  1. For anyone who wants a peek, there are no spoilers: LG108?: A Tale of Rats and Spores Game Premise 10 years after the events of Tress and the Emerald Sea, you will board The Rat's Tale—a great ship and Sprouter institution that trains recruits how to manipulate spores and navigate the Twelve Seas. Every player is therefore a Sprouter by default, but will be split into ranks that have different capabilities. The majority will begin Novices, some will begin Apprentices, and few will begin as Masters. Apprentices will have a PM with their Master and all Masters will share a doc. Ranks can be progressed via consistent active participation (see: Experience and Promotions). Player Factions Royal Loyalists are the innocent, uninformed majority whom justly serve the Verdant Kingdom. They win upon removing all Midnight Cultists from the ship, one way or another. Midnight Cultists are the corrupted, informed minority who seek to avenge the Midnight Sorceress. They share a doc to freely conspire. They win upon reaching parity with the Royal Loyalists. Day / Night Cycle 48 Hour Days. Day 1 will not have an execution, but from Day 2 onward, a player must be voted out to walk the plank. Additionally, every Day, there will be X/Y Spores available for players to claim from the Stores (other than Zephyr Spores, which are infinite). Players can only claim 2 Spores each Day regardless of their rank. However, Masters will be able to give an extra Spore of their choice to one of their Apprentices each day via their GM PM. Players can also trade both Spores and Spore Pots via their GM PM during either turn. 24 Hour Nights. During the night, all players have access to three actions: Study: Double your experience gained this cycle; Prepare (Pot): Craft a Spore Pot and gain +5 XP; Sprout (Pot): Expend a Spore Pot to use its effect and gain +5 XP. Giving another player a Spore or Spore Pot is a free action. Additionally, one Midnight Cultist can submit an untraceable kill (they will not leave the cabin, as they will use a Midnight familiar) for their action. Spores, Pots, and Sprouting All Spore Pots require 1 Zephyr Charge and N Secondary Charges to prepare, where N is the rank of the effect. If a Sprouter of a lower rank attempts to prepare or use a Sprout Pot of a higher rank, there will be a chance of failure. Zephyr and Zephyr Novice: Create a PM with target that expires in 1 Cycle. Apprentice: Create a PM with target that expires in 2 Cycles. Master: Create a Group PM with up to three targets that expires in 2 Cycles. Expert: Create a PM with up to three targets that never expires. Zephyr and Verdant Novice: If your target leaves their cabin, block their action. Apprentice: If your target leaves their cabin, block their action and the action of their target. Master: If your target leaves their cabin, block their action, the action of the target, and the action of everyone else who targets them. Expert: If your target leaves their cabin, imprison your target until you decide to release them, blocking all actions from and to them. Zephyr and Sunlight Novice: If your target leaves their cabin, discover their target. Apprentice: If your target leaves their cabin, discover their target and action. Master: If your target leaves their cabin, reveal their target and action in thread. Expert: If your target leaves their cabin, reveal their alignment in thread. Zephyr and Crimson Novice: You will fail to safely prepare this into a Pot, inflicting Wound on yourself. Wounded require 1/2 of active players to vote for them to be healed or they will die at the end of the Cycle. Apprentice: If your target leaves their cabin, inflict a Wound. Master: If your target leaves their cabin, inflict a Fatal Wound. Fatally Wounded require 3/4 of active players to vote for them to be healed or they will die at the end of the Day. Expert: If your target leaves their cabin, kill them! Zephyr and Roseite Novice: Shield yourself with crystal, protecting you from one action. Apprentice: Shield any target, protecting them from one action. Master: Shield any target or yourself, protecting from all actions. Expert: Shield another player and yourself, protecting from all actions. Zephyr and Midnight Novice: Investigate target's stock. Cannot be Detected or Blocked. Apprentice: Steal one random Spore or Pot from target's stock. CbDoB. Master: Steal two random Spores or Pots from target's stock. CbDoB. Expert: Steal all Spores and Pots from target's stock. CbDoB. Experience and Promotions Every Cycle, players can earn +10 XP via active participation (+5 for 5 discussion posts, +5 for 5 roleplay posts, which can be 5 posts total or 10 separate). Studying doubles the amount of XP you would gain that cycle (10 to 20, 6 to 12, etc). Preparing Pots, Sprouting Pots, and Cultist Kills all earn +5 XP. This means the max any player can get is 20 with Studying or 15 with a night action. Upon gaining an amount of Experience within a Rank, players will be automatically promoted the next Day, which will be announced in the thread. Novices promote to Apprentice upon earning +50 XP. Masters will have the next Day to pick in their doc who will get a PM with them in the Night. Apprentices promote to Master upon earning +60 XP. A new Master Doc will be made in which the old Masters must decide on a single Apprentice to give each newcomer. Masters promote to Experts upon earning +70 XP. In order to become an Expert, Masters have to declare a specific Spore they wish to specialize in. From then on all activity XP will count for this, but only actions involving the relevant spore will earn XP. Optional Roles King’s Mask: Begins the game as an Expert for all spores. Can belong to any Rank and either Faction. Spore Eater: A gestator of spores, you do not need Pots to use abilities of your related affliction... at a cost. Can belong to any Rank and either Faction.
  2. I have Monday (today/tomorrow) off so can get the Tress rules done. Otherwise we could ask the people like Steel who wanted to run a game but I beat them to the punch
  3. Thanks for running this, Joe was fun, and definitely agree that having 2 Gods give their Breaths at once would make it less vanilla, although I certainly didn't mind sometimes discussion is all you need
  4. It happens, usually at exlo (which we are in now). If there are 3 elims and 4 villagers, the only way that we win the exe is if every villager votes together, so there's really no reason for the elims to not coordinate. The problem rn is if e!Doc is following me because I am said villager eating their own or if it's the Penguin voters (Coder, TOW) protecting e!KSauce
  5. All good friendo, don't stress too much, though we're probably on the last cycle unless we exe an elim (assuming we are 4v-3e right now), so if you're village we need all hands on deck to participate Yeah, honestly I feel kinda bad for planting the seed in Hoid's head =\ I only wanted him to be cautious about trusting Araris too much, not immediately go into kill mode I was honestly coming around to VillageBro!Araris during our C3 rapport. I also wish I had remembered we could extend the day by voting last minute because I would have swapped just to swap back. Probably didn't help that I was multi-screening this game and Silksong lol Oh and I'll definitely get to RP unfortunately sometimes I just got to be in the mood for it / it's harder to do once I start hyperfixating on solving. I was planning on having a slow reveal of Kosm's deal but the idea was that she was a dragon child pop star / music idol type deal that retired / ran away after finally aging up enough to gain their own agency. Nowadays they prefer keeping to themselves and observing / studying the world rather than being the one observed / studied by the world
  6. I think it's worth noting I saw both Worldhopper and Coder present for EoD, but they did not post. That puts TOW back on the table for me. Really wish Hoid just consolidated on Coder but oh well, we've all got free will and what not
  7. I'll give you as much a shot as anyone else to prove your village, but if it's not you, and it's not me, and it's not Coder, then you are suggesting a BBB/Penguin/Doc team?
  8. When the village starts eating their own, the vultures come to feast
  9. I probably will have to, yeah, if we don't have the numbers / time for Termina Abandoned
  10. Wait Hoid died lmao, I'm dumb Kaladin I am like 99% confident in a Coder/KSauce team right now, third can be anyone
  11. And Hoid has been demoted from lock town lol
  12. Lynch or lose / Execute or lose. Basically the very last chance the village has before parity
  13. To be clear I would prefer getting a partner before you, but I totally get where you're coming from. I'd just say it's not a foregone conclusion.
  14. Despite me being suspicious of Penguin, I am kinda tempted to vote KSauce ngl probably for a bad reason but I feel like elims are more likely to be keeping track of the extra votes + keeping the village up to date on them is easy cred. I do think v!Araris is more likely to self-vote than e!Araris. You just referred to Araris as experienced, which means you need to account for e!him already considering that someone might call them out on that. But if he is willing to bow out and focus on IRL stuff (I know he started a new job recently), he's got that agency, so I won't exactly stop him. I am curious though @Araris Valerian. Why don't you think I should be on the table for the exe tomorrow?
  15. Humans are irrational, friend I've seen it happen lots and have done it myself. I would say 8/10 times its a frustrated villager
  16. @KaladinsSenseOfHumorSpren how do you feel about Coder and Penguin again? Would you be willing to vote either?
  17. I feel better about him after our back and forth yesterday. Enough that I'd prefer not to vote him today, in the off chance I'm meta tunneling, and also because the longer he's alive the more information we can get out of him. I might have openly admitted to trying to pocket e!Araris, but that does not mean I stopped trying to pocket him Essentially, I respect Araris' play both as a villager and as an elim to hear him out in either case. We've been hoping for a V/V game for a while but always end up opposed, so part of me is hoping that this is that game and I'm being paranoid for nothing If you don't want to vote Coder or BBB, I am down for considering Penguin or KSauce as an alternative today.
  18. FTR I do think his response to my starting elim Bondsmith theory was a tell but I also think Araris is a better exe candidate for tomorrow Possible worlds right now are this: World One: E BBB, V Coder In this scenario, e!BBB is sacrificing himself. This would either imply his teammates are bussing him for long term gain (only KSauce) or that he's gone rogue and his teammates are either staying out of it (Penguin) or voting the CW (me, Araris, Doc). World Two: V BBB, E Coder My current worldview, mostly because I feel like BBB escalated to a self-vote way too quickly to be a sane / faithful elim. In this scenario his team is either sticking onto BBB (KSauce) or are bussing him (me, Araris, Doc). Both TOW and Penguin aren't on the wagons, which might imply that they are not teamed with either BBB or Coder, but in TOW's case I doubt they're active enough to help. World Three: V BBB, V Coder In this world, at least one of Araris/Doc/me would need to be elim for that to work, but more likely two. In this scenario Penguin is very likely their third as there's no reason for him to get involved in yet another V/V cycle. World Four: E BBB, E Coder Not impossible, assuming that BBB got the agreement of his teammates to get bussed today. The question would then be if KSauce would join both of their teammates or if one of them would attempt a CW (Araris, Doc, Me) Personally I think Coder is the play today, as BBB voting himself increases the risk factor of a miss exe
  19. Oh so now you want to vote Araris who do you think his allies are?
