Could it be made of Nalthian metal alloys? Why use Scadrial only alloys, when Nalthian alloys may have similar/better metals for creating awakened metals. Another mysterious sword was made by/for Vivenna, likely using local metals, better metals than the theory the OP posits.

Kaladin doesn't love her, she reminded him of the feeling Tien gave him which took the weight of the world he felt. Not romantic love, platonic.

Thank you RShara and Alderant. You have convinced me sufficiently. I wish I was more familiar with Brandon's words to fans as you both are. I only dabble in Cosmere matters as this clearly shows. I have been trounced magnificently.

Since Ati is dead Brandon would agree no more atium is produced (it's no longer called "Ati"um) The small wells that coalesced Ati's body/power/force has been altered to appear in some hidden place Harmony only knows and the form of power will be changed too, since Harmony can't eat lil god candies. Probably a vapor he is attuned to just like Vin attuned the night mists. The metal Wax found inside Bleeder wasn't a Scadrial metal. Enemy invested metal from Odium, Autonomy, (insert theorized shard here) If wax and tensoon went through a perpendicularity, they would be in Shadesmar, where Kelsier went to meet Fuzz. That small pinch of Preservation that was added took thousands of years to weaken Leras, nowhere near the level of power Ruin was missing when Sazed absorbed Ruins mind, not body/force/power. My plot suggestion only theorizes the extinction level calamity the Splinters of Adonalsium are playing at. I'm not mentioning the other plots the human heroes must play. I'm not giving away the book plot. Just wondering if you all think I might be right. Harmony is definitely two distinct and seperate shards (Ruin's shard being only partly powerful. He had to separate them from each other inside his mind. Being so disciplined with copperminds likely helped him. Harmony is not completely two full shards, hence his difficulties banishing Scadrial's enemy shard. He has difficulties acting in the world because he isn't at full strength/potency. The red force pressing on the world, as wax saw it scared Harmony because he's incomplete right now. (The book hasn't come out yet for fiture visitors to this thread) Scadrial's spiritual realm still leaks power/mists at nighttime like it used to, hence something is still wrong. More thoughts? (Sorry for misspelling, autocorrect sucks on my phone)

Just finished up The Hero of Ages for an unknown number of re-reads. It's no coincidence that Mistborn's second era takes place 300 years after Kelsier destroyed the Pits of Hathsin, right. Not 200 years, or 500 years. We were told it would be 300 years before Atium could be harvested again. Ruin couldn't annihilate Scadrial because he was missing his body/power/Atium. He was incomplete. Powered but not powerful. Vin's body absorbed all the mist from the skies, so Sazed absorbed a full and complete shard. When Sazed absorbed the dark smoke from Ati's body, he only absorbed an impotent shard, a half-shard perhaps, incomplete. Powered, not even close as powerful as Vin's shard. Harmony still needs the power that Ati/Ruin never got. Harmony is currently under attack from Odium? Or some other shard wanting to remove all life from the sphere. (The Set) Perhaps it's Hoid doing his Adonalsium Round-up Tour, kidding. So, I presume that Harmony moved the Hathsin shardpool/perpendicularity to some crazy hidden underground/underwater inaccessible place waiting for the well/pool/hot tub to fill up again. Marsh is likely guarding it. Harmony likely changed the form of the power from happy lil' god candies to another form, perhaps a cozy hot tub that Harmony could dip his toes in. Thus making him complete, at last. Once he is two completely powerful shards he will toss Odium away from his system for good. Until era three and a cast of all new characters. Thoughts?

Ok, Kaladin should learn to lash matter, he already lashes other people so duh. Isn't that lashing still Gravitation, not Adhesion? Do both Windrunner surges combine for the 3 lashings? Or does Adhesion work for sticking stuff with stormlight? Is it the Skybreakers and Dustbringers with the TnT Telepathy? Division. As an aside... I'm slightly bummed no one got to get Shardplate at all. I know pacing pacing across 10 novels. Someone should have gotten his 4th, Dalinar hopefully since he is guarded only by his uniform. Which Flashback character is next for Book 4? Graphic Audio says May-April for their "Movie in your Mind" version of Oathbringer. Cannot wait, just fidget and hmmmm like Pattern does so often. Thanks Seons all.

I've had this feeling since Shadows of Self-ish where Sazed hates criminals but must allow them to be (he prompted technology not to advance as he wished for us). He confessed his flaws to a lawman who he "seems" to be favoring quite a lot. Wax's advanced age is also giving me pause for one day grooming him for Ascension in case the "red haze" tries to eliminates all life on this sphere and then game over for Mistborn. We know Sazed is pacifist, Wax is not, just like Vin with her new Ascension. 80's computer era Mistborn may only come to pass once Sazed's "gifts" for the sufferaged ash-era people are gone from the Elendel Basin (garden of eden) and technology will burst wide open. I have suspicions that the Shards of Scadrial may be under new management at that time. More thoughts?
-
I was thinking more along the lines of Scadrial characters. Which may take up his mantle? Marasi has a vast education and knowledge of groups and characteristics. Wax has the age and wisdom, understands metallic arts and criminal behaviors. Steris and Wayne, eh, maybes.

Szeth, using his surges at the ending of Words of Radiance threw a table at someone, Adolin I think. Does this mean Kaladin will, or can currently do the same with his surges. He has Gravitation mastered well. Does anyone suspect he can do it, or he just hasn't been showed how to yet by Syl or another Windrunner? I doubt his 4th ideal is in the way, Szeth was told after 3rd ideal he could use Division now. I recall some passage in some book that said Windrunners could destroy items with the barest thought. Any thoughts?

Are we SURE it's Odium attacking Harmony at Scadrial? If Harmony had to divest himself of power to keep them away from Odium. He has admitted to being trapped and at odds with his dual natures in the final Letter in Oathbringer. I wonder what character he might choose as successor? Have you? Any thoughts?

Being a lowly spearman, can I get an explanation of: What are the Releasers? Who/what is Bo-Ado-Mishram? Does Odium's "Sibling" predate the arrival of Honor/Cultivation's failed planet of Surgebinders arrival upon Rosharan stone? Long before Honor's fracture/Tanavast's death one could assume the 3 realms were unified at that point, like Nalthis for example. Might the Dawncities and Dawnsingers have predated the Heralds and Knights in coping with humans living peacebly with Odium's passions and rule/worship over the native Rosharans? On another note: Has Gavilar's light-sucking gemheart/gemstone, from Oathbringer's prologue appeared at any point after Szeth absconds with it from book one? Thank you Heroes of the Cosmere.

[OB] Missing Jasnah survives chapter?
tabitreader replied to tabitreader's topic in Stormlight Archive
Disregarding plot lines. Shouldn't an Elsecaller not be able to be stuck in Shadesmar? That's like saying Kaladin can't Lash after he's already in the air. Where would you guess her exit point was at? To meet Wit.- 17 replies

I recall partly reading a teaser chapter from BS from Jasnah's POV after she Elsecalled into Shadesmar from the Winds Pleasure and presumably saved Shallan's life and the trunk. I didn't finish reading it, I read Oathbringer and don't remember this scene included. Why? Please where can I find this scene once more?

Fantastic work OP. You've scratched crumbs off a much bigger worldbuilding sensation that will leave us reeling of Sanderson genius-spren. If Dalinar united all 3 realms near that Urithiru gemstone ignition pillar, wouldn't all the gems come to life and wake the tower? Thank you for your realizations. Keep them coming hero.

Well of Ascension question about Ashweather Cett seems unasked
tabitreader replied to tabitreader's topic in Mistborn
Stupid audio books! "Air" and "Heir" shouldn't sound the same, make the dictionary people and all English speaking communities change this at once. Since Scadrial does have things in the air, making it unique, except maybe for Roshar and spren buzzing, flitting, flying, hopping, leaking all about everything all the time, must be quite strange over there. What an audible blunder. Can it be so simple? Just Vin attacking Cett at the Hastings manor? A confirmation that the "Heir" really did kill the Lord Ruler and bested him. I've been googling this question all morning, nothing online...so far. Well of Ascension near the end. Vin just slaughtered Straff on his horse, meanwhile at Cett's camp he is taunted by his daughter to help Luthadel, not Straff. Cett ponders why he thought he could seize Luthadel with no Allomancers, then he says this: "Or was it because I was looking for something, a confirmation of the stories, a power like I saw on that night when the air almost killed me." This piqued my interest suddenly. Was Cett snapped by the mist? No, surely he hasn't cowered indoors his whole life like a skaa. I thought about the Mist Spirit aka Preservation. Did Preservation stab Cett? No, he wants stasis, balance, he wouldn't even stab Elend without another spirit forcing him to. But wait, didn't Alendi's party suffer a stab wound on the way to the Well? Perhaps he could attack after all. Did Ruin stab Cett? Could he? All people aid Ruin even if they don't mean to, so why "nearly kill" a pawn in his game. Or, did Preservation's original millennial plan to bring about the Hero of Ages "need" Cett stabbed to coerce him to seize Luthadel and set in motion all the pieces and events needed? Any thoughts? Sorry if this question has been asked and answered, as I said...been googling all morning. Sorry about the stream of consciousness gab earlier. What was Brandon Sanderson referring to with that sentence?

So much non fiction science debate about a fictional element. My best guess is there must be rare Southerners who became Mistings, just as Alendi did in his time, pre Rashek. These rare Mistings guided by their Sovereign, used Harmonium and became their "Fire Fathers and Fire Mothers," because now only Twinborns are allowed, excluding Spook, Marsh, Sovereign. I doubt Sazed would grant Full Feruchemy just by tapping his metal. Sazed wants tech progress and he placed a Shard Pool in the South, for without it, we may not have the genesis of the Ghostbloods in the Cosmere. Let Brandon fill in the blanks of our knowledge, for he knows best.
-
Harmony realized ingesting god-metals was too powerful for his revised Scadrial. It appears that Harmony wants it to be used in Technological items for the Southerners (he likely felt bad about pushing Scadrial further away from it's star/sun.) We already see it motivating air travel and ultimately space travel as the Eras pass. Harmony repeatedly pushes Northerners to become more tech savvy. Now that Harmony is thinking realmatically and of the Adonalsium of the Cosmere. He provides tools for Scadrians to journey to other shard worlds. P.S. A small curiosity of mine centers on Hoid and his solid nugget of Preservation and how he grants himself power from it without ingesting the whole thing. He must be a true technological, realmatic master to be in the Cosmere and not be a creation of Adonalsium's powers, yet use them as he does. I see why Hoid is Brandon's favorite character. At least I remember reading that somewhere.
-
The first time Vin burned Allomantic Gold, she claimed she "felt" a possible alternate Vin. Kelsier made it seem that she must be mistaken. Given all the manipulations by Ruin and the grand plan put in motion by Preservation ages ago. Did she truly feel herself?
-
Summarizing that both of Sazed's shards must have Shardpools/Perpendicularities. Location will be different as he reshaped the seas, continents, etc. The Southerners likely found it by mining, which we know they're good at. God metals made the Era 1 trilogy (mists, well, Lerasium bead, Atium geodes/beads) much richer, what shall it do for Era 2? Sazium?
