Me: *trying to create the ice epic companion for Bird*
My brain: Here you go a young man who Bird is trying to teach manners so he can invite people to and participate in fancy balls where she can get clients for her clothe's making businnes. He is catching up quickly on the manners part but his handwriting is atrocios so he hires a young woman to write for him and falls in love with her. Bird also likes her but she acidentally scares the girl away with a horse sized dog.
Me: woohoo
My brain: His powers are temperature change of objects and frost pulses(will explain later in his bio). When using them he is merciless for if he is attacking he is going to kill.
Me: Good job those are cool powers.
My brain: And HERE is an Epic with the power to grow ice from his hands, shoot steam, and superstrength(will explain later in a bio).
Me: Well I like these powers. And what would his personality be?
My brain: He is considered a simpleton by most even though he is simply smart enough to realize what he is good at and leave everything else to other people. He realizes he is a force of destruction and agressive protection. He latched on to becoming an Epic as his second chance. He trains everyday and has quite thuroughly tested his powers. He serves a master if he considers him worthy. Upon arriving in Salem he will join the city and use the arena for training.
Me: F**k you brain. You gave me these options so you better decide.
My brain: Just ask other people online.
Ok guys so i am asking which I should pick. The likeable guy and merciless killer or the competent and epic Epic?

Don't worry it's a ball.

Ok guys I am putting Bird in Salem but i will be writing from the wiewpoint of her companion (an ice Epic) most of the time.
Also how do Salem players feel about Bird throwing parties every day and inviting all the Epics to them?

Guys I am thinking about putting Bird of PAradise in Corvallis instead of Salem since Salem is more about action and Corvallis isn't as action packed which fits Bird better I think. If I choose Corvallis i will still start in Salem with a different Epic because I want to read Corvallis before starting there and that is going to take a while.

Warrior that is way too many powers. He simply has a power for almost any situation. Epics using their powers in different and creative ways is cool. Epics just using a different power for each situation is boring. And of course Hunter is OP. Having 1 powerful power is ok. It means the Epics have weaknesses and strengths.
Hunter could actually be cool with gun portals but without the range limitation. Also should keep the shields and make them more powerful somehow.

Hey if some one looked at Salem from afar what would it look like? Can someone name some notable features?
Also any suggestions for shortening the name Bird of Paradise other than Birdy? Because that was a horrible idea as i found out when trying to write anything dignified.
Also what is the reckonverse currency?

Do I want to know how that became Cormac's greatest fear?

You do not. There is no way it's something anyone wants to know.

So this is the revamped TheJungle now known as Bird of Paradise (Thanks kobold). Everything here is subject to change tomorrow.
Name: Bird of Paradise aka. Bird
Powers: Upgrade animal- Can touch an animal to make it grow 2 times larger (this automatically increases speed and strength), and cause the animal glow a certain color chosen by Bird. Enhanced animals also age and produce products (including babies) far faster.
Enhance color- Can touch anything to make the thing glow (think Warbreaker).
Control animals- Can control animals he/she has upgraded. She controls by thinking the commands. She can also call animals by using another animal of the same species.
Color precision- Can tell precise color tones (Warbreaker 3rd hightening).
Story: She is a clothes designer who came to Salem because she realized what the fights really were. Theatre. Improvisation theatre if we are being completely honest. And theatres have actors. And actors in turn need costumes. She likes modeling the clothes she produces after exotic animals wich she has pictures of in a catalog. She also makes clothes for her animals based on people or other animals. She also has sheep and silk worms(all upgraded) with her for clothing resources because it turns out upgraded creatures produce resources fast. Like 1 cubic-meter of cloth from 1 sheep per hour, levels of fast.
Weakness: Gonna send to Twi and Voidus tomorrow but will leave hints to it ingame.
What do you guys think of BIRD OF PARADISE, DRESSER OF PETS?

Mckeedee I hadn't thought about the style sense so much. Revisiting i might actually take this one with slightly modified powers and more focused on fasion and a new name. Any name sugestions for a fashionista epic that colors animals?

I am making up an epic for Salem right now and went through a couple of powersets that are kinda okay but just don't fit with the idea. Maybe someone will take them.
TheJungle: Can enhance animals by touching them. This makes them grow 2 times larger become stronger and faster and glow a certain color chosen by the TheJungle and his "amazing" sense of style. He can also control enhanced animals. Can also enhance minor plantlife (bushes, flowers, grass) to make them grow fast.
Potato: Can infuse plantlife so that it explodes when deformed. Can also make potatos out of any matter. You got the idea.

It might have something to fo with the different forms

I wouldn't be this epic but it is a cool one i came up with.
Name: Coldpin
Powers: Cold infusion- Coldpin can infuse anything with cold if it's within 10m of himself, is smaller than 1m3, isn't alive and is in a solid state. While infusing he can lower the temparature of the thing being infused to any temperature between 0°C and -273,15°C (absolute zero) and choose how far from the surface the thing affects outside temperature (0cm-10cm). Infused things don't change their temperature because of outside conditions and only lose their charge when Coldpin wishes so. Upon losing their charge things heat rapidly to the the temperature they had before infusion.
Cold sense- Colpin can precisely tell anything's temperature by looking at it. He also knows anything's freezing temperature.
Iceskin- His skin is light blue and he can create a thin(1mm), incredibly durable layer of ice on his body. He also has a very thin layer of water under his skin that doesn't freeze unless it is hit with force in which case it freezes instantly.
Frostpulse- He shoots pulses from his hands that freeze water, any substance containing water or any substance with a freezing temperature above that of water. The blasts are invisible but when shooting them his skin flashes with blue light and the blasts freeze the water in the air which makes the blasts visible in humid places.
Ice step- When he touches the ground be creates 1m radius circles of ice wherever he touches. When touching water he also creates 1m radius circles of ice that go 20cm underwater. He doesn't slip on ice if he doesn't want to slip
Aura of cold- Air around him is colder announcing his majestjs Coldpin's presence to the foolish mortal who wandered too close.
Extras- Immortal, immune to cold , 10 times normal speed, 3 times normal strength, doesn't need to breathe, eat, drink or sleep.
Weaknesses: Glutenfree cookies with raisins and white chocolate- He cannot freeze with frostpulse or infused things anyone who has these in his system and loses all his powers when he eats one. This is a source of great shame to him because he doesn't consider it a weakness worthy of a prime epic like himself.
Costume: He wears a suit of armor made from his ice layer, and a blue cloth cloak and hood.
Mark of evil: He lives in digferent cities mobing frequently. When in a city he freezes objects such as lampposts, and tools to watch people freeze their hands. He also coats dangerous places, such as contruction sites, in ice to watch people fall off high places. During the night he often gows on killing sprees if he sees a fight. He likes going out in the ocean and destroying ships.

About the horneater/parshendi thing.
Rock says there's an order for which child does what. I think this might come from parshendi culture as a way of stating which child must take which form.
Also the horneaters talking to spren is probably from parshendi

We know that rock's (insert the name for horneater lord) who was his family went down from the peaks and then died. Rock was so angry he risked his life by cooking chull dung for SadeasInterestingly, are characters required to break to become a Surgebinder, or are they required to break to become a Squire? They can draw in and hold Stormlight, does that come entirely from Kaladin or is some capacity needed from the would-be Squire? Is a traumatic experience associated with a 'break' in SA what essentially qualifies people for Surgebinders? We know nothing of the past experiences of many other bridgemen (the experiences on the Shattered Plains could qualify for all of them, but then I think what we might end up with is thousands and thousands of would-be Surgebinders or at least Squires). Teft could reasonably have had a traumatic experience when he watched his mother get executed (I might be confusing his father and mother, Teft was present for the carrying out of the death sentence of one of his parents, not both), but we have virtually no information on what other bridgemen have been through.

Are the kollos fully grown? If so they win

Please excuse some grammar errors the text is readable and that's what matters

If he is a surgebinder he is from the 9th order. Explenation coming when i get to a computer.
EDIT: So the reason is found in the Ars Arcanum.
The number 9 and therefore the 9th order are asociated with dependability and resorcfulnes. Who can get almost anything through his extensive network of cousins. Lopen. I am fairly sure thats resorcefulness. And you dont entrust a king to someone who isn't dependable.
Btw. Lopen probably won't become a radiant until he breaks. From a citation that will be coming shortly it seems radiants snap like mistborn or mistings do. All radiants so far have also been broken once. Dalinar was betrayed by sadeas before he became a radiant. Kaladin saw tien die begore syl showed up. Shallan had a very rough childhood. Girl-with-winged-cremling-I-forgot-the-name-of fell from a huge height and also had huge emotional stress from thinking her babsk would die(kind of a stretch in this case). Thief girl is a thief and seemingly an orphan so she has propably had some stressfull moments. Ym was an urchin and also there was that kill someone part so that could be it. Lopen in his one chapter and while he was a bridgeburner seemed fine. But he may be surpresing his emotions like Shallan was. But the memories would be diferent because his family seems okay unlike Shallans.
EDIT2: http://brandonsanderson.com/books/the-stormlight-archive/words-of-radiance/
It is the nature of the magic. A broken soul has cracks into which something else can be fit. Surgebindings, the powers of creation themselves. They can brace a broken soul; but they can also widen its fissures.
This is the citation with a link for verification. It is from the back cover of WoR so it is quite cannon i think1

Actually edge I think i will do bouth. Coldpin(young epic) will be the companion since he has a stronger conection to Bird and Glacier will arrive seperately. Although this will mean that my 2 characters are both ice epics. Anyways thanks Edgedancer for setting me on this train of thought.
