you don't have to introduce yourself multiple times unless you want to, since those of us who check out this section have probably already seen your first topic.
  3. So, I apparently have a litter of feral kittens in my back yard, and my dog is very interested in them. This could get bad really quickly

  4. Somewhat inspired by Oversleep's meme above:
  5. When you catch a frisbee between 2 hands and get excited that you pulled off a lastclap
  6. Honestly, I completely agree with Orlok's remarks on D1 discussion about whether the lynch should occur. Still, though, it seems like most of the suspicions with any form of logic behind them (meaning non gut-reads) are based on support or lack there of for Sarah. Despite me not being inordinately suspicious of her, I feel lynching her could either dismiss those suspicions or lend them some credence, so I feel like we should actually target her for the lynch. Sarah If I'm missing something blindingly obvious, I just got home so I've only been able to scan pages 3 and 4. I'll start reading them in depth now. Edited to recolor vote
  7. Welcome to the forums! I was actually thinking about making a Mistborn trilogy myself at one point, but I couldn't find a good enough number of relevant clips. I can, however, reccomend a song for usage in it; Superheroes by the Script is nearly perfect for the trilogy in my opinion
  8. One con to not doing a day 1 lynch is that unless you get a significant number of village on board with abstaining, an opportunistic eliminator could easily hijack the lynch by voting on a player who had attracted minor suspicion and 1 or 2 votes. I say we either go for it or don't, since an indecisive "coin toss" vote basically prohibits the lynching of an eliminator Edit: Lopen, I see you're lurking. Any thoughts so far? Edit 2: Aaaand he logged off just before I posted. Lopen (just so I don't forget to take it off later )
  9. *Eagerly awaits PM that should come any second now (hopefully)* Oh, and I think Gamma is Eastern time, it was mentioned in the doc for the MR that just ended (15?) Edit: Oh, just saw Gamma's edit. Yep, it's EST
  10. Good game, everyone! That was lots of fun to play. Maill, nice job calling me out early. Still not sure how you caught me, but whatever you did worked Oh, and Maill, for awhile there I actually thought you had a secret role. That's why I pushed for you to be lynched; I thought it could maybe soft clear me if you were. Oh, and I'm now on book 2 of the series thanks to this game
  11. Yep. We'd be able to crush Earth too, so long as they don't have help from the resident shard, Calamity
  12. Don't worry about screwing up, that's how you learn what not to do Seriously, though, you'll figure it out really quick. It's tons of fun once you do
  13. I mean, I can accept just about anything, but you don't like Mistborn?!?! BLASPHAMEY! Seriously though, welcome to the forums! As long as you like at least some of Sanderson's books, you're a friend of mine Oh, and have an upvote!
  14. Welcome to the forums! Have an upvote! I usually respond try to a new member within 10 minutes or so, but my email notifications are down right now for some reason. My bad. Anyways, how do you like Sanderson's books so far? Oh, and how'd you like WoR? (By the way, if you're looking for something to read, I'd recommend Elantris next. And if anyone offers you a cookie, don't take it; it's secretly a Hemarulgic spike that will steal your soul and free will in exchange for a random power)
  15. Ah, yeah, I'd forgotten about that. I'm not sure what to think about that choice of actions. I mean, the village needs kills to win, but so do the eliminators, so your move there doesn't really correlate with the goals of either of the 2 factions. What exactly was the rationale behind that? (Unless, of course, Arais is an eliminator, in which case you were just trying to protect him. Not sure how likely that is, though)Edit: Aman, are you, perhaps, a secret faction? Or, if what Maill is insinuating is true and there are multiple T3s for each element, are you an E3 trying to prolong the game to win via scout? I realize both are unlikely, but it's worth asking
  16. Aman, I think you're probably good, although that's a pure gut read. Out of curiosity, though, what actions did you take last cycle? Might provide some useful information for the village to determine your innocence Oh, and I haven't seen any votes in orange this cycle. If at least 3 players don't vote, I won't use it in accordance with the majority will, since the Elims could easily commander it with less than that.
  17. Lopen has been doing some pretty in depth analysis, and in my opinion it soft clears him to an extent. Obviously, new evidence could come to light that would invalidate this, but for now I think he's most likely good. Edit: Ninja'd by Arais. I agree that killing is important for the village, but I don't really like the thought of someone attempting to be a puppet master manipulating the strings from behind the scenes with little to no justification. I suppose Aman being lynched could point to Maill's innocence if Aman is proven guilty, however. I'm honestly torn as to what the best course of action is right now, so I'm going to abstain from voting for the time being. Maill (Oh, and Maill, I'm still suspicious of you, just might wait to act on it for more information from this cycles lynch, since you could possibly be soft cleared)
  18. This isn't a complete idea, just something I've thrown together on the spot based on perfect state. If anyone would want to elaborate on it, I'd be happy to be a co-GM with you or vice verca! Factions: Eliminators: want to outnumber villagers. Have Elim kill Villagers: want to kill all eliminators. Have lynch Basic ideas X infections will be present in the game that provide their hosts with powers On C1, there will be 2 players with each infection Each host can hold their infection for 2 cycles before becoming immune On their second cycle, all holders have to pass their illnesses to a new player who will become infected the next cycle If no one is selected to be infected or an immune player is selected, the infection is given randomly If you are infected by Y number of infections at the same time or both copies of the same infection, you succumb to your illnesses and die Possible other ideas PMs will be allowed between infected and infector on the turn the infected becomes newly sick 20% chance of incubation period (1 cycle in which the infection basically doesn't exist to keep from entirely simultaneous transmission) I also have some ideas I'm not posting here for reasons I'm not inclined to share as of now Edit: So, my HTML-based bbcode knowledge is not working, nor is the tutorial I found online. Anyone mind letting me know how to make unordered lists, please?
  19. Welcome to the forums, dude! (This is an IRL friend I've been telling to sign up for awhile)
  20. Bugsy was somewhat annoyed. For the first time in weeks, someone had come to the library, and they had asked not for true literature, but rather a book of what seemed like fairy tales. The man quickly stipulated that he wasn't looking for fakes or myths, but rather scholarly accounts of any paranormal creatures in the surrounding area, however, easing Bugsy's bad mood slightly. Tomes such as the ones requested were rare, but together they searched until they found one they mutually deemed satisfactory. As they had searched, Parth had filled him in on what he had seen (or thought he had seen) in the woods the previous night. Glowing eyes, bloodshot like those of a wolf, yet all too human shaped for comfort. Bugsy tried to ease the growing discomfort he felt, but he couldn't seem to take his mind off the vivid description. For some reason, it felt familiar. Was it, perhaps, from one of his dreams? If so, danger could truly abound. Normally, he would have dismissed the thought as mere paranoia and speculation, but a day spent combing through tome after tome filled with the unnatural, he could not dismiss anything lightly. Plus, an inner voice whispered that his paranoia would be very important very, very soon Again, apologies if my RP was completely inconsistent with the host world. Looking back, there are likely monsters in this book considering it's setting, so my character might seem a bit off in that last post. Still, I'm hoping the monsters wouldn't be considered monsters, per say, any more than sharks or lions or any creature of our world, regardless of their apparent monstrosity to other worlders
