Welp, the answer I received is in the spoiler below. The email didn't have a warning attached with it (unlike the one that said not to distribute white sand w/out Sanderson's permission)

Sanderson's Executive Assistant. This isn't an opinion, this is the answer. And while I assume that any questions answered at a convention or book signing are deemed public, I don't know if the same goes for asking questions/receiving answers through email.

If I have asked this question and received a reply from Adam Horne, are there any rules against me posting the response here?

But but but.... you're acting like there is an entire world, or 3 worlds, or cosmere, or something .

You make a very solid point. I've been pulling a Dalinar and am on my 10th listening of WOK right now and there is a high likelihood of me just trying to find connections that don't really exist but that I want to because there are SO MANY! (as an aside why does "so many" capitalized look wrong?)

That was kinda my thinking. Gaz really does take a disliking to him from the get go, and considering how Gaz is later on... it doesn't really fit his personality unless he had a previous grudge against Kaladin or someone whom Kaladin reminded him of. Plus 4 years of Kaladin being at war plus the entire slave year I feel like would likely have Kaladin not remembering those from his childhood who held a grudge against him, but those kids who held a grudge against Kaladin for his "easy" lifestyle of eating fruits all day... especially the "lordling" that surmounted everyone else who joined Amaram's army plus killing a shardblade holder...

I have the distinct feeling, though no evidence for those who have read all stormlight archive books so far, that Gaz is someone who knows Kaladin from Hearthstone. The only, but little, evidence I have for this is Gaz calling Kaladin "Lordling". Specifically I think he might be Jam (maybe one of the 3 unnamed boys that joined Amaram in chapter 44). Has anyone asked this to Mr. Sanderson before? I didn't see it in https://docs.google.com/document/d/1gewMTmQ_czOrgwh20XX3oqk9jc179qXOHvjD1wv6ujs/edit#heading=h.6miu56tz7bru

I hadn't considered that. I assumed lightweaver (https://imgflip.com/i/1i011z) cause of his abilities with smoke and song around Kaladin, but now I realize that he is probably using the Yolish magic (which is very similar to the lightweaving abilities). Also, I saw somewhere recently (though I can't find it right now) that the third Bondsmith was a worldhopper. If I recall correctly: the Stormfather was Honor's Bondsmith spren, Cultivation has one (likely the Nightwatcher), and that Odium was NOT associated with the third one.

Also, this is where I have gotten a lot of new information recently: https://www.reddit.com/r/Cosmere/comments/5li5yl/all_monthly_wob_roundup_december_2016/

Ahhh... must've misread this the first time I saw it. So this kinda basically makes my initial question moot I guess.

Yea, this was basically my thought process for it. With Edgedancer and a WOB somewhere that said that someone looking at Vasher, if they were filled with enough investiture, would see a similar effect as Lyft did looking at Szeth. The main reason I think this might not be possible is that Szeth is not affected the same way as it is implied Vasher will be by the Everstorm.
-
If Szeth son son Vallano went to Nalthis, how similar to the returned would he be? Would he have to consume a soul every week?
-
Do other types of investiture suffer/benefit (depending on how you want to view it) from overuse of their powers similar to misting savants?
-
Hmmm, this brings up a really good point. So I researched how fast a human needed to travel before body parts started... ugh... tearing apart. About 1000 mph. Since this is not a LR type person (aka all metals such as gold compounders that could continually heal themselves) I think this would be about the max speed depending on the makeup of people that can ingest metal lol. So I'm beginning to think that a steel compounder could easily beat an edgedancer, depending on the rate at which investiture is used by them. I think the speed at which investiture is used by these two types will probably be the question I ask Mr. Sanderson next time he comes to the US SE.

The shattered planes maybe? Kinda like a giant earthquake in another one of his books.

From what I can find Honor was still whole at the breaking of the oathpact but there isn't a timeline yet of whether the Recreance or his shattering occurred first. I think it still might be plausible, though less so, as he only needs to know what the secret is, not necessarily perform it (that phrasing is a little off hmmm). If the secret was that the Heralds shattered Honor (which may explain why they have all gone insane, which I'm almost 100% certain they all went insane as I think it popped up in a WOB recently) in an attempt to trap Odium and stop the Desolations, the orders disintegrated upon learning this "secret". Then as long as Taravangian knows the secret, he can use it as a bomb to implode the knights radiant again. My point is that he doesn't need to perform the action again as long as the secret was just knowledge of something that would shatter their beliefs. The rest of what I have written is heavily based on Honor's shattering before the Recreance.

Now you have me hyped to see what happens when abrasion meets water. I used to swim and know full well how that resistance is.

Okay, first off, love the subscript as that is almost exactly how I initially introduced myself to 17th shard, so props for that. Secondly damnation your good points. Stop making me rethink my thoughts

I want to think that Taravangian understood his abilities incorrectly (that his "stupid" days are the days that actually would save the world and that Odium corrupted the diagram) and furthermore that from a conversation in edgedancer, Lyft is the solution to this misunderstanding.
