  1. Is Spooks mistborn powers weaker because they were given through hemalurgy? I remmber he gets stabbed with a sword through someones heart. Fuzzy on how he became a mistborn if someone can correct or confirm
  2. I was thinking if Rayse took Odium first and then Ati takes the bullet for the team by taking Ruin because someone had to. They could not leave Ruin unheld and up for grabs.
  3. The wind on Roshar? Silent and gentle guardian for kaladin?
  4. Stomrfather or everstorm?
  5. WoT is still one of my favorites. Really deeply affected me. I felt like the dark one was negative thoughts personified and I would often use the flame and the void to clear my mind. WoT is my favorite but the fact that Mistborn accomplishes so much in a trilogy makes it #1 for me. Nothing beats WoT as far as my favorite but I never met anyone ib person who has read it despite my begging!
  6. In one of the responses to the letter it says "“He bears the weight of God’s own divine hatred, separated from the virtues that gave it context. He is what we made him to be, old friend. And that is what he, unfortunately, wished to become.” What he wished to become could mean there was some foresight into the shattering. Perhaps the 16 thought themselves more compassionate than the distant one all powerful and split it assuming they would be better gods. He is what we made him to be could indicate the other shardholders drove Rayse to do something drastic shattering Adnolasium in order to ontain the Odium shard. The others could have picked up the remaining shards to keep the balance.
  7. Mistborn is really important to cosmere. Its the most complete look into how everything may come together... In fact you may want to reread stormlight afterwards haha To me Mistborn is the most complete/best fantasy series I have read. Turned the genre upside down for me.
  8. Perhaps for some reason he feels Honor broke his word and he hates all surgebinders and heralds as a result. He might want to punish the heralds most of all and attacks their knights instead. Perhaps Nal has been convinced that only Odium keeps his word.
  9. Close enough! Remmingtel Tarscel, Sophias father, was the answer His invention of the lightbulb is stolen from him and his daughter continues his work
  10. Nope. The answer is an obscure character.
  11. Whoever the invincible man chooses as his god must be a badass
  12. The pressure! Hope this one doesnt stink. I spent my days trying to improve the world But my light was stolen from me I died destitute and depressed Yet my daughter continues my work and fights for my honor
  13. Tensoon???
  14. I have a really hard time casting Kaladin but here are some random thoughts for others. Anthony Hopkins as Taravingian - crazy smart guy Bruce Willis or Daniel Craig as Sadeas. I think both have an edge to them (or maybe Mel Gibson.. he gives me a slimy vibe lol) Robert DeNiro as Dalinar (maybe Russell Crowe) Bradley Cooper as Adolin Jesse Eisenberg as Renarin Benedict Cumberbatch or Matt Damon as Amaran The Rock as Rock (duh) Robert Downey Jr. as Lopen Danny DeVito or Jack Black as Sebrial Charlize Theron (died black hair?) as Jasnah - regal looking and attractive mature woman
  15. I think this is why he mentions he has to kill Dalinar. He says if Dalinar fights and divides Alethkar he can stay alive and will turn out to be his greatest ally but if he tries to unite Alethkar he has to die because he would be an alternative not a compliment to what he is doing.
  16. Maybe Syl can shoot a ribbon of light that is actually a giggling Wind spren
  17. A lot of the prologues serve as a State of the Bad Guys type information otherwise you would be like huh where did these bad guys come from. Literally every single fact/tidbit mentioned in the Wheel of Time comes back later. You have to realize that the entire series they are talking about a final battle and that is what the culmination is. Literally every single character good or evil will play a part in the lead up or the battle itself. Looking back there are many really cool connections that I hated myself for not picking up on. If you are looking for a book to dominate and finish and know the story easily WoT is no walk in the park. However I found it to be one of the most satisfying series to complete for me. It is kind of like Stormlight Archive... I blew through those books the first read without really appreciating any of the subtlety of the story. On the second read I was like wow I am such a jerk I missed out on all of these really cool connections.
  18. Your right you have to choose which one you are tapping at the moment. Forgot about that. Even though you can only use one feruchmically at a time you can store all of them for burning allomantically right? So I still could compound sight/hearing at the same time?
  19. Awesome!!!! Enjoy!
  20. Good point I have thought of that as well. However there is a downside to flaring too much pewter and exhausting yourself not sure if the compounding would counteract that. Tin is also similar (both increases senses) and if I remember correctly burns a lot slower than other metals. I wonder if you compounded tin if your reactions would be like a poor mans atium able to see a twitch in the skin or creak of a bone before they even tried to move... also a sneeze might make you go deaf if you turned your hearing up to 11. Fun to think about though =)
  21. I completely agree. Szeth literally caused chaos throughtout the world (he is also the reason Tien and Kaladin end up in the plains in the first place). Kaladin has had scattered we are fighting to the death but lets kind of chat conversations. Not enough at all for him to say I need to save this guy in the middle of the incredible double highstorm/everstorm combo. Syl tells him in no uncertain terms the Honorblade must be saved and why should Kaladin argue? Kaladin has no background on Szeth's past so its reasonable that he isn't committed to saving him.
  22. There is an alternate ending... Mistborn era 2 =) The completion of the series leaves you a little hurt but better off in the long run.. if that makes sense. While there may be some heartbreakers, life goes on and learning to live with the loss and roll with the punches becomes easier when you read Mistborn era 2 and you see what they fought for. While some parts will disappoint you it is an extremely rich story and any pain it causes will be out shined by the good stuff.
  23. I explained it sober many times but the important part was that they were drunk and actually listened lol
  24. I think Mr. T has a longview of history and conflict. His mindset is if I leave all of these independent actors to their own devices they will all fall. It would kind of be like America without FDR or Britain without Churchill against Nazi Germany. He figures the best way to defeat the creatures of Odium is to create a situation where he is supremely in command and has all of humanity at his disposal to fight back. So it could be that he is looking at the world as dispassionately as a chessboard and sees the only option as having every piece be under his control... or he could be a pawn in a much bigger game. The only argument I would have against Mr. T. being manipulated is that his gift comes from the Nightwatcher who is a spren and so far has not given anyone else a tainted gift.
