@TwiLyghtSansSparkles is correct, but I think my anti-abortion stance is even more likely to engender a flame war than if I had supported abortion.

@Sunbird It's a thorny issue, to be sure. The worst part is when, no matter what side you take, you're labeled as something you're not. Say you're for it? You hate babies and sunshine. Say you're against? If you're a man, you're chauvinist; if you're a woman, you hate your own gender. And I get where all of the strong emotions come from, but I really think this is something we as a society need to find some sort of agreement on, which isn't going to happen as long as the default reaction is name-calling.

Yes, I know what you mean. I tried to state my case calmly and logically, but you know there's always that one person--on either side of any argument/debate--who doesn't speak logic and dismisses anyone who disagrees with them as Hitler incarnate.
