  1. I already felt suspicious of you after the whole Shallan situation. From the wording of your original posts, it seemed like you were absolutely certain that Stink was a forger. However, your argument about the message does make sense. So, I'll retract my vote on Wilson for now.
  2. I was thinking each type of food is more or less the same, just different gameplay styles, if that makes sense. I figured that as you progressed through the game, you would gain access to more flavorful versions of each type.
  3. For the time being, I have different kinds of juice that will heal the player when consumed. Thinking that maybe eating spicy food and then using the magic (you have to consciously use it, otherwise restaurants would be disasterous) would radiate waves of heat or something. Also tentatively have some people who use pure spices for more focused attacks.
  4. Gylf pondered these words. Obviously, she had misunderstood Wilson. Since it seemed that Wilson was confident concerning John's (Stink) role on the ship, one who didn't listen to every single word would miss the statement. However, being so certain about this matter seemed odd. Concerning the message on the bathroom wall, could it merely be reverse psychology? ---------------------- She decided to leave the room for a bit, and walk along the passageways. Something had been bothering her about the whole situation. The moment that people had been able to whisper without being noticed, secrets were spilled, and information leaked. Fools. She supposed that she couldn't blame them, after all, no one wants a murderer on the loose. Aside from the accomplices, of course. As she walked down the hall, with only her ever-sputtering thoughts for company, she began to sing, under her breath. People typically stared if she sang any louder than a hummingbird. Fear not this night, you will not go astray. Though shadows fall, still the stars find their way. Awaken from a quiet sleep, Hear the whispering of the wind. Awaken as the silence grows In the solitude of the night. Darkness spreads through all the land And your weary eyes open silently. Sunsets have forsaken all The most far off horizons. Nightmares come when shadows grow. Eyes close and heartbeats slow. Disclaimer: I did not write this song, it's just a favorite of mine.
  5. Gylf gawked, then calmed herself. There were a few possible explanations for what was going on. 1) Wynde Wilson lies, John (Stink) tells the truth. In this scenario, John is either not a forger, and didn't claim to be one. This makes Wilson automatically very suspicious, in addition to whatever happened the day previous. 2) John lies, Wilson tells the truth. In this case, John revealed to Wilson his role as a forger, and is now claiming not to be a forger to induce suspicion of Wilson. 3) They both lie. In this conspiracy theory, they're both traitors trying to freak everyone else out. (This doesn't seem very likely). 4) Large miscommunication. If John's claim sounded vague enough, it could be possible that Stink wasn't roleclaiming when Wilson thought he was. (This also doesn't seem very likely since roleclaims aren't very vague). Gylf came to a conclusion; This whole situation comes down to who you trust more: John or Wilson. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At this point in time, I distrust Wilson not only because of this exchange, but because of his vote on Shallan yesterday. It seemed very much like the Ripple Effect all over again, or even the first day of MR8, where an eliminator was spared due to a last-minute lynch train instigated by an eliminator. Shallan probably didn't have much time to make any good analysis, so she did what she could, and got killed for it. The sudden vote on her doesn't seem right in my mind. If Day 1 lynches are supposed to promote discussion, how does killing someone at the very end of the cycle help? Also, what is up with the message on the bathroom wall? Who wrote that message? Is that something that the eliminators get to do? Edit: Retracted vote.
  6. Oh, my mistake.
  7. King's Taster... isn't that the one who makes sure that the king isn't poisoned? Congratulations for getting 450 upvotes, now your job is to die before the king does!
  8. So, a few months ago I got my hands on RPG Maker VX Ace, and I've been itching to create a game. I've been trying to learn all about game design (learned a lot thanks to Extra Credits) but I don't really know how to start it. Due to the technology I have at my disposal, it... a) must be a JRPG, with JRPG mechanics. This includes the dreaded turn-based fighting b ) cannot require a whole ton of coding. c) must have a gripping story. d) must be simple enough to present with ease. e) will not work with a mouse. You can use a keyboard or a controller, however. f) must have an old-looking nostalgic art style, such as: Lately, I've been kind of stuck as far as the story goes. I considered making an RPG version of Mistborn or something, but that would take a lot of effort for something I could never really share. My current original ideas: 1) A kind of bedtime story, told by a son to his father. It would kind of be an AU of the "real-life" setting, involving an alternate version of the son as the "hero," guided by the alternate version of the father, whom the player would play as. Medieval fantasy setting. I've got more of the story for this one, less of the world, but I don't know if it's any good. 2) A food based magic system. Basically, different flavors of food allow certain abilities to the magic users of this system. Would probably have a typical fantasy setting. This food-based magic would make consumables easy to explain. Don't really have a plot set out, but that might be for the best. As far as tools at my dispense, I have plenty of music, a (human) sprite generator, different tilesets and whatnot. I know that there are plenty of artistic and creative people here on the 17th Shard, so I am requesting help with story and world-building for the time being. Later on, I might need aid with some art things. Any advice?
  9. You get a note requesting monetary symbols rather than intangible emotions. *inserts sphere*
  10. I really like the ones with the white background.
  11. I think that it was a somewhat reasonable reason to lynch Shallan, aside from the fact that I didn't feel like it was specifically unhelpful. I see it (admittedly through the bias of having seen the result) as an attempt to contribute given time restraints and inability to go back and reread the entire day's worth of conversation. However, I can see how some would see it as redundant information. The lynch train itself seems more suspect to me than the motivations behind the initial votes.
  12. So, looking back, the whole Shallan lynch train is really, really odd. Why would a post making an effort to at least make some analysis, admittedly that no one has brought up yet, be suspicious enough to have a lynch train against? I wouldn't be surprised to find some eliminators on that train. Also, Creccio's last minute removal is very suspect. Does the eliminator kill not happen until after the Night shift is over? Also, I never got a chance to respond to this remark by Adavantos (for some reason it won't let me quote directly). "Ripple: Continues to put doubt into the plans of others without thinking them through fully (not including the fact that the HI can check the roles of anyone who approaches him)." While it is true that the HI can check the roles, it seems a waste to use them on people whose roles you are 99% sure about. That still leaves the possible 1%. Even if he did check, would he even find out before becoming corrupted? That is what I was trying to get at. I feel like I'm over-analyzing this plan a bit, but I don't think it is a guaranteed thing, and that's important.
  13. You get a completely understandable pug. *inserts an hour*
