  1. thanks for mentioning it! So interesting!
  2. Yes I was exactly thinking about this and wanted to choose Nalan! The Full-born access all powers so if we there was a surgebinder or a Fused who had access to all surges, do you think he/she would have a chance?
  3. So you guys think no one with other magical abilities can beat a full-born? what if they were in an alien planet, a natural disadvantage? For instance, fighting a Herald during a Highstrom? Or a non-crazy Fused during a Everstorm? Or an angry one armed Herdazian?! Wouldn't the Full-born will run out of metals in the tremendous situations during a Highstorm (with all the metal pieces that can be moving or rocks and stones smashing to the head and stuff)? Oh come on, not even a chance?!
  4. It is Roshar for me! I don't know whether that's becuase the WOK was the first Brandon's book i read or not. As my favorite planet is Roshar, my favorite character is Kal. As i even talked about it in a post, after finishing OB (more than a month ago) I was dreaming of Roshar every night (and i still do!) There's something deep and exciting about the Highstorms, the Heraldic Epochs, Dawnsingers, Voidbringer, Makabaki kingdoms, the Iriali, Akinah, Death rattles, Diagram, Ghostbloods, Shadesmar, etc. All in all it's clear that so much is going on on Roshar (not that there's so little going on in other system!) Whenever I read something that has happened before Stormlight Archive in the Cosmere (like in Elantris), I refer to it as sth in the past unintentionally! And everything (like Sixth of the Dusk) after it, as future! But It's the brilliance of Brandon's Cosmere, which is going on in different times at the same time! All systems are moving on like long parallel rivers, with delicate connections to each other, which finally unite in the Cosmere ocean. (Wow. Reputation for me! I feel so poetic!)
  5. @Chaos Oh so that's OK! I am alone, but I'll do it step by step. Cause doing anything about Cosmere makes me feel alive! Can I make a forum for Iranian fans and post them there? (Iranian domain, in Farsi language, with mentioning all references and copyright stuff). I assure you that no article or even a paragraph will go unknown; with the exact link to the reference. There are many fantasy lovers in Iran, but only a few know Brandon, For instance, Tolkien, Lovecraft, Martin, Rowling, etc. all have hundreds of thousands of fans here. But even those few who have read one or two of Brandon's books are not Cosmere aware. That said, and also, if you wanted to make a non-English version of Coppermind someday, I'm all in!
  6. Oh thank you! Surely I would ask! thank you for your time and also for that spoiler stuff recommendation!!! Would be quite a relief! Oh dude! That is quite brilliant and well-thought! (Of course it's what everyone expects from Brandon!) And thanks for those Words of Brandon! I hadn't read them before. Quite helpful!
  7. Oh that's OK! thank you all! I was thinking about translating articles for non-English fans (to Farsi) who don't speak English. Not selling, nothing commercial. Is there anywhere I can explain more?!! @Chaos can I send you a message? You got the time to read it?
  8. Hello guys! Does anyone know whom I can talk to directly (eg. via E-mail) if i had some questions about copyright policies and restriction on using the contents and these stuff? I want to do sth, so I wanted to ask for permission and know if it's possible or not.
  9. Oh i get it. I didn't know this fact. So you mean that "space" in there is not simply sth like a negative (as in photos!) to PR? If it's true, this is only true for uninhabited locations. We've seen the map of Shadesmar which is something like the negative of physical Roshar. And this Shrinkage you spoke of, you mean only a relative shrinkage in distances (in 2 dimensions) or there's also complications in directions and dimensions? If that's the case mapping the Cognitive Realm would be really really difficult. Or maybe I'm just seeing hallucinations because i don't understand how it works!!! And as for the sensation: So it is caused losing one's connection between the spirit and the physical body (in Kelsier case it's clear). And you say that "ripped off" thing was different from the "tearing sensation". Which I find logical. Like they all experienced it directly, which is impossible due to their different amount of "torture resistance" in Damnation while enduring pains.
  10. Thank you very much for your time! Yes as he said, being in the interstellar space is totally different from being off a planet. We know that Voyager has just reached interstellar space after 40 years, but all satellites are already off the planet. But how can plant life exist in the space? Does anyone expect life to exist there? And my next question is that Kelsier WAS running towards the oceans (Westwards). I mean, can't anyone explore the ocean even if he/she wants to? I just don't understand how does Kelsier intends to travel West far into the ocean and he ends up in the space. Is it possible that the fact that he intended to find Ire (not merely going westwards), has gotten him into the Ire and not into the middle of the ocean? Sorry if I was not clear enough. I mean after stepping onto the ocean, there are still plants around him. We read that: Plant life grew all around him [,,,] There were some bits of mist in here. If he knelt by the ground and looked for them, he could find little glowing spirits. Fish, sea plants. They manifested here above the ground, though in the ocean on the other side they were probably down within the depths. But after going further on, he reaches a place with no visible sign of life: He hiked through the jungle for days, but then it started to dwindle. Eventually he reached a place where plants grew only in occasional patches. They were replaced with strange formations of rock, like glassy sculptures. [...] nothing seemed to be alive out here in either Realm. So at first, he really WAS walking on the ocean. But he didn't exactly know which way he's going. Only that pulling sensation coming from Scadrial let him choose the right direction. I don't understand the geography or dimensions here. Also, thanks for these two. I had guessed that it might be the case. Just needed to be sure though. It's from the SH's beginning: Kelsier died. It turned out to be far more painful a process than he had anticipated. Instead of a soft fade to nothingness, he felt an awful tearing sensation—as if he were a cloth caught between the jaws of two vicious hounds. And in OB we have: I don't have any idea on this one! Might be as well something totally irrelevant, just a coincidence.
  11. I've just read Secret History again and faced some questions. Here are some of them about the cognitive world on Scadrial. these are more guesses and ambiguities than theories, as well as some questions (which may definitely be flawed). I would gladly hear any missing points on these issues, and sorry if these seem foolish questions to you 1-When Kelsier was running towards the Ire in the cognitive realm, he faces Ruin which could not reach him past the shores and onto the ocean. why can't Ruin reach the Ocean Island? we say that a shard resides on a planet, not only a continent. Isn't he completely free of Leras' prison at the time? We could say the area might be out of the planet, but in this case there are plant life (the cognitive version) all over the place even after Kelsier gets out of Ruin's reach, which means Ocean on the other side. 2-After more traveling, Kelsier reaches a place with no plant life. There are no life in the depth of the oceans or it's somewhere near the planet's borders? I assumed that the Ire is somewhere in the space which is out a Ruin's reach. 3-If that's the case and Elantrians are somewhere in the space, so the surface of the planet and the void outside it must have complete integrity in time-space like in physical realm. But how do they breath? 4-Is there gravity on CR or Kelsier can't fly just because he expects planet to pull him down? 5-Is the "awful tearing sensation" the same as the sensation or just a coincidence? P.S: I don't know if these are relevant questions or they just raised because I'm completely wrong about the conception of the CR.
  12. So much difference! I do it wrong?! Are the any WOB on this topic since 2014? I read previous cmts, but i see that they are from 3 years ago.
  13. First of all thanks for sharing the Crem experience! i really have no idea how makeup liquid feels when touched! but i will investigate it. and that Windrunner dream you had, is interesting. It is obviously a reference to Szeth complexities in life! Highstorms i always present in my dreams, but as I love Kal (he's the first character I knew from Cosmere books) I always ride them while being sad! dunno why!
  14. Does anyone know how to pronounce Re-Shephir? Is is (ree)-she(f)ir? Like "replay"?!
  15. I think the other shards won't consider Odium a threat regarding a cosmere-wide war. You can see that by the confident tone the first letter (apparently associated with Endowment) implies in the OB "If Rayse becomes an issue, he will be dealt with. And so will you." What's your guess on his attitude towards Cultivation? surely he considers Cultivation a threat, as Stormfather suggested I don't recall the exact terms, but it was something about "Odium not fully coming forth, since he doesn't want to make himself vulnerable to Cultivation" if i correctly recall.
  16. Oh! thanks for the links! I really appreciate it
  17. Is there anyone who have actually read all these 89 pages of comments?! By the way, though Kal is my favorite, and also I don't really like to see Adolin suffering a romantic tragedy :'(
  18. Vasher (Zahel) always wears trendy suits
  19. Does Brandon recommend reading unpublished works? is there a possibility that some details change later?
  20. oh dude! Hoid and Rayse are main actors in my dreams! Good point. So maybe I am crazy and these are also visions!
  21. Does anyone else dream of Roshar (or other Cosmere worlds at night?!) It's been a week that i finished Oathbringer and still dream of Roshar at night (maybe 3 or 4 separate dreams each night!) Like last night I was once Kaladin, Then i was myself listening to Cephandrius talking about his memories and chronology of Cosmere from a billion years ago! And like every other fantasy book, I feel i miss it and a bit... um, sad maybe?! Am i going crazy or these are visions of the Almighty?! Like to know if anyone share the same feelings.
  22. The Flute plays Hoid?!
  23. I am a heretic myself and i think i can partly understand her, since I'm also condemned and blamed by others most of the time for being an atheist! but my favorite one is Kal!
  24. Interesting! but in old Persian, Jasnah (if pronounced as yasnah) means worshiping or prayers! which is completely contradictory to her character! And also my favorite name is Cephandrius because of the way it sounds! it also sounds suitable for the character!
  25. oh you're right high priestess. ew. sorry
