Could it be possible now that Dalinar has the ability to invest, that the stormlight could heal his memories like Renarin's eyes?
I'm guessing that would run into the issue of perception. I don't think that Dalinar sees himself currently as having "damaged memories", since it would appear that he sees himself as a man who has forgotten his wife. Because it seems like he sees himself that way (and thus his cognitive self has the lost memories) I don't think stormlight would heal him.

Has anyone ever posited the prediction that Amaram will marry Ialai to become the new high prince? I'm not sure why, but reading the chapters and the comments leads me to this conclusion. He is regarded very highly and was a longtime supporter of Sadeas. He is also a "Ruthless bastard" (per Sadeas IIRC) and that is known by only a few, but I'm sure that Ialai is one of them. All of this plus the fact that he is a Full Shardbearer should give him the political clout to do so, and the confrontation with Dalinar should give him the motivation to take up the new title.
Thoughts? Any theories on why this would not work?

As someone who has road-tripped to see Brandon I can say with surety that its worth it. I got a little lucky in the amount of time I got to spend talking with him but even if id spoken with him just at the signing line it would have been worth it, hes super cool. The talks and readings he usually gives are also usually interesting. If he isnt around Minneapolis for Oathbringer's tour I'll definitely be heading to Chicago or wherever is closest.
As someone who has too many kids to travel anywhere far to see Mr. Sanderson, I'm also hoping he'll come to the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area. I'm pretty doubtful to be honest since we're a pretty small area compared to the "nearby" Chicago, but one can always hope, right?

I feel like if someone did put together a "Sanderscon" that it wouldn't take place in the Midwest and would most likely be in Utah...

I'm not sure if Mr. Sanderson meant for it to be this way, but all this new WoB does for me is make me want to know more about the original 16 people who took up the shards. Was the person who took up "devotion" (i.e. love) so dangerous? How/why??

Kelsier as the villain? How do you figure?
I'm just thinking about Kelsier by personality. Brandon has said before that in "another time" Kelsier would have been the villain due to his sociopathic tendencies (The WoB is something like that). Knowing Brandon, that could have been foreshadowing. (or a red herring... either one).

Unless we get fully close to wax and wax becomes the villain... THAT would be an unexpected twist.
My money is on Kelsier as the villain though.

It almost sounds like you are describing stormlight as a "gas" as far as how it functions in the Joule-Thomson effect...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joule–Thomson_effect
That's fascinating. I wonder if that is what Brandon is doing... What other implications could we infer if we consider how stormlight acts if we think of it as a gas rather than as a form of light? It DOES seem to behave as a gas with regard to being breathed out and "leaking" out of gems.
That said, I can't think of a reason the gems would absorb the stormlight/gas so readily. Can anyone help me with the potential physics of that?0 -
You have to admit, a shard of apathy WOULD be an amusing shard...

I wish more people would read this. It might lower the silly fanatical devotion to "stick", knowing that Jasnah has power over it...

Trying hard to keep Vin alive:
Heal Vin, hurt that heretic Jasnah
1. Kelsier 19 HP
2. Kaladin 29 HP
3. Vin 2 HP
5. Shallan 23 HP
20. Marsh 23 HP
25. Jasnah 29 HP0 -
Alright, I'll take a shot at this:
Heal Vin, hurt Jasnah
1. Kelsier 17 HP
2. Kaladin 27 HP
3. Vin 8 HP
5. Shallan 24 HP
20. Marsh 20 HP
25. Jasnah 29 HP0 -
IIRC, there was a semi-recent WoB that maybe Alomantic Gold would be best to be paired with forgery on yourself. It makes sense to me since you could have a VERY keen understanding of what an alternate self could be and would be easy to relate/forge for that person.

This could also be useful for the therapist to be able to tap those memories and actually see/feel/know what the patient is feeling.
Come to think of it, I could see this used for police work and legal court proceedings too! Imagine a witness that could give the memory of what happens into a coppermind? Now you don't have to worry about if they can make it to court or not, you HAVE the legal evidence (assuming no one figures out what ruins trick was to "edit" existing coppermind memories).

Wonderful! I love herring!
Wait, that's not one of those "red herrings" like the ones that Sanderson guy gives out all the time, is it?
Either way, I bet it tastes the same.
I'll trade one of these aluminum bullet casings that wax leaves around all the rusting time.

I seem to remember a specific WoB that stated that a gemstone cut perfectly on the molecular level would lose no stormlight at all. Does anyone know of that specific WoB?

Assuiming that I would have access to the metals, I would choose to be an atium compounder. The ability to avoid aging as well as be just about unstopable in any combat sitution would be a combination that would be tough to beat IMO

I'm sorry if this has been discussed before, but I'm really curious about something. At the end of WoR, we see that Lopin is able to draw in stormlight and begins to have his arm healed. However, why would that happen? We know from other stories and WoB's that healing is based on how you see yourself and your "perfect self" from the spiritual relm (your soul). THis is the reason that Kaladin can't heal his slaves brand (becuase he sees it as part of himself). It seems VERY obvious that Lopin sees himself as having only one arm... Why is he able to heal his arm? What would have changed in him to make him see himself as having two arms??

I've never heard of Graphic Audio. How would something they do be different from my normal e-books from Audible?

There are, however, still hardcopies of the old Scholastic editions circulating on the marketplaces on amazon.com and bn.com, if you really don't want to wait for the re-released ebooks.
That is what I ended up doing. In a funny irony, they were all former library books...

I was thinking about this earlier this morning when listening to the WoK interludes with the people measuring spren (Sorry, since it's the audio book, I don't have references). They proved that if you measure a spren and record the size, they are "locked" that way. I'm guessing this would have something to do with this sort of fabrial. If you can lock it's size, could you lock other things about it? If instead of erasing the measuments as they did in the story, what if you changed them? Would the spren change too? This might very well be the key to the fabrial construction for newer/better shard items.

This is not something that we have ever had 100% confirmed as far as I know. Best I can tell, a Vessel's body is more or less in cold storage in the Cognitive Realm and would be released back into the Physical Realm upon their death.
Or prehaps upon relinquishing of the shard (Since we have not seen that happen yet)
1 -
Was his body really vaoprized? After all, when Ati and Laras died, they left their bodies behind... did those get recreated some how?

Do we know how the gold medallions are made yet? Does SOMEONE have to be sick to fill one? I think how likely they are going to be to have one will be determined by that...

how does lift make food into stormlight?

Now if she REALLY wants to make some stormlight, she just needs to drink a few cans of soda. Lots of sugar means lots of investure super fast! Maybe convert Horneater lager into soda? Horneater peak dew?
