  1. I think the use he was referring to was as the Dueling Pit. As Elorin says, Quote: "Sand masters haven’t fought one another for centuries--the Pit has become a conference room for the mastrells. But once, long ago, even sand masters were more barbaric. Back then, the Pit was a place where they were allowed to kill one another.”
  2. While Hoid might be the only worldhopper to travel to Taldain at the time of the novel, we know that one way or another both Khriss and Baon become worldhoppers, so unless something drastically changes the perpendicularity has to be somehow accessible by them.
  3. Along with this being an interesting change, what implications does it bring? Remember Kershtian women are supposed to be unassuming. What does it mean that she not only "betrayed" her people by joining the Hall, but she is also assuming a role of power and dominence despite being a Kershtian woman?
  4. I found the question of them getting drunk to be interesting, because when it is first mentioned that Sand Masters don't drink, Kenton makes it seem like there are serious consequences. “Oh, that’s right,” Delious said with a smile. “Sand master’s don’t drink, do they?” Kenton shook his head. “It does . . . strange things to us.” But then Drile and his buddies are drinking wine freely, just a few days before his battle to the death with Kenton. Wine was flowing freely, even though sand masters weren’t supposed to drink. Women had been brought to the room, and Drile’s supporters were enjoying a period of loose debauchery. Could the "no drinking" thing be another lie from the mastrells, similar to the overmastery thing? Interesting to note that there are exactly three days after the party, so could the effects only last as long as overmastery? (Edit: I can't figure out how to properly format these quotes, can someone help me? Thanks!)
  5. I'm not sure what the rules are with this kind of thing are, but I have a picture from the preview of the graphic novel where you can see that Ais is now a woman! (If this is against the rules to share this I'm sorry! I'm new to posting in the forums!)
  6. They weren't in an urgent state that early in the book, and after reading through chapters 5 and 6 again, I'm sure that it is just a continuity error which makes me sad because those are usely few and far between! (I hope I used the quotations correct!)
  7. I don't know if this counts, but when Marasi is at the Govenor's first speech and she uses her Cadmium bubble she mentions that she made sure she had filled her reserves after the embarrassment that morning, but the events with the Marksmen happened the day before if I remember right. Sorry I don't have the exact quote, I loaned my book to my friend and he hasn't returned it yet!
  8. So this is my first post, and I don't know if this is the right spot to put this theory, but I had an interesting thought about something TenSoon said to Wax. I don't know the exact quote, but he tells Wax that he,Wax, is Harmony's Ruin and he, TenSoon, is Harmony's Preservation. This struck me as odd, because what did Harmony do for 300+ years before Wax came along? And what was he going to do after Wax died? I think that Paalm was Harmony's Ruin originally. That would explain the constant comparison between her and TenSoon, and also that her lover, Wax, would take upon the mantle after she went rogue.
