  1. I'd say a day spent learning about nature was a day well spent. =)
  2. So yesterday I posted in the Bad Day thread about being miserably sick.... I'm happy to report that I seem to be over it. I'm pretty certain I brought yesterday's misery on myself by eating a yogurt that was past its expiration date with my dinner on Monday. Word of advice: don't take risks when it comes to eating or drinking dairy products you're not 100% sure are safe. I paid dearly for it.
  3. @little wilson I'm good with either the 27th or the 29th.
  4. When one of your Facebook friends mentions that they're reading Sanderson and asks what you're reading, and this is your response:
  5. LOL, I don't think there's any question about that--you're the one who's not only a mod but also now a Mistborn!
  6. May I recommend some of Schwab's other books? I found A Darker Shade of Magic and the rest of that trilogy pretty storming fantastic, and This Savage Song--one of my top 10 favorite books from 2016--has its sequel/conclusion coming out in about a week.
  7. I'm free most weeknights at 7pm. I won't be available on June 12th (a Monday) or the 20th (a Tuesday), and the 23rd (that Friday) would not be ideal, but I'm pretty flexible otherwise.
  8. Ahahaha, no thanks. I don't think the kind of spiders I'd find with that method at night in Australia would fall under the "cute" label. Jumping spiders are okay because as a general rule, they're tiny and not dangerous, but I've heard about the 8-legged terrors that live in Australia. In other news, did you know that jumping spiders will chase laser pointers like cats? (Links to video)
  9. I joined a Facebook group all about jumping spiders just so I could look at super-macro photos of them. I've been squeeing over cute fuzzy spiders for the past 20 minutes.
  10. @Wiggs as Flash said, it's the continuation of Kendra and Seth's story. Technically it's a new series, but it reads like Fablehaven book 6.
  11. @ryshadium90 Captain America! Thanks. You made me smile And thank you also to @Hemalurgic_Headshot for the hugs.
  12. It's barely 9am and I'm already having a completely cremmy day. I was woken up early by my stomach trying to tie itself in knots and ended up losing last night's dinner all over my bathroom floor. So I have the onerous task of cleaning that up while I still feel rotten. And as if that weren't bad enough, I also managed to gouge my finger open on one of the cleaning tools.
  13. Only the first book so far, so I'm afraid I won't have much to contribute to this discussion... But I did enjoy the first book.
  14. Just started re-reading Shadows of Self. I had forgotten how funny the prologue is, with Wax being a total noob at the whole "lawkeeping in the Roughs" gig. XD
  15. Twi said in Discord that she is taking a hiatus from the Shard for a while. She's okay as far as I know, and she still pops into Discord periodically. I believe @Kaymyth has more regular contact with her.
  16. @Orlion On a Cob Shattering glass, how could I have forgotten that song for so long? Thank you for reminding me of its existence! *puts "Hampster Dance" on repeat for the rest of the day*
  17. If that's the second greatest achievement, what's the first greatest?
  18. o_O What in Calamity did I just listen to??
  19. *huge hugs* I don't really know what to say. I hate that you're suffering, and I want to help you feel better and more optimistic about the future, but I don't know what I can do or say to accomplish that. Please know that we all love you and care deeply about you, Elsa. Even though it feels like your life is falling apart right now, keep going. We would be devastated if we lost you. Hang in there. *more huge hugs*
  20. @Wiggs Fablehaven is one of my favorites too! Have you read Dragonwatch yet?
  21. @Pestis the Spider I'm so sorry you lost Freya. I didn't even know her and I'm crying too, because I know what it feels like to lose a pet. *all the hugs*
  22. Better than being in Bridge 4! In other news, I excel at a sport that I completely don't understand. Accidental awesomeness!
  23. Welcome to the Shard, @Wiggs! @Left, you must be the best kind of brother to have introduced your sister to Sanderson and the Shard. =) In other news, bird nesting season is in full swing in Utah! I went out last Monday (Memorial Day--I had the day off of work) and got lots of photos of baby robins, among other things. ^-^ Baby robins in the nest: Young robins that had already left the nest: Downy Woodpecker nest hole: Bullock's Oriole nest:
