  1. Rook listened to the Sith's message as he floated through space. He had said his farewell to Fratch, and dropped him off on Myrkr. Jia had just went to bed, which was fortunate. Rook didn't mind who he worked for, as long as the money was good. He had lost his sense of morality long ago. But Jia, she hadn't lost all of her innocence. She wouldn't be happy if she found out he was doing a job for the Sith. The target, Valran, wasn't a Jedi, not technically. So Jia wouldn't mind going after him. He'd have to keep who he was working for a secret. The Sith had put an emphasis on the danger Valran presented, but that the reward would be worth it. If Rook succeeded, he could afford to relax. For once in his life he would have enough money to simply relax. Rook sat back in his seat and considered the job. He had a feeling this Valran character would be his toughest prey yet. He looked at the details sent in the message. Skilled in the force, good with a lightsaber. Former Sith and Jedi, abandoned both. That makes him more dangerous than both. Jedi were easy to hunt. They had guidelines that were easy to exploit. Sith were a bit tougher, but tended to be cocky enough to surprise. But those who fell in between, they were different. They followed no guidelines, and were typically smart enough not to underestimate their opponents. They were careful. They were dangerous. But so am I. He heard foot steps behind him, and he quickly closed the file. Jia approached him, rubbing her eyes in exhaustion. She tried to look at him, but try as she might, her mind couldn't comprehend how dark his hair was, and her eyes darted to the side. Creating something that changed how dark your hair was seems pointless, but having hair that was darker than black helped a surprising amount. "What are you still doing up?" She asked softly. "What was that you were just looking at?" "A contract. Some man who has abandoned the Jedi, apparently he's made some pretty powerful people upset." Lying was second nature to Rook, but lying to Jia was hard. "Apparently he's done some pretty cruel things." He didn't know if that was a lie or not. "Are you in?" Jia nodded. "Sure. But not now, I'm tired." She went back to her room, and just as she was about to enter, she turned and looked as if she meant to say something. She decided against it, and went back to lie down. Rook sighed. She shouldn't be here. Maybe with the reward money, I could bribe someone to make her criminal record disappear. That way maybe she could finally work alongside the Jedi, like she's always dreamed of. But first he had to find and capture Valran. Finding him would be tough, but Rook had ways of tracking people down. Capturing him would be the hard part. Intense planning would be needed. But an old friend had once said Rook was one of the smartest men he'd ever known. He said men who didn't or couldn't use the force could be just as deadly, if not more so, than those who could. I'm going to find you, Valran Solo. You can't hide from me.
  2. I think we definitely need something to help the Jedi characters. The bounty hunter characters all seem to have some kind of goal, so we should figure out something that can help tie them into things.
  3. Going to see it on Friday with a few college buddies!
  4. Sounds good!
  5. So should we like, each post a character profile if we want to be someone on the council? And would the planning for what the council discuss go in this thread, and then the actual meeting will go in the RP?
  6. New character! Name: Lirian Winter-Child Race: Nord Age: 26 Proficiency: Highly skilled in Restoration magic. Status: Born under The Ritual Worships: Kynareth and Mara Appearance/Personality: Tall, with long brown hair. Very soft spoken, somewhat shy. Background info: She is the one who found and healed Grihff after his encounter with the dragon. She dislikes the dragons, but does not actively fight against them. I might consider having her be a former student at the college of Winterhold. Once more people post, I'll do a flashback scene where she heals Grihff.
  7. Perhaps they could discuss Valran or the message the Sith sent out regarding him? Maybe they could also briefly touch upon the breakout at Star's End?
  8. You guys like the (extra) reference to Mistborn I'm thinking of adding a new character, a mage who stumbled upon Grihff after his fight with the dragon, and she decided to heal him. I'll post a bio soon, unless someone else wants that role. Unless someone else does want her, I'll probably do a flashback scene where she encounters Grihff, but I won't do that until more people start posting.
  9. "I've been a tad preoccupied recently," Grihff responded. "I'm assuming you've heard the rumors of The White Shade of the Pale?" Kelsier nodded his head. "The shadow that nobody can hunt down? The demon who mercilessly slaughters dragons? Quite a name you've made for yourself." "Yeah, and I don't want it. Every damned Dragon in Skyrim wants my head." Grihff threw down his hood. "I have to keep that thing up constantly, lest someone with half a brain realize the one with white hair and white eyes is also The White Shade of the Pale." Kelsier moved a bit closer as he finished unloading what he had taken. "So how was it, killing a dragon?" Grihff sighed. "Tough. I almost died, the beast clawed my chest right open. I didn't think all the healing in the world could save me. I passed out, and when I woke, nothing was left but scars that I will bear till the day I die." "Well, you certainly have been busy." He slammed his hands on the table in excitement. "Want to hear how I got all this? I want all three of the Nightingales to be here before we start planning, so might as well pass the time." What could you possibly be planning that would require all three of us? Grihff thought. "Go ahead." "Well, it's not as exciting as being the most wanted man in Skyrim, but it's still a good story. So I had a crew up in Windhelm, and there was some nobleman who had reportedly made a large sum of money. Venture, I think his name was. Anyways, the crew had some girl who was skilled at impersonating nobles, and she managed to sneak herself into a party that was being thrown. She found a way to let myself and the rest of the crew in, and we stole all this from right under their noses!" By the way Kelsier laughed as he told the story, Grihff could tell he was proud of himself. He had always loved stealing from nobles. "Anyways," Kelsier continued. "I'm glad you're here. We need someone with your skills with magic, as well as your knowledge of fighting dragons. You see..." Kelsier said dramatically, "We're going to steal something from them." Oh boy, Grihff thought.
  10. Alright, I'll get that done. We can also spend time developing the plan beforehand, I think that will help us a lot.
  11. Silver, did you want Grihff to actually tell Kel what he was up to, or should that just be something that can pass time until the next Nightingale shows up?
  12. Grihff made his way into Nightingale Hall, trying to escape the rain. He had recovered from his encounter with the Dragon Cultist, although he needed some rest. Grihff had used a large amount of energy in the battle, what he needed was some- Grihff stopped in his tracks. He had heard a noise further down. It was entirely possible that is was another Nightingale, who just happened to be here at the same time as Grihff. But is was also possible it was another Dragon Cultist, who somehow followed him. He was fairly certain that nobody was capable of tracking him, especially in conditions like this, but it never hurt to be cautious. Steps muffled, Grihff went to investigate. He saw someone unloading goods. So it is a Nightingale, Grihff thought, relieved. Kelsier, by the looks of it. He hadn't known the man long, Grihff was still relatively new to the Nightingales. But Grihff liked him, he had a penchant for putting together elaborate heists. Grihff unmuffled his steps, and approached Kelsier. "Well Kel, judging by that grin on your face, I'd wager that you've got something dangerous planned for us." Kelsier turned and faced him with a smile. "Grihff my friend, you've got no idea."
  13. About to start Dark Souls 2, which will be my first Souls game.
  14. Had fun at JordanCon! Met some cool people, met Brandon, it was a good time. I also had my first job interview today, and I think it went really well. The guy said that he liked me, and that he'd try and call me back soon
  15. Some interesting tidbits. Some people did get a recording. Something that we got conformation of is that the Felt that appears on Scadrial and the Felt on Roshar are indeed the same person.
  16. Anyone else at the RAFOlympics?
  17. So a new trailer has been released. Must say, if I wasn't hyped before, I certainly am now. If the final movie is half as good as this trailer was, I will be satisfied.
  18. It has been added to the list!
  19. So this is on RIDICULOUSLY short notice, but I will be attending the Sanderson RAFOlympics tomorrow at JordanCon. Problem is, I only have a few questions thought out. I don't know how many I'll be allowed to ask, but if anyone has anything they want asked, I'll try and a few to my list. Preferably simply, I'm not exactly as knowledgeable when it comes to Cosmere related topics. Here is what I have so far. It was recently revealed that Dragons in the Cosmere can take human form, and the kandra can do something remarkably similar. Is there any meaningful connection between the two? Going off of that question: Can a kandra take the form of a dragon? If a kandra were to disguise as a dragon who had taken the form of a human, would they notice any significant differences in anatomy? In both Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive, a character named Felt appears. Is this the same person? If anybody wants to help me tune up these questions so they sound better, that'd be great.
  20. Just got a call from a company I'm hoping to work for, and they liked my application! They scheduled an interview for Sunday! Wish me luck
  21. Tracking down a rogue Jedi, all whilst evading the Jedi Order? Rook sure has his work cut out for him. Nice post Phoenix.
  22. I haven't gotten around to it yet, but it is pretty high up on the "I need to watch" list.
  23. Any idea on what time that is?
  24. Was in the mood for some thriller/suspense anime, and I what commonly was listed as a good one was Paranoia Agent. I just finished the opening. What have I gotten myself into?
  25. Of course! Simply post a short character bio, and we'll help get you started!
