The reason could simply be that the actual ceremony wasn't important to the story? We saw the preparation, we know it happened, why spend 20 more pages on "and then they stepped up to each other"? Wedding ceremonies are boring. (Except Klingon wedding. They're awesome.)

Granted. The teacher speaks in a horrbile Bavarian accent and no German outside of Bavaria will ever understand you. I wish for more vacation time.

I'm glad they didn't show the wedding. We already had one in OB and frankly I don't see the need.

The Tower as in The Tower at the Plains or the tower in the Kholin banner? I assume the latter, but I wanted to mention The Tower. Tower = house Kholin. Dalinar in person? Crown = of Alethkar? Elhokar? He's already dead. Spear = Def. Kaladin. Someone needs to pick up all three? Literally becoming head of house Kholin, ruler of Alethkar and ... Kaladin's position as leader of the Windrunners/Bridgecrews? Or are we talking about people? "Pick them up" as in taking them in? Like Dalinar took in Kaladin by the end of WoK? What is the "fallen title"?

Ah, thank you, that slipped past me while reading. But it still makes Kaladin the only one being referred to that way. (If I didn't miss more which is very possible.)

I don't know if that has been discussed before, I searched but didn't find a thread specifically on this or a WoB. Ever since I reread SA last fall I've been thinking about ch. 46 of WoK. There, Kaladin is referred to by Stormfather as "Child of Honor, Child of Tanavast". That's the only time in all three books anyone is called "Child of Tanavast", where I remember several times that different characters are referred to as "Child of Honor". So was it mere coincidence that the Stormfather used "Tanavast" this one time, or is there more to it? What I keep asking myself is, did Tanavast father children? Are there living descendants of the human/Shardholder Tanavast on Roshar? Like Kaladin? Concerning Honor and the "bigger" Cosmere and Adonalsium-related stuff, Dalinar has been the centre of attention. (That's why, to me, Dalinar is closer to being the "main protagonist" despite having much a much smaller word count than Kaladin. It's really just this one time Stormfather called Kaladin "Child of Tanavast" that made me think about this. Is there more to it? Or is it a coincidence and I'm just too paranoid because I don't believe in coincidences in the Cosmere anymore?

That sounds very bitter and not very rational. Why would BS go ahead and say whether or not Dalinar will have a greater role in the Cosmere? What would be the point? Something like that would be a major spoiler and if asked, get a majestic RAFO. My guess for Dalinar is he's going to get involved in the bigger things beyond just what's going on on Roshar. Hoid already tried asking him about Adonalsium to see how Cosmere-aware he is. I hope Dalinar won't ascend, but I'd love to see him become a new worldhopper.

I'm pretty sure I did - on several occasions - read that Dalinar has been his favourite and that he's one of the "oldest" characters in SA because he's been around in his head for decades. Also yes, Lift as stated in Edgedancer. And you can tell. Every time Lift has a POV, I can't stop smiling because I can feel in every line how much fun Brandon had while writing.

There are some hilarious "Kaladin gets chosen by a Ryshadium" headcanon posts on Tumblr. I'd probably die from amusement should that happen.

I'mm having this problem right now. Finished my reread of The Final Empire and WoA has been sitting around for a solid month now because I barely remember a thing except it wasn't nearly as exciting as TFE

Fully agree on this. In my eyes, it's kaladin's biggest flaw. I was one of those "horse girls" when I was younger and I never truly stopped. I had my own horse for 12 years (sadly, he passed three years ago ). Horses are the best! I want a Ryshadium!

I'm honestly not Cosmere-savvy enough to really know about different kinds of Investiture (I learned that term from the forums only a few weeks ago) and what they can and can't do. Regrowth as a Surge of Truthwatchers and Edgedancers can't heal old injuries - I believe we got confirmation on that from Rysn's interlude if I remember correctly?

I guess it's too late now, but a good solution might have been that Stormlight can't heal existing disabilities like Hobber's or Lopen's but can heal any injury someone receives after becoming Radiant. Now I guess I'll have to live with it as it is. ^^"

That's very sad. I kiiiiiiinda see where you're coming from, as for me, this character is Kaladin and there's a chance I might drop the books should he die and thus disappear from the books completely. (Though I care enough about many other characters that I would still continue reading, after a looooong period of mourning. I'm way too emotional about fictional deaths lol.)
