  1. To speak bluntly. Neither am I. I mean, there's already good evidence to point to the fact that our rioter is a villager. So why on earth would I bother lying about that? And, if I were lying, maybe to protect myself against eliminators, wouldn't that already indicate that I'm village? I mean, vote on me, I guess, but... Please just clarify, what are your actual reasons to be voting on me? God knows, there are likely solid reasons to think I'm suspicious, but I'm not seeing any of them. Half of the votes this cycle have had maybe 1 sentence of vague reasoning behind them. I'm noticing Randuir is reliably asking people to elaborate when they do that, for which I applaud him.
  2. There are a lot of people who were substantially more active than me last cycle, who did not submit votes. In the span of maybe five minutes you confidently conclude that somehow I was definitely the rioter, once you are asked if you rioted someone. You understand why I call you out perhaps? I'm not necessarily saying you are the rioter... But it just seems very odd to pin this on me. And anyway. You want to accuse me of not voting? Perhaps I can remedy that, Ecthelion. Lets see if this one counts. ANYWAYS... Aman seems to have died. That's kind of lame to be honest. I mean, I understand why the inquisitor might not want to play Aman's game, but... Still. Honestly, if I were inquisitor I probably woulda just killed someone other than the three people Aman listed. No reason to let the enemy dictate the options. Especially since he could have secretly arranged to actually have a lurcher protect him, which actually would have been a pretty good way to waste an eliminator kill. But, anyway, Aman is dead. Sad. And I suppose that means the inquisitor has access to a conversion, which is... Unfortunate. Well, maybe it makes a more fun game, there being not just 1 elim. But it also makes the eliminators more powerful, hence it being unfortunate. I bet I can do an RP post tonight. And... Anything else to talk about? Nothing comes to mind. End post.
  3. I mean its not like the vote manip actually changed anything. Probably just rioters and soothers announcing their presence. The rioter may have wanted there to be a decisive lynch on Sart? I'm not really sure there was much reason to lynch Sart in particular, but I can support making sure there is a D1 lynch. But *shrugs* We'll have a clearer picture of what is happening vote manipulation wise after more cycles.
  4. LOL the last game I wasing the play, wasing a QF, and ising the confuse, ising guess. Needing to pay more attention. Be disregarding this vote of Serray then, I guess? Translation: LOL the last game I played was a QF and I'm confused I guess. I need to pay more attention. Disregard my vote then I guess?
  5. Hm... Wasing no killings last night. And wasing two vote manipulations. Ising the agree that Silverblade's vote negation wasing a soother announcing themselves. It seems discussion is very much centered on soothing/rioting, and I suppose I will continue that. So... For Ecth's thinking I am rioting people... Honestly, why would you think I was the one rioting? There are loads of players whose votes didn't end up counting (yours included), and you single out me? I don't get it. Yes, I didn't vote last cycle. Frankly, I didn't feel qualified to. I hadn't read the majority of the massive thread that was unfolding, and while I posted analysis for what I saw in front of me, I let the people who had a better pulse on things have their votes. And, again... You say I made "quite a few" posts, but frankly, there are other people who were substantially more active than I was, who also didn't vote. Furthermore, looking at the posting times, it looks like in a span of very little time you went from asking people what they were talking about to suspect you of rioting, to pinning it on me. This makes little sense to me. I'm kind of wondering if you are just trying to scapegoat me here... I realize I might be paranoid against you because my bad gut reads on you last LG were proven disastrously right, and because of that I'll try to keep myself from voting on you. Or, actually... Changin' my mind. If you want me to prove I'm not a rioter, what better way is there but to cast a vote? I realize that the inquisitor may choose to soothe me now, just to sow chaos. But he can't do that every cycle, can he? Or at least, if he does, I'll be wasting his actions. So, guess I'll vote on you, Ecthelion. Unless a better target presents itself... Sorry for slipping out of high imperial... It'll be featured more in RP posts. In the meantime, I got to catch up some on last cycle.
  6. It's true. The cookies are wonderful. Have one. Have as many as you like. What could go wrong...
  7. Hm... I'm looking through random parts of the forum I don't usually check... And what a wonderful thread this is. And I also see the groundwork for a brilliant experiment. I shall attempt to create a steel inquisitor... Using sticks as spikes! But to do that, I must join the sticks radiant... I shall be a stickbringer! Stick before death. Stick before weakness. Stick before destination. I am a stick. I shall always remain a stick. I shall never not be a stick. Ever. I. AM. A. STICK.
  8. This is amazing. I'm sure the cover takes artistic license so maybe don't read into it too much... But it tells us a few things definitely. Jasnah is going to be a major character, for one (I know the character the book is centered on is Dalinar, but I'm guessing Jasnah takes a much more active role in this book than she did in WoR, or in WoK. I'm guessing there will be substantial parts of the book written from Jasnah's perspective). Also it tells us that the desolations are going to come in full force during the book (something that should be obvious giving the ending to WoR). The presence of stormclast knocking in walls, red and blue lightning in the back, and a wall of spears... This will be epic. Also. With the wall of spears. It looks very much like the insignia on that flag is the same crab-like one we see on Dalinar's back in the WoK cover. So I'm guessing those spears are Alethi infantry in Dalinar's army. Possibly Kaladin's squires.
  9. Anyone else agree with this?
  10. The only reason a seeker would claim in early game was if they were a lynch target, or they found an eliminator early. The first situation clearly does not apply, since there is no claim. The second situation is unlikely to happen soon. So I wouldn't wait too long for a seeker. And anyway, what good does it do to wait, if there were a seeker? How is the existence of a seeker relevant to our lynch? I'm not sure I understand your reasoning.
  11. Maybe you wouldn't. Personally, I totally would. It would be the perfect bluff. Not saying I particularly actually suspect you though. I don't really think your long posts about being annoyed indicate very much about your alignment at all. Anyways... Like I said, and like DA seems to have also said, it pays to look for changes in playstyle. I've noticed those kind of differences and then ignored them in the last two games, and ended up regretting I ignored them. And, speaking of different playstyles, and also speaking of DA, it kind of looks like DA is playing very differently from how he did last game. I'm not sure how to say this, but you seem a lot more... Helpful? I'm tempted to throw a vote... But I won't. Not yet. Even so. Again, I reiterate. It makes sense to lynch someone this cycle. Yes, you have a 5x less chance to hit an elim. But if you hit an elim C1, it's a 5x more valuable target. In terms of our expectation to win the game, it literally makes no difference that there is only 1 very powerful eliminator right now.
  12. So... I'm not going to pretend I'm caught up on all this big thread, but I have read the last page. Speaking of which: The GMs can correct me on this, but I'm guessing it is very probable that people who die but are on the winning team still win. Otherwise you get people trying to preserve themselves over their faction. But anyway. In my past few games, it seems to me that one of the best indicators of being an eliminator is a change in playstyle. Unsurprisingly, most people are sticking to their normal play. We only have 1 elim for now, after all. Among the people who seem to be playing very much in line with their typical style are Arin, Ecth, maybe Jon. I don't really know Mark at all, but so far he seems not suspicious. Personally though, I'd advocate a day 1 lynch, even if our probability of hitting an elim is small. You see, our expected value of hitting elim is just as good as it would be if we waited. As compared to when the elim has spiked 4 people, we have a 5x smaller chance of hitting a 5x more valuable target. The expected value does not change. As for who to lynch... I'd like to say I have a suspicion but I need to read more before I do. Expect a vote coming sometime. And RP if I got time, but probably that'll show up in C2. Wasing the not of speaking high imperial this post. Ising the finish with high imperial to keep up the cosmetic role.
  13. Frankly, I just don't feel up to full activity tonight. If the cycle is still alive in the morning, I'll talk more.
  14. Ah, the game wasing the start. Hello everybody. Ising called Serray (ising needing a nickname for speaking the high imperial though). Ising not much to say. Ising sorry not to be as active as wasing usually. Ising going to be more active next cycle. Feel free to ask me if anything I say doesn't make sense. I believe so far I've been reasonably intelligible.
  15. Everyone wasing the learning of high imperial... Ising amazing.
  16. Fixed. The RP background is also available in the initial post, since I haven't changed it at all since then... Also, the rough outlines of another game idea occurred to me, that might be humorous... A dark alley themed SE game. Among the innocents traveling through the alley, there are some people... Some people you don't want to meet in a dark alley. This isn't much more than a speculated theme right now. To be a properly thought out game, this would probably need some kind of hemalurgy mechanic (a cursory search reveals that there aren't many examples of hemalurgy as a central game mechanic in past SE games).
  17. I'm not so sure... The body is too large in proportion to the head to be a duck. Actually... One moment... The source of the image is here, and it seems to be labelled as an "angry goose"
  18. Alright I've had some time, so... Here's the reworked version of my game: RP Background: Format: QF Alignments: Loyal Idrian Soldiers play the part of townspeople. They get a normal lynch vote every cycle. If the vote is tied, a random person in the tied vote is killed. The Hallandren Agents play the standard eliminator role. Agents hold the commands to a group of lifeless. Every night, they may order their lifeless to attack the camp and take one of the soldiers. In the event that an eliminator has a role-based power, they may choose to either put in an order for the faction power or use their individual power. You may only use one action per cycle, and using a role power or a faction power both count as an action. The elim who puts in the kill order will for all intents and purposes be the only one carrying out the kill action. The Lifeless are players who have been lynched by day (Not players who are killed by elims though. There are several reasons for this. First, it means elims can't target good players to recruit them. Second, I find it ironic that someone falsely lynched by the town can do something to get the townspeople back. Third, the RP rationale for this is that people taken by the lifeless are physically injured and thus require some repairs to be made into lifeless, whereas people who have been hung have less physical injury and are significantly easier to make into lifeless). In terms of the writeups, they are the ones that actually carry out nightly kills. They can't actually participate in the game in any way however (can't post, vote for lynch, or decide kills). Lifeless share the elim win condition, since they are technically part of the eliminator force and are meant to give the eliminators an edge. The lifeless have a doc, and every cycle, the elims may ask the GM to publish up to 5 yes or no questions on the lifeless doc. The eliminators will be informed of all "yes" or "no" replies the lifeless submit (the lifeless don't all have to agree on a definitive "yes" or "no" to a given question). This is a somewhat further nerfed version of STINK's originally suggested nerf. This is because, in STINK's suggestion, the elims could conceivably send a message to the lifeless revealing their identity, which would subvert the intent of his suggestion to limit the knowledge the lifeless have access to. I could make a rule specifically prohibiting such a reveal, but I find this approach to be cleaner, since what counts as a reveal is conceivably not always black and white. Eliminator mediums may seem an odd idea... But the mechanic is basically derived from the fact that more lifeless = more power, and the eliminators are using lifeless. And I suspect that this version won't give the elims so much power that QF levels of role and faction distributions can't balance it out. Roles: To deal with the threat of lifeless every night, the Idrians have sentries. A Sentry can choose someone to watch every cycle. The list of people who targeted the sentry's target with an action will be made known to the sentry at the end of the cycle. Everyone agreed, one person, one vote. But there are still people in charge... An Officer can order one person to change their vote each cycle. In its infancy, Idris still had awakeners, though the art was growing to be unpopular. An Awakener may immobilize a target with an awakened rope every cycle, roleblocking them for the cycle (does not block votes, but blocks all other actions including vote manipulations). I understand that a roleblocker is more powerful than a vanilla doctor role, but I believe this game should be able to account for that. Inactivity Filter: Players who are inactive for a cycle will fall ill. If they are active again in the following cycle, they recover from their sickness. If they are fully inactive for a second cycle, they will die of the sickness and be removed from the game. This means players aren't kicked after 1 cycle of inactivity, which can be rough... But inactivity is still filtered out. PM policy: Open PMs. Should have mentioned that earlier.
  19. Well, after eating the right cookie you might just turn into a gold compounder. Or a koloss... Depends on the cookie. Also. I approve of the goose picture. Have an upvote for that.
  20. Granted. You are now dead. Strengths: you no longer have to deal with anything in this world. Weaknesses: you are no longer capable of dealing with anything in this world. The strengths balance out the weaknesses. In all situations under the sun. I wish for... Hm. I wish I weren't sick anymore. EDIT: Sorry nightwatcher, but I've recovered before you could grant my wish, and so I now retract it without receiving a bane! Instead... I wish for the best thing to wish for.
  21. Ising the sick right now. Hoping the recover before it starts.
  22. Interesting... Well, I died C1, so not much to add here. On C1, I did express suspicions about Mage in my partner PM though. Also, while I didn't closely follow the game much after dying, I enjoyed reading all the write-ups. Well written.
  23. Granted. In regard to your previous bane, the nightwatcher informs you that investiture with no intent or consciousness directing it is literally impossible. If a large quantity of investiture became aimless, it would spontaneously develop sentience and direct itself. The best you can do to render investiture aimless is to set parts of it against itself, which I'm betting is what splintering a shard must entail of. I hope that helps with the wish Some of what I said is theorizing on my part. Your bane is that the Oathbringer release date is delayed another 2 months. I wish for a half-hour glass... I have no idea why.
  24. Granted. You are motivated to draw scenes that are extremely disturbing. Your drawings ruin some poor psychiatrist's day. I wish for an hourglass.
  25. You request to break logic? The nightwatcher grins evilly. Your wish is granted. You may not break the laws of reality and reason, nor may you create usable investiture of any kind inside of anyone you choose, and negative consequences abound if you attempt it. As your bane, all birds can no longer stand your presence. Their responses to you vary from extreme agitation to outright aggression. If that seems like an illogical way to grant your wish... Well, the laws of reason are being broken! I wish for a cinnamon roll.
