This book.
This gosh-dang book.
I can’t even be mad at the cliff-hanger ending (freaking SHALLAN!
) because this freaking book storming THERAPIZED ME!
I had half-a-dozen breakthroughs reading Kal and Shallan’s stories. I got more therapy in the time it took me to read this book than I’ve had in FIVE YEARS!
HOW?!??

I love his work because every book I picked up has guided me through my own issues. Vin's fear of trust, Kaladin's depression, Shallan's repression, Vivenna's redemption... it's been a little surreal.

"It's Tough to be a God" from the Road to El Dorado for Lightsong.

Rysn, once powered by her rage at her stupid Shin grass.
Who's more likely to give Kaladin a heart attack, Vin or Lift?
2 -
Leonardo DiCaprio: Hrathen? Why not?
Emilia Clarke: Sarene
Billy Crudup: Ahan
Charles Dance: Iadon. Definitely.
Scarlett Johansson: I mean, she's not the way I pictured her, but I can see her pulling off Karata pretty well.
Series: Mistborn Era 2.

What makes you think the Spren is innocent? Maybe that particular Cultivationspren is the Cultivationspren equivalent of a serial killer.
Fair enough, I suppose. Still, it would apparently be easy enough to re-kill, and then I would have the process needed to resurrect a truly innocent spren.
That, or I just specify that I want the Shardblade of a good spren.

A South-Scadrian medallion with Connection stored so I could speak to anyone in the Cosmere.
An Edgedancer shardblade.
Khriss' notes on Investiture, which I would use to somehow reawaken the dead spren in the Shardblade, therefore resurrecting an innocent being and also (hopefully) becoming a Radiant.

Her Pancakefullness will only accept the homemade pancakes if they were supposed to be yours. Then she will be more than happy to eat your breakfast, and may let you join her club.
Actually, I'd heard your dinner was the standard entry fee.

I actually don't think it would be that hard to make a compelling story involving all the characters. I look at it a bit like the Fellowship of the Ring: Shallan would be Gandalf, still important to the story but often in a different place. Dalinar would be Aragorn, with hints to when he'll take center-stage, and Frodo would be Kaladin: the story is still basically his. Szeth, of course, would have the Saruman scenes. And considering Jackson significantly augmented Aragorn's significance during the first film, I could actually see the Way of Kings film adaptation having the same amount of screen-time for characters and still managing to be slightly more faithful to the books.

I don't suppose Professor Khriss will be teaching Magic 101: An Overview of Magic in the Cosmere again, will she? Her online course Ars Arcanum looks interesting, and I know she's always busy out in the field, but I feel like I would understand it more if I could have her explain it in person.

*spoilers*
"Dalinar took one step forward, then drove his Blade point-first into the middle of the blackened glyph on the stone. He took a step back. 'For the brigdemen,' he said."
I still get chills.

I stumped it on Pattern, but it did guess TenSoon.

Currently working on a Well of Ascension trailer. What do you think should be included? The most important quotes or plotlines? I want to see your own takes too!

Well, the things that stood out to me when I read The Well of Ascension include:
The Well's Pulsing.
Tindwyl
Elend growing as a politician
Zane
OreSeur/TenSoon
The Church of the Survivor
Kwaan's Warning
and the Koloss
I may take a shot at a preview in a bit, but I have to go back through the book itself first.

Guys, let's not forget we have Era 2 to work with as well! Posters for the first would feature Wax, Wayne, and Marasi respectively. I imagine Wax with his back to the camera looking over his shoulder, maybe with his steel bubble. Wayne would be facing the camera with a mischievous grin and his dueling canes crossed. First thought with Marasi is her glancing up from her notebook, but I'm sure you guys can come up with something much more epic.

I don't really have a way for aluminum or duralumin as of yet, other than perhaps sudden, quick flares of light that perhaps show the reserves of metal emptying in a burst
What do you guys think?
I imagine you would have to use audio cues for Aluminum and Duralumin. Immediately associate a specific sound with each one and use the same sound every time it's used?
For the record, I have no experience with movie-making, so this might be completely crazy.

" When you're alone, no one can betray you"
"That's kind of what trust is, isn't it? A willful self-delusion." changed into "Trust is a willful self-delusion"
"The man who wants you to trust him is the one you must fear the most. "For Rashek, how about something from Alendi's journal? To mislead the audience more? " I never wanted to be feared." or " It began with me." or " I am growing so very tired." or maybe " I must not take the power for myself. "
Oooh, I like the way you think! I'm thinking "It began with me." Has a lovely, ominous ring to it.

For posters:
One of Kelsier in his mistcloak, Mists swirling around him while he Steelpushes into the air, and the words beneath read, "I am hope."
One of the Lord Ruler, possibly with his back to the camera if we want to keep his face a secret until the film comes out, two spears sticking out of him, with the caption, "There's always another secret."
And one of Vin, of course, but I couldn't figure out the right caption for her. :/

I think this is a really cool concept. Very well-thought-out and detailed.
My one concern is that the Cosmere chronology. IIRC, Elantris takes place 300 years before Mistborn or Warbreaker, so is it more advantageous to start with the most popular series (Mistborn), or the first in chronological order?

Maybe not underrated, per se, but I kinda wished we'd seen more from Jess, that girl that Kel rescued in the first prologue. She had some fire.

How about the Storm father? "You're all going to die. I'm sorry"
And whar would wyndle say?
Oooh, I love that idea for the Stormfather! I imagine his face stretching across a highstorm, maybe with a tiny Dalinar standing before him.
As for Wyndle, I could see a good portrait of him with his face formed, reading, "You've seen much death. Aren't you accustomed to it?" Either that, or, "This does not seem very well thought out."

Oh, poor baby turtles! I'll clean them up, then trade in the goo itself. Maybe it'll give someone super-powers.

Sigzil saving Vienta. I absolutely understand why she reacted the way she did in the end, but the moment was incredible.
Also, bonus moment was Lopen showing up to save him with all his cousins.
