Also, by enchanted, I mean that a wizard actually set a constant spell on it. Is this allowed?

Well, you see the magic is passed down from someone who ate a great Lumuole. It makes much more sense if the emeralds were enchanted by the 1st person. Unlike the other, latter mages, he becomes a god after death. He could then, as he dies, enchant the stones. Otherwise enchanting emeralds to provide air would have to be a power. Which... actually doesn't sound so weird anymore.

Also, I'm gonna edit something in about gasoline and napalm here when I can.

  2. They have to change colors, they must change colors, its not about being light eyed or dark eyed,if you become a radiant it doesn't just lighten your eye color, the color of your eyes must change to the color of the order you are in,let me give you an example in kaladin, his normal eye color is dark brown so when he became a radiant why didn't his eyes lighten to light brown or tan? Instead they became blue which is the color of the order of windrunners likewise shallan's eye color must be pink/red if she ingests stormlight or summon her blade.

Brandon might have said that the change in shallan's eye color is not easily noticed because her eyes are already light, not that her eyes won't change color because they're light.

I think he means that the WOB says that Lighteyes eyes simply aren't affected by becoming a Radiant. Not sure though since I haven't seen the WoB.

But for your question, I believe most human Diaemites are at either a tribal a primitive medieval level.

By 1000 CE, what we'll use as our functional present, technology has reached about the premodern era (although it's not a 1/1 correlation, and there's regional variation.) Gunpowder hasn't been discovered (or, at least, isn't in common use,) but there are large, sailing ships, perhaps the printing press, stuff like that. You get the impression that Diaemus is just on the cusp of a technological renaissance, but isn't quite there. If we were to let people take their regions' histories into the future, I suggest that we go steampunk instead of full modern, but that's just me.

By the way, what's the mechanic that makes your island float?  I'm sort of interested.

Guys, This is confusing. Those time periods are pretty far apart. Are the technology levels simply drastically different in different regions?
  4. Only if you take part in the various hemalurgic experiments going on down here. If you want you can help me find some more nicrocyl. I've been running tests on its properties since...those voices....contacted me. Not so sure if it's just the result of my exceedingly jacked up spirit Web or...something else...

Just your Spiritweb. Don't mind the mind-invading mistwraith slug.
