  1. Here's what I'm saying: If you have no strong suspicions, go for an inactive over an active. It leads to more discussion late-game, and will be a huge help in finding traitors. If you suspect someone of being a traitor, go for it. I don't condone lynching inactives over lynching traitors. I have no idea where you got this from. We always spare first-timers for a few cycles, don't we? So the people just joining SE aren't going to be lynched on day 1. In addition, wouldn't lynching actives cause more offense? I mean, I can understand being lynched for inactivity. I can't understand why I would be lynched just because I was active. (Not because of the content of my posts, just because I was trying to contribute.) Lynching actives is counterproductive when you consider the community as a whole, because it encourages the idea that if you're inactive, you're safe. And that makes games really boring. And boring games send people elsewhere, which hurts the community.
  2. Problem is, we can't kill the house unless we kill a traitor. If we don't have anyone who admits to being a traitor, killing inactives would help the village the most. But the traitors will be killing actives, because active people are those most likely to find them and lynch them. If we also kill actives, the thread will get boring really fast If we don't kill anyone at all, we can't kill the house, and we'll be picked off one by one. If we kill inactives, we might hit a traitor without hurting the village at all. (BEST DEAL!)
  3. I agree that exploring is a great idea*, but I would like to challenge your point on lynching inactives. You say that it will deprive us of future explore abilities if they choose to come back. I say better them then an active player, because active people will likely explore. Inactive people won't. In addition, omens don't always choose the player who activated them. By lynching inactives, we could stumble upon a traitor. Inactives aren't going to help the village anyway, so that would be fine. You infer that it would be better to lynch nobody at all than to lynch an inactive. However, as I mentioned, they could be a traitor. In addition, the traitors will be eliminating active people. Once those are gone, the inactives will provide no resistance. Therefore, inactive players will not help the village. I move that inactives be lynched. *(Everyone active will probably explore. If they're village and get cool stuff, good for them. If they turn traitor, good for them - they can still win, and some people think it's more fun to be a traitor.)
  4. Item #: SCP-H1 Object Class: Euclid Special Containment procedures: SCP-H1 is to be kept on the hill. If SCP-H1 is removed from the hill, very bad things will happen. It is best if SCP-H1 is kept on top of the hill, as otherwise it would be on a slant, which would make it look less pretty. In the case that SCP-H1 falls over, a security force is to go put it right-side up. In the case that SCP-H1 is attacked by aliens, Agent B is to tell the aliens to go away. In the case that SCP-H1 spontaneously explodes, a security force is to hold a memorial service in its honor. If this is not done, then [REDACTED], which we do not want. People are allowed to come and look at SCP-H1 , but not to go inside. If a person does go inside, then SCP-H1 has claimed them and nothing can be done about it. A 'FOR SALE' sign is to be kept outside SCP-H1 to keep potential visitors away. Description: SCP-H1 is a large mansion, which is on top of a hill. Its dimensions are uncertain, although it is sure that it exists in the first three. The house is not on the side of the hill, nor underneath the hill, but on top of it. If this is confusing, see addendum A. This house has a large number of rooms, which swap places randomly and cannot be counted by conventional means. A certain number of these rooms appear to give powers to those that enter them. These powers range from [REDACTED] to [REDACTED]. It is assumed that they will be useful. Many rooms have items in them, which appear to be incredibly difficult to operate. Over % of these items take over 8 hours to properly operate. Operation grows no faster through repeated use. These items have effects ranging from [REDACTED] to [REDACTED]. A few rooms appear to be completely black when looked into. If these rooms are ventured into without flipping the light switch under any circumstances, SCP-H1 will take control of the victims and force them to do traitorous things. A way to destroy SCP-H1 is being looked into. Agent B suggested using gasoline, but was reprimanded for unclear thinking. It is apparent that the only way to destroy SCP-H1 is by finding both its heart (SCP-H1-1) and a way to destroy the heart, both of which must be held within SCP-H1. On / / , a group of members are to go into the house, with the objective of destroying SCP-H1-1. The force is to be composed entirely of civilians, in order to keep D-class from being killed unnecessarily. They will be unarmed, in order to keep weapons from falling into SCP-H1's hands. Many of them will be unconscious, to keep them from wandering into an unlit room. Many will have taken Class-F amnesics, and will be unable to remember the exact details of their mission. This will have been an accident. If they find that one of their members has been corrupted, they are encouraged to exterminate them, for obvious reasons. The house must be destroyed, no matter the cost. Addendum A:
  5. Well, that's unfortunate for UU. So far I think we've had 3 university deaths, (1 monarchist death,) 1 assassin death, 1 thieves death, and one independent death. I think the watch needs to get in on this whole dying thing.
  6. ...What? You worry that someone is desperate enough to pay 200 coins to kill luckat, so you're going to kill luckat. If someone is willing to pay 200 to kill person A not in their faction, they'll be willing to pay 200 to kill B, C, and D. You're not really stopping the assassins from making money here. You may have a good reason to kill Luckat, but the explanation you're giving makes absolutely no sense.
  7. Well for one thing, the assassins wanted to win. And Stink wasn't part of their faction. And they were offered money to kill Stink. I don't think him being the head of the university has anything to do with it.
  8. Hello Ankh Morpork. Things are happening. People are dying. I don't know who anybody is, which doesn't really matter because I don't particularly care. Tip of the day: If you see any monarchists trying to pull a last-minute lynch on the patrician, don't let them do that, as it means most of them are the heads of their guilds and are trying to win the game.
  9. Yay, now we can have a community write-up. Dibbler got up, reaching for his sausage tray. 'Oi, there was no need for that. I was just trying to-' His hand passed right through it. He paused his rant, looking up at the crowd. 'Really now, look what you gone and done with my sausages!' I'ᴍ ᴠᴇʀʏ sᴏʀʀʏ ᴀʙᴏᴜᴛ ᴛʜᴀᴛ. 'Well you should be! They were half off, too, and that's cutting me own throat.' I ᴅᴏɴ'ᴛ ʙᴇʟɪᴇᴠᴇ ʏᴏᴜ ᴄᴀɴ ᴅᴏ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴀɴʏ ʟᴏɴɢᴇʀ. 'What, sell sausages at half price?' Dibbler looked up, finally seeing who he was addressing. 'Oh.' Iɴᴅᴇᴇᴅ. Dibbler faded into the distance. Death watched where he had been for a few moments, then looked down at the sausage tray. He shrugged, then picked a ghostly sausage up and ate it whole. He shuddered, making a sound like a bundle of sticks being thrown out of a window. Then he mounted Binky and rode off. The crowd took absolutely no notice of him.
  10. You get 30 coins normally. If you aid in the death of one of your PM friends, you get 10 coins fewer. If you kill one of your PM enemies, you get a 20 coin bonus. So I'd say it's a pretty significant bonus.
  11. Of course, the other option is that stink is one of the assassins, and they set the bar low because he requested it. I wouldn't put it past him. People get a bonus in money by lynching someone on the other side, right? If so, it's probably not a good idea to give people reason to lynch you. But in the way of discussion, I'd recommend that if you find a monarch, don't post them in the thread. If you do, all the other monarchs will contact that person, and then that person will contact them back telling them who's in their faction.
  12. ...this is a faction game. That's what people are supposed to do. I was joking about you being a monarchist. Hence the sarcastic Lol. But I see what you're saying. You know that the monarchists would play one way. The fact that you're not playing that way proves that you're not a monarchist. Well, no holes in that argument. Carry on. If Aonar is the post Master, he'd be the logical alternative. Hurts the monarchists and gets rid of an independent, just like you wanted, so everyone's happy. Araris. Out of curiosity, Clanky, why do you think that Aonar's the Post Master? Edit: Oh. Right. He claimed to be a post officer without alignment.
  13. You keep on using that word. Either you are a very cheery person, or that word does not mean what you think it means. Also, you're grumpy because Araris was voted on for being in a faction. ...remind me again what's wrong with that? Quote: " the Monarchists are also mixed in with the other factions..." So you think that I should vote for Nyali, which will disrupt the clacks, rather than vote for Araris, a possible monarch. Stink, are you a monarch? You really must be, because that's what your playstyle shows. Lol. One more thing - If the monarchists are communicating with one another via clacks, they're easier to discover, due to clacks officers spying on the PMs. By lynching Nyali, you would cripple that method of discovery.
  14. Nyali says she has no special actions. I would assume that mean's she's not the unlicensed thief. She also said that she can win even if dead, which means that she's not the Monarch or Dibbler. Dalinar's the Patrician, which means that Nyali's either the Postmaster or the Clacks Master. If the postmaster dies, messages cost 20p more. If the Clacks Master dies, messages can only be sent at night. I don't particularly care for either of those, so I'm gonna vote for Araris to try and even things up a bit.
  15. If anyone cares about this sort of thing, here's a vote tally: Death(4) Dalinar, Wonko, SIlverblade, PK Atuin(2) Nyali(2), wonko(1), Phattemer, Magestar Magestar(1) Stink Wonko(1) Nyali(1) Nyali Life(1) Dankness JUQ(1) JUQ Aman(0) Silverblade(1) Sanity(0) Magestar(2), PK(1), Phattemer(2) Silverblade(2) Kiwi(0) PK(2) Elbereth(0) Magestar(1), Phattemer(1)
  16. Why do I get the feeling that if we try to lynch death, we'll just end up doing this? Come to think of it, that looks awesome. Kiwi. Death.
