  1. Day 7 - History Has Its Eyes On You Axies was standing in front of him. “Hello, little brother.” Seixa couldn’t respond. It felt like his mouth had been clamped shut by an invisible hand. “You’ve failed me. There are still Spiked in the city. Why aren’t they dead yet? You know the only way is to kill them all.” With an effort, Seixa wrenched his mouth open. “They are all dead! We’ve killed five of them! Are you telling me that six out of sixteen possibilities were Spiked?” “Possibly. You know the Spiked can convert others to their cause, as well.” Seixa smote his forehead. Of course they had converted people! Why hadn’t he thought of that? He started to consider who had had the opportunity to spike someone, and who had been vulnerable. Most of his subjects stayed in groups, so he could eliminate almost all… Axies was still talking.“Or, possibly I’m saying that sixteen out of sixteen are Spiked.” “What?” Seixa said incredulously. “That’s impossible. I’ve seen their bodies. No spikes there.” “Maybe you just weren’t looking hard enough…” Axies swept out of the small building they were in, on his way to the town square, where they’d buried the fallen. Seixa followed. His brother gestured for him to dig. “Aren’t you going to help?” Seixa inquired. “Don’t be stupid. I’m dead.” Axies replied curtly. Shrugging, Seixa picked up the first headstone to get at the grave beneath it- Millie’s. As he dug, he glanced over at the inscription- She whittled away all of her stack So went into the woods to fill up her pack We waited all day but she didn’t come back (The wolf told us she had a heart attack) Not entirely accurate, but close enough. She’d been killed by Edrab, when they’d surprised each other in the night. Millie was a good sheriff. Seixa couldn’t remember the last time she’d arrested someone and they hadn’t confessed. She couldn’t have been Spiked… could she? Finally, he reached the body. It was still largely intact, except for the more delicate tissues. Worms had invaded the eyes, and the sockets were empty and glaring. Axies pointed at the head. “Look.” Seixa looked again. It wasn’t exactly the kind of thing he wanted to stare at, but Axies had asked him, so he did. Wait… was that metal in the eye? Gingerly, he reached in, and then stopped himself. After Stinky’s death, he didn’t need to do that anymore. He burned iron. It was still unfamiliar, and slightly awkward, but he was skilled enough to do a basic Pull. The line to the metal was much more thin than it ought to be- it really was a Hemalurgic spike. Flaring the ferric, he yanked on the line with as much strength as he could muster. The spike quivered for a moment, and then flew at him, slicing open his hand as he tried to catch it. Seixa frowned, and tapped some gold to speed the healing of the cut. That spike did not look clean, and an infection was one thing he did not want to have to deal with. Axies cleared his throat noisily. “Well?” he said. “Put it in.” Seixa looked down at the spike, then attempted to look at his only remaining eye with his only remaining eye. He failed. “Are- are you sure?” he stammered. “I mean, if this isn’t really Hemalurgic, it’ll kill me. I don’t have enough gold stores to heal that.” “I’m sure. Do it.” “Alright then…” Grimacing, Seixa placed the spike in front of his eye, and then drove it in with his other hand. It hurt. A lot. And he couldn’t see anymore, except for the blue lines his right eye had grown accustomed to. He wasn’t dead, so it must have worked. He now, theoretically, had the power of allomantic steel. But did he really? Seixa had never been able to just accept it on faith; Hemalurgy still wasn’t an area he was comfortable with. He pulled out a vial of all the metals, downed it, and then flicked a coin high into the air. Yes… there was a new reserve. He burned the metal, and pushed the line corresponding to the clip. It didn’t come back down. After playing around with steel for a bit longer, Seixa finally realized the implications of his new ability. Millie had supposedly been Twinborn, yet she’d had spikes for her powers. Did all the other dead “Twinborn” have them as well? He turned to Axies. Axies grinned. “Find out for yourself.” No one was killed! Day 7 has begun. You have 48 hours to decide who to lynch. 1 item was found. Player List
  2. You have no idea what is going to go down in LG19 shortly...

  3. ...yes, I'm going to think you're a traitor because of this. There just isn't a good reason to store pewter if you aren't one. This early in the game, it's much more useful to store tin or gold, for example, both of which increase your chances of death, just like pewter, but also both of which help you survive, not kill people. Saying you're storing pewter is tantamount to saying: "I'm preparing to kill someone without discussion solely based on my own suspicions." That's almost never a good thing. Like I said before, if you can't get them at least left behind, your suspicions aren't good enough to kill them. I'm going to vote for Master Elodin probably, but I won't yet, since I want to see his response.
  4. Night 7: That Would Be Enough Laurelin found Silas the next day, staring at Kae and Verre’s fallen bodies. Each had a huge hole in the middle of the chest, crusted over by now with death. She stood beside him silently, bowing her head in mourning. “Two more deaths...” Silas said sadly. “All so that these Spiked can achieve their ends.” Laurelin shook her head. “So wasteful...” she murmured, looking at Verre’s hair, glittering in the sunlight. Others came up behind them, those few that were left. Myte, ArSel, Star Thief. She heard Jala choke back a sob. “We must find these Spiked,” Silas declared. “There can’t be many left, or they would have already overpowered and murdered us all.” He looked at Star Thief. “What about you, little one? You’ve been very quiet and cute this whole time, just watching us all talk.” She squealed. “Shiny! Shiny! Shiny, I want a shiny!” He dismissed her and turned to ArSel. “What about you, huh?” He grinned. “I don’t think I’m the person to be worried about here. I’m no Spiked! But do you know who is?” “You.” Laurelin’s eyes turned inexorably back to Silas, along with the others’. She looked at him, really looked, for the first time. He could be Spiked, she thought. What has he done to help anyone? He has at least three deaths on his hands, that I’ve heard of... “Yes, what about you, Silas?” asked Jala angrily. She took a step forward. “Was it you who killed Kae, Verre’s big brother, who always told the truth and never hurt a soul?” Step. “Wasn’t it you who killed Danosaur, who’d never harmed a fly, just because she was staying away from people to store chromium?” Step. “Was it you who killed Verre?” He took a step backwards. “Noo...” he said falteringly. He looked almost... guilty? Jala saw it as such, anyway, and leapt onto him, attacking him with nails and teeth as much as with her little carving knife. “YOU KILLED MY FRIEND!” Silas did nothing to stop her. She jabbed her knife beneath his chin, and he fell to the ground, blood pouring out of him to join the blood of Verre and Kae. She fell atop him, sobbing. “My friend...” She didn’t move until Star Thief darted forward, crying, “Shiny!” She pulled out a spike from Silas’ corpse, waving it triumphantly until ArSel took it away. “Probably best not to play with that particular shiny, little one.” She sulked for a moment, then stomped off. “Fine! I’m going to find my own shinies, then, that don’t get stolen by mean, angry adult people!” Slowly, everyone dispersed, until only Jala was left with the three bodies and the ever-spreading pool of blood. Eventually, Myte came back, and gently led Jala away from where she’d been stroking Verre’s sparkling hair, and then the three bodies were left forever in silence. Later, Mayor Axies was walking by himself, trying to get over the deaths of so many of his friends and acquaintances. If this kept up, he wouldn’t have anyone left to rule. How could so many of them be evil? He’d already helped kill five, and found the spikes in their bodies. “Five…” he whispered to himself. “That should be enough. Maybe we should stop.” But then the memory of the death of his twin brother filled him with determination. He’d taken his name afterwards, to remember him. But the original Axies would never have ceased until his village was clear from evil, and he’d be Ruined if he failed to live up to that standard. “As many as it takes” Axies said clearly. “That would be enough.” Lopen was a Spiked Bendalloy Compounder with Allomantic bronze and a Bead of Lerasium! 5. Winning the Dodo Award is like finishing first in an ultramarathon: everyone wants to do it, but no one wants to do the prerequisites. Actually, that might be too fitting. Let me try again. A write-up is like the Honorable Mention prizes in a competition. If you hear your name, you messed up.
