Mid-Range Game 17: Hic Sunt Leones
Burnt Spaghetti replied to Amanuensis's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Tia was in shock. Spartacus...He...he was gone? But… how, who, why. This...no...this couldn’t be! No, nononono NO! Her body trembled slightly as a wave of horror and misery consumed her. And her memories… she began to remember…everything about her time with him years ago. Every conversation. Every fight they’d been in together. Everything. And the more she remembered, the greater her misery became. No…. Tears began rolling down her face. And then his last words to her came back to her, and she was consumed with rage. --- “Tia...We need to talk and I don’t have much time,”He had said, “I want you to know...I am going to take a risk, a very big risk. A risk that could mean that I will be dead by morning.” The man seemed anxious as he rushed to tell her what he could. “I think I've discovered another Forsworn traitor and I am going to try take him down tonight but… He is an Arcos; i cannot be sure of my success. I’ve been talking to Priam and i think i know how to kill this Arcos so if i fail… talk to him, he can explain.” He paused to take a deep breath, “I… think this Arcos has an Ionblade and if he's using it.. no, he must be using it… he has to be distracted and using it otherwise…” He swallowed nervously and looked Tia in the eye, “Otherwise, Tia...I'll die.” the haunted look in his eyes had confirmed to Tia that he feared that this would be the outcome. “But… why tell me?” Tia asked, eyes wide open in shock. “Because if you are a Forsworn with him, there is nothing you can do to stop me now. And if you are good, well… you deserve to know Tia. We knew each other well once, so it is only fair to you that you know why, even if you don't remember me right now.” with a sigh he turned to leave. “No… no you can't do this!” Tia frantically grabbed his arm. “No… please! You can't- not now! Spartacus I've been starting to remember during these last few days… please… ” Spartacus looked away, not meeting her eyes. “I'm sorry Tia…” “Goodbye.” His words playing through her mind she clenched her fists. She had spoken to Priam as he'd told her to, and Priam had explained the plan in more detail, and had told her of who her friend had tried to take down. Lucius. Lucius had done this. Lucius had killed her friend. And Spartacus had been so sure of Lucius being a forsworn. As her rage began to build, she heard her name mentioned. By Lucius of all people. “Tia has been really quiet recently. Guys i think she might be another forsworn. I think she should be the one we kill tomorrow.” What... WHAT?? This man was the man Spartacus had been so sure of being evil, and he accused HER of being evil? How… how dare he. There was no way she was going to let him get away with this without a fight. Eyes filled with determination, she opened her mouth and began to declare everything she knew to anyone who would listen. --- So, as the rp says, literally minutes before the end of the cycle, Doc pmed me, with a brief, vague description of what he was doing. I'm afraid i do not know his reasons for why he was suspicious of Mage, but, he was confident enough to try take down an arcos. I understand that confirmed good does not mean confirmed right, but, i have a feeling doc could have been right about this. I'd like to know Lopens take on the whole situation but he...well, wanted to talk to someone he trusted most about some situation to do with it first. And i know Doc had a lot of trust in Lopen, but quite frankly, i have very little trust in him. Especially since he seemed reluctant to discuss this all with me. And now Mage is saying that you guys should totally lynch me next?..........call me biased, but this doesn't seem like a coincidence to me. Doc tells me he was attacking you, i tell lopen i know this, and he says he's going to go pm someone and then you start trying to throw suspicion on me? I'm sorry but i will be stunned if that's a mere coincidence. Sorry Lopen and Mage, but I'd fully support the lynch of either of you. Though, you might be a bit tricky mage, but it's doable. And I'm not even sorry for telling the whole thread your role. This is information people need to know. Doc had also been doing research into ways to kill an Arcos which… Lopen can list later. I'll be wanting to sleep soon. Yeaa…*yawns*- 589 replies

Burnt Spaghetti replied to Amanuensis's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Tia had started when a woman burst into the hall in ragged clothing, screaming about rabbits. She has been even more surprised when in an instant, Spartacus dropped his pursuit of Sanis and dove towards the girl in obvious concern. I wonder what the story behind all that is... While watching, she briefly saw a flash of another image of a slightly different Spartacus in full armor, charging into battle, leading armies, a hero who fought more with his guile than with his brawn. A hero that.. That had reached a hand to her once… She blinked again, squeezing her eyes closed, and then the image was gone. Spartacus was on the floor, seemingly unconscious, but as the girl knelt, he sprung up again and captured her with surprising ease. I… knew him. she realised. Somehow, years ago, she had known this man. Spartacus had released the girl, then, and was running back to where Sanis and Gregor had been. She watched him go, then shook her head to clear her thoughts, and ran after to observe what was happening with the traitor Sanis. It was about time she added her cheer to this. -- Yea have my cheer bard , since i dont think ive cheered yet this cycle.- 589 replies

Seems like im lurking? No no, i am lurking. Im always lurking. I'm a typical lurker like all the time you can trust that im generally always keeping up with the thread, just that when it comes to posting, i typically keep my thoughts to myself, or i talk to people about it in pms. But yes, poke me in thread and i will respond. Generally guaranteed, unless im asleep or actually busy.- 589 replies

Tia stood in silence. It had been an eventful ‘meeting’.... Sevros head on a platter...Tiberius not showing up… Lumina challenging Sanis… but. This? This was unexpected, and something inside of her burned with rage at the outcome. How dare Sanis emerge victorious! Lumina was meant to win! The duel was meant to end with two Forsworn being dead!! But, the duel had resulted in the total opposite. Sanis was alive and Lumina was dead. Lumina. And Nyanah had been injured. And now Sanis was running. Wonderful… she watched as lancers began to give chase, each itching to be the one to end this traitor's life. She didn't care which got that honour, just provided that they were successful. She’d go cheer later on. Her gaze was drawn back to the severed head, and her thoughts to Tiberius. Part of her almost felt like seeking him out. He'd been so kind to her while she'd been under his care and she felt pity for the man, who had lost a lot in such a short amount of time. But no… if he didn't want to talk to or see his lancers, then she should respect that and not pester him. She sighed, her attention returning to those going after Sanis. One thing about these events had made her realise another thing though. Now was by far not the time for pranks. With the building enmity and bloodshed, Tia was starting to hope she regained all her memories soon. She had a feeling she might need the strength of Vesta, and not the playfulness of Tia.- 589 replies

Oh yay. Elenion posted. When i started typing this i thought i was gonna end up double posting... So, since you guys don't wanna let me lurk in peace like usual, i may as well babble and ramble while i avoid homework (>>). So. As Lopen has said, I'm hardly known for being a player who's active in discussion. Most games i only post once per cycle. If you're lucky. So. Thread silence isn't unusual for me. Pm silence is, but i plan to fix that. I've got 11 merit to burn through. May as well use that to start pms. To be honest I'm pondering a public role claim. Why? Partly as a sign of good faith i guess. Also partly cause that's something i've not really tried before. I should get more comfortable speaking up in thread. I should try and focus more on the game mechanics and discussion rather than just chatting and writing stories. I should try something new, purely because it is new, to me. But I don’t. So why haven't I? Because i might be a eliminator trying to hide from the public. Well i tell you right now, if that were the case then why am i not more talkative as a villager. I'll tell you why. Because it is my playstyle. I lurk. I observe. I note. I pass my notes to a more analytic player. They parse the data and deal with suspicions. I am a player who stands back, avoids getting too involved where i can. And this does not change whether i may be evil or good. (Well, of course that depends on the role of course, but, still. I'm generally pretty consistent.). I do think my playstyle needs to start to change more. I have been playing for over a year now, yet I still get anxious about posting any thoughts in the thread. Yes that’s right. Posting in thread scares me. It always has. And if i wasn’t always so nervous of making mistakes in thread, well, perhaps i would be more active in discussion. I guess what i’m trying to say though is, guys, this is normal for me. And sometimes i get a little frustrated that the majority of games I play my play style is often the primary reason for any suspicion on me. Sure, I have earnt that suspicion but still. You guys can keep telling me to be more active in discussion. You often do. It's just not...me. And...heh...thing is with me, sometimes i do go to add to discussion, but then i panic and just...Don’t. Yes panic. I don’t like posting anything I’m not sure about. At all. I don’t even like voting for people if i’m not sure about them. Hmph. Anyways, i’m not sure how necessary this rant is. But. You guys wanted me to post more so, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Tbh part of me is already going “dude this post is just going to make people think you are trying too hard to get rid of suspicion. Why bother even post this?” So… I should probably add some actual discussion points to this as well Part of me feels like Rae is just trigger happy when it comes to me, which i honestly don’t blame her for. But, how about i do one of my old traditions. Percentage liiiist~ Percentage list: 0%=good, 50%=¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (or i can't remember and can’t be bothered thinking), 100%=Kill them now 1- Darkness Ascendant -52% *shrugs* RP only...Like me, come to think of it... 2. Daniyah -48% *shrugs* Rp only. Like me, come to think of it Well no. I’m discussing! See look. this is discussion post stuff right here 3. Assassin in Burgundy -48% 4. Magestar -50% 5. Bugsy6912- He deaded. Pretty spectacularly too. Like, no one needs to lose their head over how dead he is but… he’s pretty dead. Can I say I laughed my head off? No? 11. The_Lady_of_Chaos -46% 12 Elenion - 47% 13.The Young Bard -50% 14. TheMightyLopen-.....51%.....well….61%...no...52%....mm. Yea. bout there. I’m…. uncertain. I feel a read on you building up already, but, i don’t trust my read currently I feel my own quietness has been messing with my ability to read you but……… 15. Doc -20% Great guy. Good rp. Good chatting. Posts more than i do (surprise). Also the only one to open a pm with me soo (yay! Awesomeness!)…. He gets special treatment for being nice Also seems pretty village to me so…. 16. Arraenae - 60% Just… gut really, and i’m often twitchy about those who point pointy objects in my general direction Though really. You’re probably village. I’m bouncing rapidly between 40% and 60% tbh. *shrugs* whatever. 48%..... Fiiine, 43%.......40%. Be nice and you’ll get 39% maybe… 17. Elbereth -23% 18. Straw -50% 19. 2:40pm actually. And I've been out all morning. And my merit from rp has been sufficient for funding my pms *shrug* not that ive done much. Ive only got 2 pm open, and i only started one of those myself. I have 11 merit currently. *shrugs* its my character being childish- its due to her backstory. But, believe what you want. Yea i know its a bad excuse but its the truth. I do admit I've been super quiet this game though... much more than i normally am for sure. Like seriously. Only 2 pms? Me. Only having 2 pms. Like. What. I think I’ve played so many limited/no pm games recently that I'm just used to not pming or something, idk. Or im not focused. Idk. *shrugs*- 589 replies

Tia blinked. Spartacus huh? Interesting. So that stray thought earlier had been right. “Oh! Huh. How fascinating! I had the strangest feeling that was your name.” She smiled widely and shook his hand, “My name's, well…. Haha that's an interesting story actually…. Um… I'm Tia. Well. Its technically short for Hestia you know. Buuuut apparently my name is really Vesta but i don't really like going by that right now. My mind's a little scrambled up right now, haha, with amnesia and all that soo…. I don't really remember being that Vesta person so I'm going by Tia instead! So yes. Call me Tia! As for the bird….” she laughed, “oh dear me.... that you would have to ask Tarna about. You see, we often like to do fun little pranks together so we brought a few things. I typically try to stick to simple, safe little things, so I'm getting out this pie i had filled with glitter to show Tarna and then? Then she pulls out a dead bird! I was surprised but she was so insistent that we used it that i felt like i just HAD to go along with it! Buuuut i guess i didn't really think it through… didn't quite expect it to go the way it did, haha…. It was no fun in the end…. And that's sad. Pranks should be fun! Not sad… and oh.. I'm sorry i'm rambling aren't I? Whoops! Just getting carried away with the story, hahaha….” she smiled sheepishly. “So… yea. That's the story.”- 589 replies

Firstly, sorry i know i should participate in discussion.... you guys have my permission to keep poking me until i do. Just.... maybe when its not 3am XD i have the brain power for rp at 3am but not.... discussion. That takes much more thought imo. And reading. Ill try post something tomorrow.... if i remember >.> im bad at remembering though.... meep. Tia was walking away from the medbay. Being deep in thought, her pace was slow, and soon enough someone walked past her with a heavy sigh. She glanced up and saw that it was the man - Spartacus - who had just tried punching Tiberius, still cradling his right hand. She smirked slightly, and then called out to him. “Hey! You there!” He glanced her way, raising an eyebrow. “I imagine that you cannot wait for the meeting in the morning, can you?” she said with a wry smile. “I'm the one who upset Tiberius by helping his little Tarna do a prank with one of his dead birds so, I'm just as excited.”- 589 replies

I feel like i should contribute to game discussion but. Nope. Not at 3am hahaha. Have rp instead :P Tia sighed. She really did love the fun things she did with Tarna but… she knew she really ought to be more careful and more…responsible. So she thought to herself, mildly reluctantly, ‘what would the Vesta I've been told about, do?’. With a heavy sigh she acknowledged the answer. She needed to suck it up and act like a responsible, seasoned lancer and just go face Tiberius. So she neatened her hair and attire and went to find him, in her mind rehearsing her apology for her actions. Well. At the same time as screaming in panic, telling herself that, nope she should run the other direction. She was directed towards the medbay, being told that was where Tiberius was seen last. Weird… She had been so focused on the dead bird prank that she hadn't been aware of the incident with the Kavax guy, so was surprised. But with a shrug and a determined mind, she headed there. She was...unfortunately rather familiar with the medbay and often avoided it where she could so was even more reluctant to go find Tiberius there. When she got near enough to see Tiberius inside, she paused to take in the scene. The corpse of Kavax. Tiberius at his side. Spartacus… huh? I know his name? ... was not much farther ahead of her. He was… wait… what was he- He was staring at the corpse of Kavax, shaking, literally shaking with fury. A gathering storm. With a voice as loud as Kavax’s had been, he suddenly bellowed out Tiberius's name and Tia watched as he swung with all his might at the ArchGovernor. She heard a crack, and she winced. That must have shattered the bones in his hand… Suddenly images began bombarding her mind. -- Red everywhere… so much red. The walls, the floor. She was fighting. More red as her razor sliced through flesh. Red people. Red hair, red eyes, red clothes. Red blood. They fell so easy...oh so easy. As she lost herself in the fight, she felt a tap on the back of her head, and a scream from behind. She paused mid swing, cocking her head curiously. huh? Turning, she saw one of the red people cradling an obviously broken wrist, screaming in pain. She had found that extremely amusing. Idiot. The poor fool had broken his fist on her skull. Her razor twisted around the man's neck, yet she had…paused. A panicked warning reached her ears. A BANG, a blinding FLASH followed by pain… so...much pain. Tia’s eyes shot open with a gasp. What was that?!? What just… was that a…. Memory? Pale and unnerved by this, Tia found a nearby wall and sat down, breathing heavily. That hadn't happened before. Why did that just happen. Were all her memories like that? Who… Tia was without words as she tried to comprehend what had just happened. One thing was clear to her now though. She did not want to face Tiberius as a shaken mess. She hesitantly stood up. No… she needed some space first….time to breathe. She turned away from the Medbay, intending to return to the room she'd been in before.- 589 replies

Tia had quickly escorted Tarna to her room, the pair of them both being suitably nervous, no, terrified of the potential consequences. They had both waited there as requested, in nervous silence, but when Tiberius arrived, he had sent Tia out, coldly stating he would talk to her separately. But... he hadn't come. And now there was a meeting she was supposed to attend but... he was going to talk to her first...wasn’t he? At least...That's what he'd said... she felt torn. Did she go to the meeting and risk a public rebuking? Or should she just stay where she was, hide, and hope for the best.... She laughed. Hope for the best...ha... best case scenario he's just decided to completely ignore me and is refusing to speak with me.... cause there's no way I'm getting away with this.... note to self: don't use birds in pranks. She decided to wait it out a little longer before leaving to go to the meeting Tiberius had called. She wasn't excited to run into him anytime soon.- 589 replies

I might just add some character description before my rp. So Tia/Hestia/Vesta, was a Olympic knight. She was hurt in a battle 4 months back and it rendered her an amnesiac. She has reverted to a more childlike personality, and has done things like, dying her hair bright red, and bedazzling her armours. She’s around 30 whereas Tarna is more like 7. -------- “Ooooh Tia look! There's a really sour faced prickly pine over there that would be soooo funny to prank!” Tarna was excitedly pointing over at someone who…..wouldn’t have exactly been Tia’s first choice of pranking targets. “That woman? Really? But… she's so serious...” Tia responded hesitantly. “All the better!! The serious ones are much more fun to prank! You know this Tia” Tarna grinned cheekily at Tia, who pulled a face back. Yes they were more fun, but if the pranks went badly…. Well, Tia was the one who had to deal with Tarnas mischief. “Okaaaay…..Fine. Which should we pull on her?” Tia said with a smile as she began rummaging through the supplies she’d brought. “I’ve got…. A glitter pie we can throw at someone… some string to trip people with…. Spicy sauce for food….i’ve got-” Tarna’s face sudden blossomed with a beautiful little evil grin. “I know! We'll… wing it!” She then proceeded to hold up a bag containing a….half rotted dead bird…. Tia blinked. What..... Where did she even get that….. Tarna giggled, “We can tape this to her back! And then she’d be walking around smelling all fowl! Bird back! It would be super funny Tia! Can we do it? Pleeeeease?” …Why do I get the feeling we're gonna egret this? Tia chuckled to herself. “Alright then, owl give this eggcellent plan a go. I got some tape here so we’re all set!” “Yay!” Tarna clapped her hands, “I’ll distract her, while you do the prank!” Tia smiled, “alright then!” The pair split up, Tia approaching Lumina from behind, Tarna running directly up to the woman, Lumina. Tarna began babbling at Lumina, saying nothing important. Tia rolled her eyes and subtly attempted to attach the birds corpse to the woman's back. (I'll let you decide if they are caught in the act or run away first, El )- 589 replies

If the Forsworn have a pm chain couldn't they just use that to figure out who each other is and then get one of them to create a group pm for them? Sure they may have limited communication initially, but im thinking that won't last long, and that we will be able to look at lynch patterns as normal and darn Wonko just ninja'd me. Well. “Tia? Are we gonna see all the Lancers?” Tia glanced down at Tarna, Tiberius's youngest daughter, who was tugging at her sleeve. She smiled, “Yep! Your daddy is throwing them a party so there might even be some snacks!” Beside her, Tarna cheered. ‘Oh Goodie! Snacks! Do you think there will be cupcakes!? With sparkles?” Tia laughed, “I’m not so sure about that buuuuuut….” She bent down so she was about the same height as Tarna, and whispered “I brought along some sparkles and glitter of my own to sprinkle over the food that is there.” Tarna’s eyes widened with excitement, “Oooooooh!” she clapped her hands gleefully. “Can i have some!? Pleeeease!?” “Of course you can! Anything for you, kid.” Tia smiled fondly at Tarna and stood back up straight. After the incident 4 months ago, she’d been able to become good friends with Tarna. A sad expression crossed her face as she tried thinking back to that. See, she didn’t remember it. She’d been told about what happened but… the actual memories were gone. Most of her memories were gone actually. She had forgotten all her memories: That she was a lancer, an Olympic Hearth Knight person even. That she’d apparently had some lover who had died to save her. Even her name, her real name, she’d forgotten. Sure, she knew what people told her it was but, that….Vesta person they talked about….that wasn’t her. Not anymore. So she chose a new name. Hestia. Though even that wasn’t quite right so she shortened it to- “Tia? Are you okay? You’re spacing out and look weird. Like an unripe fruity face.” Tia blinked, and pulled a face at Tarna, “I’ll show you an unripe fruity face you sneaky sapling.” She grinned at Tarna. Ah yes. That's why she was thinking about her missing memories. After she lost them, Tiberius had taken her into his own care while she recovered. It had given her plenty of time to get to know his youngest daughter. Tarna was great fun. They made a great pair of silly bumpkins. “Did you bring your supplies for our little bit of fun Tarna?” Tia then said with a mischievous grin. “Teehee! Of course I did, silly! I take them eeeeeeverywhere when we go on adventures!” “Excellent! We are going to have some fun at this party then. I brought my stash too! Let's go find us some targets!” The pair giggled together as they went and found a spot to hide while they schemed about their pranks.- 589 replies

As to how i came to that conclusion Aman, well, for the most part its because i didnt know of many other native Selish players. And i knew she wasnt Elantrian. And she was the only non elantrial selish player i didnt know if i could trust.- 1344 replies
