  1. Sigzil of Hoid?
  2. I am on pain meds, so forgive me if I don't make sense. I don't know how well you are thinking of this fight going. I hope your tanks are not an integral part of your plan, because I think any of our guys, especially Deathgale, could reduce them to rubble just for a warm up. This may be just that parent reaction of "my kid is better than your kid," but I also think you underestimate Winterspell. Any water that is around is a deadly weapon. One of your guys had a glass of lemonade powder mixed with water? Instant daggers inside of his stomach and heart. Like you said, Mary is going to be a pretty tough opponent as well. I don't think this is a one-sided fight. A battle of this magnitude is going to have casualties. We have to many Epics of high power for it to be otherwise. I am bringing along two or three Epics to have you kill, I built them assuming they would die. Are you willing to have the same things happen with your Epics? I know that one or two might have regenerating powers, but are they all going to come out unscathed? Is that a realistic outcome of the battle? If the battle goes sour, Kinesis, Dustdevil, and Disruption will all probably die. If the story demands it, I will even allow Winterspell to die. I won't be happy about it, but if he gets checkmated, he goes. He won't go down without a fight, but I can have him go down if needed.
  3. Winterspell would be fine too, but I would rather have them touch down where they were aiming. It's a lot easier than trying to rewrite physics more than the number of times that we will be breaking it in the first place.
  4. Andrew Nalizar or Inspector Harding?
  5. I was just going to have one massive bullet that they all were in. Trying to control multiple would be pretty hard. If we were able to write it at the same time, where Winterspell is able to slow down the ice capsule while Deathgale makes a cushion of air, it may work, but going cold turkey at those velocities will not work so well otherwise. If you have a better destination than the Destructors, it would be better to mention it beforehand. I can have Blindsight see what is going on and just point them in the direction that will put them where they need to be.
  6. I kind of see a bit of a problem with that: inertia. Traveling that fast, it will be a little hard to stop, and destroying the "bullet" that they are traveling in will also cause a bit of a problem. That is how Winterspell is going to a) slow down the people inside so that the Epics without Prime Invincibilities don't die, and get water around him to fight with. If he needs to, he can destroy some sewar lines and get water that way, I just figured that Mary wouldn't be happy with that. It would probably just be easier to have us pick a destination before we launch.
  7. The way that they are traveling, it is more of a point and shoot form. If they notice something in the air, they are going to need to land, and then backtrack all the way there unless they are notified beforehand. If someone wants to meet up, it would be better to tell us before they launch.
  8. Can we maybe get a hint to keep the game going? I'm guessing Iadon from Elantris.
  9. I just finished Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell. I am guessing it is Silence.
  10. Winterspell walked down the stairway, Lightwrought draping her arm through his. After the first minutes of the sunset, they had decided to come down to dinner. As he walked into the room, he saw that the servants had done their best. Most of them had left, but two stood on one side of the room, watching to see if anything was needed by their masters. Kinesis, Winterspell’s personal bodyguard stood against the door, keeping watch over everything going on. Looking to the table again, he smiled. Large platters and bowls covered the tablecloth, holding a roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, warm roles, and every spice and sauce that could possibly go along with them. In their cups, a chilled cranberry-pomegranate juice swirled, mixed with lemon juice and slightly carbonated. The crystal-like walls reflected the sunset outside, making an aura in the room of refracted oranges, purples, and reds. As they walked towards the table, Kineses shouted out that a flying Epic was shooting towards the Keep. Looking over at the wall, Winterspell had just enough time to see a shadow interrupted the aura coming from one wall before the wall tore apart. Being cut from blades of air, the wall toppled to the floor. Since it was meant to be ornamental rather than of the hardness of normal icesteel, it shattered when it hit, throwing shards of ice around the room. Winterspell hurriedly formed a small wall out of water between his wife and the incoming projectiles. Before he had time to form one between himself or any of the servants, the wave of ice shards began tearing through the room. A particularly large one caught him in the upper arm, shattering his shoulder and sending his arm into a thousand pieces. Another shard hit him in the leg, causing him to fall over. After a couple of disoriented seconds, he willed his missing limbs to become liquid, than moved them across the floor to reform his body. Having a Prime Invincibility was a nice perk of being an Epic, but it still hurt like the devil. Standing up, he surveyed the room. One servant had taken a shard of ice straight into his chest. His eyes stared blankly at the ceiling. The other one had several small scratches, but was clutching his leg, where a shard could be seen protruding from both sides. Winterspell walked over to the man, melting the ice and reforming the water to close up the wound. The man would survive until he got to a healing Epic, but he wasn't going to like the meantime. Looking over at Kinesis, he noticed that he had stayed alive by teleporting the table in front of him to create a shield against the storm. Looking towards the wall, he saw Deathgale calmly slide into the room, carried on solid smoke. Scowling with disgust at the other Epics callousness, he looked over to Kinesis and gave him a signal to be at ease. If someone in Lucentia's government had wanted him dead, they would have sent a whole lot more than Deathgale, and he wouldn't be coming in calmly. Looking at the servants, he saw that one was dead, having been standing right next to the wall when it caved in. The other was holding a small, thin shard that protruded from his thigh. Winterspell quickly melted the ice and reformed it to stop the bleeding. The man wouldn't die, but he was going to be very uncomfortable until a healing Epic got around. “Winterspell, something happened, so we’ll need to put you to work.” Deathgale's voice boomed through the chamber as if nothing had happened. Sparks. I can't have a single resting moment from these goons. He could just picture Bloody Mary smiling, telling Deathgale to get him. "Looks to be about the time of Winterspell's favorite moment, the sunset. Deathgale, be a dear and go attack his house. I have some garbage that needs to be taken out. Make sure to destroy as much as possible while you are there." Cursing himself for having dripped water on her carpet earlier, he turned towards Deathgale. "What kind of work do you have for me? Need to find a lost dog? Have the dishes done?" "No, the Destructors in the south and probably even more in the city. Although, you are free to wash as many dishes as you please, after doing your actual work." The Destructors! That does not bode well. Biting off most of the retorts, sarcastic remarks, and insults that he wanted to let loose, Winterspell decided to comply with Deathgale's request. "Fine, yes. Let's get this done. Can't have those vagabonds loose in the city." Just then, a team of Epics ran into the room, led by the head of Winterspell's guard; Dustdevil. Dustdevil quickly took in the state of the room, then quickly got a healing Epic named Medic to check out the wounded servant. "Sorry it took us so long sir," Dustdevil apologized. "We had almost no warning before we were attacked." He gave Deathgale a critical look. "That's fine Captain. Fortunately this wasn't the real attack. It looks like I need to go put down a force of Epics in the South. Do you care to come along?" "Of course sir. It would be my pleasure." Winterspell smiled. As much as he gave the outside world the cold shoulder, he was able to keep people at the Keep pretty happy, and it showed. "First of all, with hostile Epics in the city, I want this place on alert. I will melt all but one of the bridges and fix up the Keep before I leave." With his thoughts, he began to fix the damage done by Deathgale and get some other parts of the Keep ready. Then, glancing over at his wife, he met her approval. "Until further notice, Lightwrought is in charge of the Keep. Secondly, have Disruption set up shifts for the guards. Once everything is under control and shipshape here, send him into the city. Have him keep his mobile handy. If we need him to help us deal with the Destructors, I want him ready. In the meantime he will start looking for other threats. Thirdly, head down to the lower court and raise Blindsight. I think we will be needing to get to the battle fast." "Of course. Right away." Dustdevil hurriedly left the room. Kinesis walked up to him, “Permission to join sir, or would you rather me stay with the Keep? "You may come along if you wish. I think the city will need you more than the Keep will.” Turning to Deathgale, Winterspell decided to give a small retort. "Looks like we are ready to go. Do you want to get there fast or would you rather fly?" “What do you have in mind?” the Epic asked, calmly taking a puff of his cigarette. “We will be going down to a room in the lower south court.” I am going to use the water currents to make a cannon that will shoot us anywhere in the city that we want to go. Have your destination picked by the time we get to Blindsight.” Walking down the stairs with Deathgale and Kinesis in tow, he began to head towards where Blindsight and Dustdevil waited.
  11. Cool. That's good to hear. Thanks. By the way, there is a new Winterspell post up in Astoria.
  12. Mostly good. I went to get my wisdom teeth out. The actual operation only took 30-40 minutes, but I had to stay at the Maxillofacial office for an extra two because I had a bit of a reaction to the anesthesia. I had to have another IV in to get it out of my system, so no crazy stories. The worst of it was me trying to spell out the words "vanilla" and "Arctic Circle" in the air. I apparently gave up on "Arctic Circle" halfway through. Now I am just laying around sleeping, checking 17th Shard, and trying to read Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell. That's cool about the AMA. I don't really have any questions that won't be RAFOed full out from the Reckoners universe. I do have one from outside though if somebody wants to ask it. "If you use a Hemalurgic spike to give a skaa with only skaa ancestors Allomancy or Feruchemy, could they pass that power through blood to their children?" I don't know if that has already been asked, or if anybody even wants to ask it, but there it is.
  13. I went under for an opperation yesterday, so I am behind about ten pages. Is there anything that I need to know?
  14. I'm guessing "In my youth . . . applies to the darkness caused by a Hemalurgic spike that was used at an early age. "The cerebral song" is the voice of Ruin. "The divine lords of heaven" are people that this person looks up to, prrhaps people with divine power- People with a Metalic Art. The "guarded gates" line could refer to a city that is the crown of the kingdom, continent, or world- Luthadel. "Preserved the divine. . ." Could refer to the body of a god. "Threat to friends . . ." Could refer to leaving for the Well of Ascension. I am thinking this is somebody from Mistborn. I'm guessing Vin or the Lord Ruler. Maybe Marsh or Zane.
  15. Quick question concerning these quotes. Do you think that Taravangian lied about the Honorblade being stolen to keep Szeth, or do you think somebody actually has another one? Nalan is pretty scary on his own, but if he had his original Honorblade . . .
  16. Okay. I was a bit confused. I wasn't sure if you were talking about real life, a magic show, or who knows what. Thanks for clearing that up.
  17. Good job on guessing it. IF you can make it work in a way that people could guess it, you could do basically anything. Vin's sister, for example, would need a lot of work and a discriptive Boast since she doesn't have any lines and the only description we have is from passing thoughts and speculation. If it is the name of a random guard that someone passed while walking into a castle, that would not be bueno. It would take too long to figure out, since they have no character traits. At least with Vin's sister, you have a character that we know a few things about.
  18. Yes please. I can't, for the life of me, figure it out.
  19. I explained the backstory of it a bit. I equated it with something like a WMD, I think.
  20. I know it wasn't much, but I figured that we shouls keep it straight.Concerning Regalia:
  21. Fedcomic, I loved what you said. It was very poetic and I like how you said it. I can say for sure that along with the new Words of Radiance, I will be buying both the old and the new. I loved the originals how they were, but having the updated pieces will be nice as well.
  22. I'm going to spoiler this just in case somebody hasn't read Firefight.
