Words of Radiance was absolutely fantastic. I had some issues with it, but hey, nothing's perfect. I started Elantris, but I never did end up finishing it. I know it's in my School's Library, so I guess I will check it out! (Finally, I doubt a spike small enough to fit inside a cookie would hold much charge/open me up to creepy influence. I'll take my chances with the demon-cookies)
