Theory: Taravangian saw the Spiritual Realm
Yata replied to Torrieltar's topic in Stormlight Archive
Mr T has in own house the greatest library of the world. He may manipulate Roshar's Knowledge with some effort. Remember also that we don't know if he began to gather Death Rattle before or after the Ultra-Mega-Super-Smart Day... Some of deductions may actually come from future knowledge (from the Death Rattle) that He manage to understand and put together in that day. I don't want to say Mr T didn't see the actual future, just He has a lot of sources of Information. His Knowledge before the Day may be comprensive of some cryptic future clue. -
Months ago, I was convinced that the Honorblade-Herald relationship was exacly the same of Divine Breath-Returned's one and also if the Heralds left them, they are still bonded...other users are just borrow the Honorblade. Then someone give me quite counterproofs (now I don't remember what they were) that made me discharge the idea (for the one interested I now think more about "Honorblades are some kind of divine Fabrial and the Heralds a Great Roshar's keeper from before H&C arrive").

I think Vasher is in the same situation of Shallan with her Illusion. His body needs Investiture and absorb a little of the Investiture who would leak out. Probably if He drawn a bigger amount of Investiture. His body will began to glow. If he would be able to absord the red lightning, probably for him it will be just like stormlight nothing more and nothing less. We know that Vasher has not figurate yet how to perform Awakening with Stormlight and I think he will never find a decent way. To me Vasher may awaken things or lifeless or whatever he want with Stormlight, just the Stormlight is not sticky as Breath and would not last on anything. Maybe just inside Gemsones because they may keep Stormlight....except that we know Gemstones mess with Stormlight infusion and therefore they may simply store the Stormlight without become awakened

Actually the bonding Honorblade is quite doubtful at this point I remember a WoB who said you actually don't bond an Honorblade. anyway as @Jondesu said the problem with the Divine Breath is a bit hard to solve, some have theorizated that a Returned is actually a Divine Breath with some imprint of the former human who inhabit the corpse...This dea may have some merit, but I don't think it the right one. My interpretation (that can be better or worse than other ideas) is about the timing and a Divine-Breath's lifecycle. I explain myself better, Endowment wants to create a new Returned. Find the right candidate, made a deal with him/her and Splinter a part of the Shard's power to made a Divine Breath. This DB separated by anykind of control began to develop a "mind" (probably a divine breath keeps more Investiture than Radiant Spren, Seon and Skaze) but soon it will be bonded with the Returned-candidate. It now has again a mind to guide its and the developing mind stop to grow. This to say that to me, the divine breath have a low level probably more instinct than thought mind. PS: This is false. The peculiar state of Lift doesn't change anything in Wyndle's transition. Himself said He took precautions to avoid the problem but at the end He failed in preserving his own mind

Except than Vasher during his fight with Denth don't notice nothing strange in the other Returned's performance. Vasher seems to think that it's all in the possibilities of a Returned. But we may know only that Tonk Fah and Denth was born on Nalthis as sure deducible fact, they may (but I find the thing without a real base) have Hemalurgic Spike. But nothing in their action seems suggest to me they have some extra foreign power. EDIT: Notice that a Returned is often defined by his own Cognitive Aspect, if Denth focused for centuries to train himself. He or better his view of himself would allow him to move to an actual Supernatural Speed. Other Returned as Lightsong, are leterally kept far from discover every possibilites gifted from their Returned status.

The CR isn't as malleable as Tel'aran'rhiod... You has probably a great control over your own Cognitive Aspect but the rest is quite out of your control, because you have to overcome other things' identity to change them. Probably there are ways to trasport matter from a point A to a point B but they are specific powers as for example the Trasportation Surge (if the Oathgate work with that Surge)

Actually we know that Rayse chosed to not pick up the Shard he killed to avoid some Intent-Shift. He fits to well with the Odium Shard. But nothing prevent him (for information we have) for picking another Shard if he wants
-
No problem man Just to explain better, when someone wordhops (at least the only method we know so far), he shifts in the Cognitive Realm (CR). Once there he have to actually go where he want to arrive and then re shift in the Physical realm in a new planet (like if the planet in the CR are actually fuse together in some points) This because the distances in the Cognitive Realm are different. The place without a Cognitive presence simply don't exist there...this mean that the void between planet is no more. You may actually walk from Scadrial's CR to Roshar's CR but it took time. There are other problems about moving in the Cognitive but at the moment are meaningless to this topic. But just to say, in the book we have a single direct report of a travel in the Cognitive. This character spent weeks to arrive at his target and his target was still in the same planet (this specific character was also peculiar enough to avoid some issues of a travel in the CR)

@Thunder_93 Feruchemist don't snap..They born already with their power. Also, a Feruchemist (and a Ferring) feels some affinity when he is in contact with a storable metal. Therefore I really think that simply every child are tested to see if they have a Feruchemical ability. It's quite easy to do. you have just to give tham a bar made by sections of the 16 metals and ask them if they feel something strange while they run their hand on it (there are tons of way to make this test)
-
Nightblood may feed of every kind of Kinetic Investiture. This mean Breath, Stormlight, Mist, Feruchemical Charge, Allomantic power, Dor,... (I have some problem to remember more).... and of course the soul of someone he wields it.
-
The mixing between Terrismen and people with allomantic genes...made the Feruchemy less powerful and the Ferring began to born. Actually someone may be a Twinborn (aka a Misting and Ferring) but it's pretty rare among the popolation because F-Genes and A-Genes don't work well together. Also Twinborn can't know to be a Twinborn at the first. He starts as Ferring, one day he snaps and discovers to be a Twinborn. For example Wax at the beginning thinks to be a Iron Ferring but one day (pretty young as far we saw), He snapped and discoverd to be also a Coinshot

Worldhopping requires weeks-months only for the travel in the Cognitive (without all the other problem about find a perpendicularity and reach it) you can't vanish for a couple of days for an of world adventures and then return.

Actually this is a well knowed theory, if you search in the Selish topic of the last year (or at least last months) you will find tons of similar explainations. Anyway I agree with the "distance from the Dor" problem...But this is actually just half of the problem. This explain where you can't use Selish magics off world and how certain areas may have more Dor than other. But don't actual explain the reason you can't obtain "foreing" Dor. Someone tried to theorizate the existence of something like "NationSpren" and the Sel's magic users are bonded with their own nationSpren. But this idea has also other problems SA Spoiler: I think we may wait another couple on months, where we will recive relevant Informations about Sel and its misteries (Arcanum Unbounded will be avaliable the 8 November)

This actually reduce greatly how much the Diagram predicted (much more if we considerate that the Diagram may be written a lot of time later than Gavilar's death). Thanks I didn't read this WoB

After many years spent with the sacred duty to use the Soulcaster gifted by the Almighty. I took some vacation beyond the limits of Shadesmar, I visited a nice place, it's called Threnody. It's really strange, Shin's plan everywhere, weird animals ans strange creatures called Shades (but I am quite sure they are Voidbringer).... Ah right, one of them killed me.

This would be nice, but we saw how the Herald arrive on Roshar...Therefore is really unlikely. Actually the Craters's origin is quite a mistery....I can't find a likely origin, just weak ideas In the end, we know too little about the event that Shattered the plains to speculate about the craters...

Elantris 2 will be set 10-20 years in the future with the Serene's cousins as main characters... It's the reason Brandon spent so much time with Kin's family (probably outside the Arelon region)

I always see that Death Rattle as "Ten men before an army of angry Odium's Listeners" but it's possible.

This is a bit funny, I explain myself. The grit system in its origin was an idea made by the Ancient Romans. They exported where they conquered and after a while other popolations saw the comfort in that....But in Italy we don't build city following that system Anyway actually as far as I know the grit system is awful for the modern era... It was designed where the vehicles was just a minority (and I talk about carts and other similar). Now with the modern lifestyle there are too vehicles to be used without problem and the city itself are too big to work well with it. I know there are studies about new urban designs to try to fix our city to be not so stressful. But the Grit System is probably among the system we have to forget. Another factor you have to consider is about the space and time (yeah it seems a joke) in Europe. Space:In Europe, many countries have no big plots of land to build. We have some hard limitation about "where build" and how to don't waste space. Time: Our town are usually old very old (as I said in a previous post), many are villages with a progressive grow became full city. Nobody thought 1000 years ago that an hamlet at 30 km from Rome will began bigger than the 1000-years-old-Rome... But it's happened.

I am really unsure about this....but I like this theory, I like it a lot PS: It a bit vague, but I remember a reference to the past importance of the Purelake in the Desolations...something about an unknown Fortress.
