  1. The orange slowly flies into your hand at a force of 1 N. It looks good, tastes good, is the right temperature, and is completely normal. You're ready to eat it... and the orange vendor that the orange came from notices you. He does not look happy.
  2. Verre Siaron is just standing there at the edge of the discussion circle glaring at me. Seriously, what is his problem? He doesn't even have the decency to explain his accusation. Kae was right, we should have hightailed it out of here the moment he figured out the Tyrian Falls connection. Verre is quite annoyed that she's been accused. I'm annoyed that no reason was provided for that accusation. Kae is going to be annoyed when he finds someone calling his little sister an Inquisitor.
  3. Verre Siaron says that I'm a spiked, soulless murderer. What in the name of Kelsier is he on? I don't get how I'm supposed to be an Inquisitor -- I think I'd have noticed if I had spikes for eyes and was hearing voices. And Kae would have noticed too. I'm not even going to dignify that accusation with a response. Sorry, Verre doesn't react well to people calling her spiked. Reasons please?
  4. That was brutal. And amazing. And... pretty violent too. Is the Organization working for France?
  5. Verre Hopefully I've been scanned, Verre wrote. I've never realized how much I like my private conversations with others until now. Two people, Kwon and Sumath Caelum, wanted Myte dead, but it didn't make any effect. Were they too sleepy for their arguments to have an effect, or was this a cast of emotional manipulation?
  6. Verre I got Kwon to explain, and apparently feruchemical tin works differently than I thought it did (thanks P. Hatt, you were so helpful with your misinformation). Operation Windwhisper is a better plan than I thought. I'm open to it, but I really want to start talking to people soon. This open discussion thing is getting old... There's a nameless, stinky man (Stink) off in the distance that keeps on ranting about bringing down the Final Empire. Maybe he's the killer? He hasn't contributed much to the discussion.
  7. Problems with Operation Windwhisper: -Eliminators can create PMs with themselves and other people and say that they "aren't available" for scanning -Eliminators who don't talk much in docs can abstain from the doc and offer themselves up for scanning -Self-identification of being scanned can lead to eliminators fakeclaiming that they were scanned, and if asked for name of windwhisper they can say that scanner doesn't want to be known
  8. Verre Arsel insists that we lynch someone, or call for someone to be lynched. I don't see how this makes the murderers easier to find -- don't they want to kill people? If we kill people to find the murderers and the murderers kill people for whatever reason, won't we have nobody left? Kwon doesn't seem to care that I'm calling for his death. He's calling for my death, of course, but he's so sleepy that nobody's taking him seriously. I don't actually want him dead, of course, but I think that Operation Windwhisper isn't that good of a plan.
  9. What's a General Conference?
  10. Verre Verre walked back to her notebook having quenched her thirst, if not her hunger. She picked up her pen, dipped it in ink, and scribbled on the page to test if it was working. Then she reread what she'd wrote before going to get a drink. Kae has a very good memory. Something is wrong, almost like the time before the Catecendre that the prophecy was altered, and it isn't Kae's memory. Something -- gut intuition, maybe -- tells me that this is due to bad writing. The textbooks that Kae's using were written by a P. Hatt. Probably just a sloppy researcher... Verre frowned. She didn't remember drawing that conclusion. She set the pen against the page and scratched out the last paragraph. Then she began writing as fast as she could. For some reason, I keep on thinking about how Ruin was able to alter text. Ruin's gone now, right? The Holy First Witness replaced it as Harmony, and the Lord of the Mists rebuilt the world. So why do I keep on thinking about that moment? Harmony doesn't go around changing what people write in their journals. That's too petty. Verre stopped to rest her hand for a moment and looked down at the journal. Hadn't she crossed that paragraph out? She swore she remembered scratching it out. What in the name of the Survivor was going on? Either I'm going crazy, she wrote, or the text is changing as I write. The words blurred for a moment, then cleared up. Don't worry, the words said, you're not crazy. Rust and Ruin, what was happening? Are you Harmony? Verre wrote. Again, the words blurred and changed. LOL, they said. Nah, just some bored GMs. You know, it's not a good idea to be asking this right now. We're kind of breaking the rules by talking to you. What was this... or these...GMs saying? What is a GM? Verre asked. The words morphed even before Verre finished writing her question. All you need to know is that this is what happens when 3 troll GMs walk into a doc. Doc? Verre wrote. Her head swam with all these unknown phrases. Do you mean doctor? What are trolls? You still haven't explained what a GM is. Forget it, the words said. We probably should wipe this conversation from your mind. Can't have a character become self-aware, that leads to bad things. Character? Verre scrawled Wait, what does that mean? I'm a character? Bye Verre. Nice talking to you, the text said. Don't look up, that'll make it more painful. Verre immediately looked up and saw... a giant needle falling from the sky? It fell point first, defying all rules of gravity that Verre knew. She shrieked and covered her head. The needle stabbed into Verre and she blacked out. Verre woke up next to her notebook and pen. She felt like she was... missing something. There was a hole in her, maybe not her physical body but in some essential part of her, the part that made her Verre. She... she'd been doing something, right? Verre couldn't remember. It must be spiritual damage. Verre only remembered experiencing that once, but she remembered how she had fixed it. She fumbled with the gold bracelet on her wrist and pinched part of it off with her fingernails. Then, she popped it into her mouth and burned it. A familiar warm sensation ran through her. Verre could feel that hole in herself repairing, patching itself up until it was good as new. She sighed happily. Gold compounding was so useful, she didn't know how Kae managed without it. Verre must have been writing before she'd fallen asleep. She read over what she'd written, just to get her thoughts back on track. Something -- gut intuition, maybe -- tells me that this is due to bad writing. The textbooks that Kae's using were written by a P. Hatt. Probably just a sloppy researcher... None of this is canon. Happy April Fools (again)!
  11. Verre Kae's been reading up about feruchemical tin. He's trying to prove that Kwon's plan is full of loopholes. Thing is, what the library resources say don't match up with his memory. They say that feruchemical tin is more powerful than what Kae remembers. Kae has a very good memory. Something is wrong, almost like the time before the Catecendre that Ruin changed the words of the prophecy. Something -- gut intuition, maybe -- tells me that this is due to supernatural intervention. The textbooks that Kae's using were written by a P. Hatt. That name strikes me as being off...
  12. Verre My employer just ran out of town. Rust and Ruin, why is everbody here convinced that the world is ending? Three deaths does not a massacre make. I have nothing better to do, so I went to the discussion and listen. I don't understand how Siaron is suspicious for wanting to become a savant. It's not like he's irrepairably ripping up his soul, right?
  13. Verre Millie's dead. Edrab's dead too, but he was a murderer and deserved to die, so it's not as bad. Apparently he had some metal spikes stuck through him, like the Steel Inquisitors of the past. Kae thinks that there's more of them here. He keeps on going to these discussion meetings to find the killer, and constantly natters on about some Tyrian Falls or other. It's not like he has anything else to do. He still doesn't have a job, and we've just been evicted. Turns out that last month we didn't pay, and that used up our deposit, so the rusting landlord kicked us out this month. So now Kae and I are out on the streets with some homicidal Inquisitor copycats. Lovely. The landlord burned most of the things we left in our rooms. I had to rescue this thing from a firepit, and it's still partially burnt. Kae's journal completely burnt up, so he's trying to find some paper. Needs it for his discussion. Everybody else is so worked up about the murders. ArSel says that Siaron did it, Siaron says that ArSel did it, and it's pretty much a mess right now. I think Kwon did it. His "plan" has so many holes in it that if it was a boat, it wouldn't make it out of the docks before sinking in the canal. Yeah, a windwhisper could listen in on people as they talk, but the murderer could just stay silent, or hold a private conversation with the other murders instead of having a big group meeting. And the only way we know that a windwhisper was listening would be if someone said that a windwhisper eavesdropped on them! Self regulation, much? Well, have to go now. Will finish putting down my thoughts later. Happy April Fool's day! In celebration of this day, Kae will be gone for at least the next 24 hours. What I said above about Kwon's plan is talking about circumstances before the feruchemical tin rule change. It's a better plan now, but at the time could be circumvented in many ways.
  14. Happy April Fool's day!

  15. Kae "That sounds like a good idea," Kae said. "If possible, we should have a way for the windwhispers to reveal their results without getting murdered." Kae paused. Some people had been talking about this last night, and he knew that some would disagree with what he was about to do. But he believed in setting an example, especially when it came to the truth. "Last night, I was in B2, the city square. I moved to A2 in the night. I would like to know where other people were in the night."
  16. Verre When Verre walked home from Kwon's metal shop, her pockets were heavy with vials upon vials of metal. Hopefully, this should be enough for the rest of the month. The sky was streaked with orange light as Verre walked through the city, and Verre's surroundings were edged with burnished gold. Verre ignored it all. After last night's party and the murder, she was feeling half-dead, and just wanted some sleep. 4 That was why Verre didn't notice the piece of paper on the door, or pile of possessions outside of the building, or the barred windows, until she almost walked face-first into the door. Verre flinched backwards just in time to stop herself from smashing into the door. Then she noticed a sheet of paper nailed to the door. What in the Survivor's name...? It was an eviction notice. EDIT: More stuff, because why not? Kae "MURDER! MURDER IN OUR CITY! MURDER!" Kae jerked awake. When had he fallen asleep? He'd been dreaming something about a murder in the streets, and a public discussion on how to catch the murderer... Wait. That wasn't a dream. That was what had actually happened last night. "MURDER! EDRAB KILLED MILLIE!" Kae looked up. A messanger stood at a corner of the street, panting. "MURDER!" the messanger said. "Edrab discovered with spikes! Accomplices still at loose!" Murder? Spikes? This... This sounded like the case of Tyrian Falls, which had developed a streak of murders every year around the same time of year for around three times (but it was possible that there were even more undocumented streaks of murders...) Typing on mobile is painful. Should we resume the discussion of whether to reveal our locations or not?
  17. Wonko is definetly sane. He's so sane that he's almost swimming in his own sanity. Sure, he may have cracked a bit in LG18, but out of everybody there he was the sanest, which in doctorspeak means that he's fine. I'll say that Nelaar is an aspiring doctor interested in skeleton and muscle structure.
  18. Nelaar of MR11 is interested in this guild. Kandra are like doctors, right? Doctors with a lot of knowledge of human physiology but no idea how to deal with live patients...
