  1. Id say only in the case of the nahel bond. The nahel bond deeply connects the spren to the surgebinder. Allowing it the greater physical aspect required to bestow its abilities. Remember a shardblade is a spren(also a sliver). So long as the bonds connection is maintained i think the spren who are based in the cognitive realm could manifest on another world. Dead spren shardblades however im undecided on. I know from reading a WoB and a certain spoilerishly recent event that crystals hold some kind of significance in the cosmere. The question is whether the way the dead spren are bonded via the crystals is substantial to maintain the blades physical existence if transfered beyond roshar
  2. Could it be because the chemical smelting of bauxite that creates aluminium separates it from its spiritual aspect. Note how it isnt a naturally occuring substance as opposed to alloys. Its molecular structure is very different in a metallic form its mineral. Note also that the lord ruler received the knowledge of its traits and existence while wielding the well of ascension and made the only source in the world of aluminium his ashmounts. Which his inquisitors used to pacify metalborn captives. I theorise that it creates something realmatically unstable that steals investiture to cement its paradox in the cognitive realm. Kind of making up for its lack of innate investiture missing from spiritual aspect. Think, maybe in the same way that nightblood behaves when activated(albiet not so spectacularly)burning investiture chaotically. Or Secret History spoilers
  3. I see the cognitive realm as sort of a quantum reality where the observer percieves information of the world by its cognitive aspect, consisting primarily of the subjects identity as its been viewed as well as how the that identity comes to view itself due to its interactions within the physical realm. Subjects with stronger self identity decay slower than others when altered or removed from its physical connection, but are also more difficult to influence.

  6. Greetings 17th shard, my names Frank from Australia. Im 24 Long time lurker, finally got around to signing up. After about 2 years of perusing the site. Finally got around to it due largely to my love of fantasy and my interest in Sandersons cosmere burgeoning into a minor obsession. I've read prolifically of all his works(among many others)and have a sound memory. Along with conjecture & theories of my own with which i look forward to contributing to unravelling these maddeningly fun mysteries. Im also an aspiring writer who means to one day weave worlds in my own style, and just maybe conjure magic like the best. So, well met. We'll see where this goes Frank
