    RACE!

In a race between a steel twinborn and an edgedancer (in a straight line with the same amount of investiture) who would win? Mind that edgedancers can also slick themselves against wind resistance. Maybe the better question is who can go faster and go further?
  2. those numbers are the only reason i think that second thought haha
  3. There is no evidence for this obviously, but I think that Nale will die saving Lyft. It is just a feeling I have. I also think, but again no evidence for it, that the heralds, or knights radiant, did to Honor what the 16 did to Adolnasium. 4. I assume that their order is made to protect the future and what best represents our future?
  5. I just want to graduate from being a bridgeman, lol.

  6. Are Truthwatchers associated with children? Specifically 2/3 Truthwatchers we have seen so far (Ym and I suspect Stump) have been involved with helping out orphans (children). Does helping and protecting children have something to do with their order?
  7. Thanks y'all!!! I also was thinking about it and other than Renarin, the two Truthwatchers we have meet so far in the series have been involved with orphans. I wonder if protecting unwanted children has something to do with protecting "our" future or something like that. It is apparent I need to do some more digging though
  8. My favorite character is Lyft followed closely by Kaladin and Hoid (his constant jabs at the light eyes makes me laugh every time). Favorite scene is Kaladin saving the Alokhar. Specifically when all of the stormlight in the room empties out of the gems, complete pitch dark for a second, and then he explodes with light.
  9. I posted this on r/stormlight_archive but didn't get many responses and was wondering if someone knew of a WOB or something that could confirm or deny this theory, and let us be honest you guys are where I should have started anyways. I submit, though I have little proof, that Knights Radiant progress their abilities in a clockwise formation from the Knights Radiant Symbol. Kaladin (Windrunners): Gains control over Adhesion before Gravitation. Shallan (Lightweavers): Illumination and soon to be Transformation. Jasnah (Elsecallers): Performs Transformation before Transportation (though we don't know yet which she gained more control over before the other). Lyft (Edgedancers): Abrasion then Progression. Skybreaker Journeymen: Have control over Gravitation first... at least as I don't think we have seen Division yet. This does not mean that they don't have some control over the "second" ability initially as we saw Kaladin use gravitation to attract arrows to his hands and away from him in bridge runs unconsciously and Shallan used Transformation before she works Illumination at end of TWOK. I only postulate that they gain more control over the first before the second. Additionally, as someone pointed out to me, each order has one main surge. The second surge in my clockwise theory, Dalinar purpose is to unite and his second surge is Adhesion; Kaladin is one with the wind and Sylphrena is a cousin to the windsprens, Gravitation; Jasnah wants to gain true knowledge and to do so one must be willing to travel to new places, Transportation; Renarin sees into the future, Illuminating it; Shallan has to admit deep personal truths forcing her to change how she sees things (eh this one might need to be rethought), Transformation; Lyft, though she doesn't want to change herself, brings change to those around her (sidenote: I think that this is her curse) making those around her Progress and accept changes in the world. Until I know what Division entails I can't really make a guess for the Skybreakers yet, though obviously something to do with upholding the law. (This part has nothing to do with this post but if someone could point me in the right direction... Just re-listened to TWOK and noticed that when Hoid is speaking about what people view as important he mentions that he asked scholars once, are these the 5 Scholars from Warbreaker?)
  10. I keep on coming up with these interesting ideas (or at least I think they are) and go to check to see if anyone else has and I'll be damned if they hadn't had the discussion 2 months ago! WHERE HAVE I BEEN!?!?

Don't worry about it. When Shadows of Self comes out later this year I'm sure there'll be plenty of new stuff to speculate on. :)

  11. Thanks to both Skaa and Moogle! So there could be a potential of 7 magics on Roshar: 1. Odium (voidbinding?) 2. Cultivation (old magic?) 3. Honor 4. Odium/Cultivation 5. Odium/Honor 6. Honor/Cultivation (Surgebinding) 7. Honor/Cultivation/Odium So would sprenblades would be similar to awakened objects on Nalthis? And is Sanderson still giving White Sand out if you ask him on his website? I saw that's where all the potential information on ars arcanum might be or at least the person who wrote it.
  12. Thanks to both of you for responding to me! So the implication being that hatred already killed love? haha, so this isn't your ordinary stuff going on, but I think we already knew that. So would feruchemy would be the balance magic of scadrial then plus whatever harmonium ends up doing. I assume it will be linked with the metals as well. I thought Honorblades didn't have to do with spren but Honor himself and that shardblades were just dead sprenblades and could potentially be brought back to life. For some reason I thought that the notes past the epilogue were her notes because I listen to the audiobooks and the notes were done in Kate Reading's voice. Plus the implication that she knows some things that hoid doesn't know and it sounds like they may have conversed on the cosmere before. My thought being he asked her if she knew what adolnasium was and she's been searching for it as an answer to odium. I didn't notice the bandolier before and just read that forum. That is quite interesting indeed.
  13. There are a few things in the back of my mind I'm wondering about if anyone would be willing to point my in the right direction... My first thought is dependent on each Shard having an opposite, Ruin and Preservation, Odium and Honor, Dominion and Devotion. Although I have no real justification for it I think the lower numbers are probably prone to evil and the higher numbers are more prone to goodness, not that they are good and evil considering they are forces. I think each shard has a number associated with it which applies to how many magics are associated with it. I realize that there are issues with this theory as I have no idea how Honor and Cultivation combining their powers affected the magic. 1 Ruin (1 power: to steal. And if i'm not wrong it could be used to steal other powers from different systems, correct? I'd like to think I read that in an interview by Sanderson) - 16 Preservation (16% of the population, 16 non-god Metals/Alloys to power feruchemical/ allomancy methods ) 2-15 3-14 4-13 Endowment (I have no reason to think this other than I believe there are more than the 10 known heightening and I would hazard a guess that there are more than 11 at least so I figure he would be between 12 and 15) 5-12 6-11 7 (Odium) - 10 (Honor) (10 is in everything in the stormlight archive) 8 (Dominion)- 9 (Devotion) Not sure entirely about their numbers or if they are even truly each other's opposites which I guess could be wondered at for Odium and Honor.... Could be Odium and Cultivation for all I know. I guess the question I have is has this been proven or disproven yet or RAFO answer? I've heard talk about nightblood being similar to a shardblade, but I feel like he's more closely related to an honorblade as he bestows great powers at a great cost vs just being a dangerous weapon. And who else is ready for the epic Szeth showdown with the rest of the honorblades Shin? In Sixth of Dusk, are the one's above from Scadrial? I ask because I know that the last trilogy that Brandon is planning to write on that planet has to do with space travel and there is mention in Sixth of Dusk that the One's Above use space travel. I think I read at one point that people were wondering if it might be from Sel, which may make sense considering their inability to worldhop easily. Also, if Harmony is the god of Scadrial, wouldn't harmonious involvement with the local people not be to take advantage of them? IDK! Finally, does anyone have any idea about how many worlds Jasnah has hopped to? She obviously knows of Yolen and of some of their magic (similarity to light weaving I believe), but other than that...
  14. Thanks man! I like Feruchemy but I would want to be a true terrisman vs just one of the skills. Though I'm looking forward to seeing more combos in the next Mistborn book!
  15. Hey everybody! I'm Wildbuc. Nice to meet you. I have never actually joined the forums like this before even though I'm in my mid-20's. I love Brandon Sanderson's books ever since I finished the Wheel of Time series and I have read every Cosmere book and Novella currently available, other than White Sand and Emperor's Soul (the latter of which I started today). I have also read both books in the Reckoner's series though not the short story Mitosis. I guess the best way to describe myself to you is to tell you which magic systems I think I would be associated with: AonDor (I devote myself to my passions endlessly, especially learning new things), an Elsecaller (I search for the Truth above all things, even if the answer I seek may disagree with my original train of thought), and a Skybreaker (as I view the rules as paramount. I do think certain rules/laws should be changed from time to time, but only if done through the proper channels. My brother and father may have nicknamed me Javert, lol). Also making a windrunner Skyrim character lol. Anyways, I look forward to reading your theories on the Cosmere and posting my own!
