  1. Maybe, but you might just "die" and pass on to the spiritual realm. From the OP "After you die you’ll return here for a couple cycles before “passing on” (see, morbid guy, right?) during which you’ll be “judged for your actions” and you might potentially change your outlook on life." Makes me think dying isn't so straightforward in this game. Besides Straw has been online during this cycle and still didn't post so he had a chance to post and didn't.
  2. So our two lynching options are Cloud and Straw at the moment. Straws great crimes was stealing Alvrons name in sign-ups, being inactive, and being the alternative option to cloud. Clouds crimes come down to suggesting something kinda silly. At least he tried to generate discussion though. Of the two I think I would prefer Straw for inactivity. I'm not sure how active the contribution crusade has been since I took my sabbatical but it's purpose was in the right spot.
  3. If there is only one vote required for a lynch plus ties are decided randomly then there is no way that there won't be a lynch this cycle as long as one single person decides to place a vote. Just keep that in mind anyone who is still unsure about Day 1 lynches ------- "Death of a god? Destruction of a realm!? Burning city! This sounds like the perfect time for SCIENCE!!" The yell from the man in the mangy lab coat caused several people to stop their arguing over who to kill long enough to give a quizzical look before continuing with their bickering. Seeing this, Dr C took up his grand lecturing pose on top of a boulder, which was covered unmistakably in bird feces. This would have been obvious to anyone who was paying the least bit of attention to their surroundings. Unfortunately Dr C was not one to observe his surroundings and once again his great mind was tarnished in the view of others by his supreme incompetence. "Yes now is the time for your lives and this whole world to be saved by the wonders of science. And I, Dr C, the greatest of all scientists shall this day be sciences champion!" The small delay that came next was unfortunate but necessary as it's tough to continue preaching while slipping on a newly deposited pile of bird poo and nearly falling off a boulder. Nonetheless nothing could stop the science from spreading, the speech must go on! (Or so thought the man in the tattered lab coat rambling on a poo covered boulder) "How you ask will I endeavor to lead you all from this terrible danger? I shall begin using the most sacred tenant of the scientific method. Mysterious, amazing, yet still full of logic.... The Grant Application!!" With that bold and awe-inspiring revelation the speech ended. Not because the doctor had run out of words but because as he reached into his pack and withdrew a stack of messy papers he simultaneously lost his battle with the slimy boulder. Slipping and sliding off the back of the stone and out of sight.
  4. Thanks for the response Araris. I'm not sure. Right now I think Alvron has the most votes with 3 and nobody else has more than one vote on them. So far I don't see any reason for the Alv lynch and it isn't really generating any discussion either. I'm not against a lynch in principal if we can get enough people involved but that hasn't really happened yet @Ecthelion III is there a minimum amount of votes required for a lynch? Or is one vote enough?
  5. I don't think anyone is really convinced Alvron is evil at the moment. The previous votes were silly votes based on the write-up. Not much of a reason to kill him. @Araris Valerian I would still like to know your reasoning for not using an essence mark last night. I'll leave my vote where it is for now
  6. Maybe it has something to do with your Spiritweb. We know that location has an affect on how you can use investiture and given the secretive nature of this game there very well may be abilities that can be gained or granted throughout the game. Perhaps this means that since you are from Arelon and we are currently in Arelon you have the possibility of being chosen by the Shaod and becoming an Elantrian or something like that. Was it Phil who answered this? If so we were already warned not to trust Phil before the game even started.
  7. So of the five people who didn't use an essence mark/ find another way to the physical realm only two of them actually posted Night 0, Alvron and STINK. Both of them mentioned testing the warning from Phil about the essence marks. Daniyah, A Joe in the Bush, and Araris didn't post last cycle and stayed in the Cognitive realm.. Araris was active on the shard during Night 0 so likely had read his GM PM and rreceived the warning. Why did you choose to remain in the Cognitive realm? The same goes for Daniyah and A Joe in the Bush since it seems like you were online during the night as well
  8. "Science! The scientific method. The only way to truly understand the cosmere!" Proclaimed the man in the lab coat that may have once been white, prior to being caught in several mudslides, at least three highstorms, and no fewer than nine wildfires. He strutted back and forth along the beach as if he were lecturing at one of the great universities in Silverlight. The scholarly air about him was unfortunately slightly diminished by the fact that it was obvious to everyone (but him) that no-one cared one bit what he was saying. However if anyone had been paying attention to him the realization that he had lost a boot in the sand and continued his lecture without it would have stripped any small amount of regard that had remained beyond an initial glance. The man appeared not to care and continued with his speech. "Investiture! Magic! The Shards themselves! You may be thinking 'How can this man espouse science as the only way when our lives are surrounded by all these things it can't explain?'" He paused as if waiting for a response from a fixated audience. "That is where you are most wrong! Science explains all! Observation, hypotheses, and experimentation will show you the true nature of all these things you call Magic" "You may say to me 'If you really are a scientist then you know the burden of proof lies upon you! Show us how science explains all.' Oh but I shall! You will all see the wonders of this world brought low by the powers of reason! This time tomorrow all will be convinced!" And with that the old man spun, lab coat waving behind him, and strode into the forrest while attempting what appeared to be a cackle.
  9. Given the nature of this game all roles are basically secret . But yeah the two roles are likely special in some way, maybe heads of the factions, actual named cosmere characters, or potentially neutrals/those with their own victory conditions. It appears as though we will be getting game related info from the write-ups. I'm not sure what else we can get out of this write-up beyond the role stuff. Rayse is mentioned in the "voice in our heads", I'm leaning towards thinking that means he isn't in the game as one of the special roles.
  10. Thanks it's good to be back I think. Dying time and time again is enjoyable in a morbid sort of way... I suppose I disappeared into the whole big wide scary real world that exists once you finally leave school. This game will sort of be my test game to see if I can survive both a real adult person job and a SE game at the same time.
  11. Well.... It's been a while since I've done any of these. Why not join one where everybody will be just as confused as I am sure to be. Sign me up as Dr. C Dr. C is excited to try out his new investiture detecting device on all you interesting people! All it takes is a drop of blood and I can tell you exactly how invested you are in completely arbitrary units! Well it might take a it more than a drop of blood... maybe an ounce... pint? Surely no more than a dozen litres. Anyways, it is Completely Safe* and 100% accurate over half the time! All that is required to be tested is an undamaged spirit web and a presence in the physical realm. Don't miss out on your chance while this amazing technology is still free! *Completely Safe is a trademark of Dr. Cs Technological Laboratories. It is not a guarantee by Dr. C or anyone in his laboratory of your safety should you choose to be tested. Dr C is not responsible for any harm that may occur as a direct or indirect result of any tests. Potential side effects include but are not limited to evisceration, disembowelment, spontaneous combustion, an inability to get the Rick Astley song "Never Gonna Give You Up" out of your head, forgetting your purpose in life, and nausea.
  12. I don't like how both of you seem to be trying to split the votes this late in the cycle.
  13. I'll do my best but I'm fairly busy for the rest of the night. However I don't think this will work anyways given the fact that all the villagers don't trust each other and that there is no way to tell whether it's an eliminator or villager leading a last minute vote change. How would you tell your plan apart from eliminators trying to swing the vote?
  14. All that they need to do at this point is show up in the last couple minutes and place votes all on one villager and it's game over. I don't really like my option here but unfortunately I'm not sure if I will be around much more this cycle. The best I can do is try and provide a lynch that the elims can't take over. Assassin Nyali EDIT: Post 1000! Cool, maybe I should've waited till I had something cooler to say for number 1000.
  15. We both had taken over a the point there was no kill Nyali. I was just MIA for a day which is why Aman suspects me. I have been thinking recently about STINK agreeing to being sacrificed so that some teammates can get trusted, aka Aman. That would also explain the Mage lynch. Once one person who contributed to STINKs lynch was killed and found innocent the others would gain even more trust than normally they would. Still that's just paranoia more than anything at this point
  16. So, one more mislynch and we lose correct? I'm good with either Assassin or Nyali. I don't see any obvious reasons for ecthellion being killed. Likely because it doesn't help us much with narrowing stuff down.
  17. I started the vote on him I believe and it wasn't just for inactivity. I think if anything he is more suspicious now given the circumstances of the lynch that saved him.
  18. I still really don't trust Nyali so I'm not happy with polking being the alternate lynch target and this makes me more suspicious of Assassin. I'm going to leave my vote where it is for now. What are your thoughts on assassin, Nyali? You really haven't said anything about assassin is in your suspicion list where assassin was in the mushy middle where you don't have a read on anyone. Has that changed?
  19. Arinian, thanks for responding. I wasn't expecting that much support for a lynch on you. It seems a bit odd to me actually how many people voted for you and that there was also an immediate counter vote on Assassin by several people. Not sure if it is connected but either way this has become an interesting vote as it seems like neither lynch option has too much reasoning behind it at this point. I'm going to leave my vote for now and see how things play out.
  20. I didn't mean my vote as a way of killing an inactive. I do have a little reasoning for my vote and Arinian also was looking at the thread when I posted it so I was actually hoping for a reply. Maybe if I use a tag it'll get a reply @Arinian
  21. So it seems like most people agree that stick was the elim kill which I agree with but for other reasons. In the write-up where Bard was killed his body disappeared. "both the skeleton and the body of Huxton were gone" and in this write-up "they could not find Stick's body. It was as though the man had vanished entirely overnight." plus we never found kasimirs body either. So likely whoever disappears in the night was killed by the traitor kill and if we find the body it's from another cause. C.L was exhausted after another long night exploring the house. There was still no proof that there was any sentient awakenings going on here! He still hadn't heard any unnerving music or smelled anything fishy (but he did smell something odd every time he passed that Hammer fellow). This obviously leads to only one possible conclusion. They were all in on it! This whole house was built to create the most impossible mystery of all time to test the great C.L Anky to see if he is worthy of being welcomed in to their secret society of the greatest investigators of all time! Finally! My brilliance is being recognized. I knew it was only a matter of time. I will show you all how great I am and rightfully join with the greatest of all time! "I can do this!" yelled C.L, uncaring of the many strange looks he got for yelling alone in the corner. It didn't matter he was prepared for anything! But first time to interview some suspects! "You, Arinian, I see you lurking over there! What have you been doing during all these dark mysterious nights?" So looking back I still haven't sen much suspicious activity. I did however notice arinians change of tone regarding the lynch. From "For me it seems like he just was against lynch on the first day(and I agree with him). Because, I don't understand how you want to get useful info from lynch of inactive(and how suspicion can be landed on someone if there was only two votes on him, your and Elenion's). It was just lynch of inactive player that truly gave nothing." To later saying: "Wait what are you doing? There no lynch if draw." along with a vote for Rae. Why the change? You went from semi-anti lynch to pushing hard for a lynch.
  22. Daniyah was killed last cycle and I'm assuming that Hael didn't lie to us and she really is a researcher. But I can't argue with that vote considering I did say what you are saying I said. I just think that when asked a question it is better to tell the truth then lie which is why I said what I did. I would like a bit more to respond to then just "made a post I didn't like once". I'm still mostly suspicious of Nyali for reasons stated last cycle and now for me showing up on her trusted list for no explainable reason. But for now I would like to hear from Assassin who I believe is now @Ookla the Colorful? The last post was asking to make sure STINK (When he was ookla the Bard) was sTINK and not Bard. this in itself isn't suspicious except that it was asked over 12 hours after STINK confirmed that in an edit. This seems like a purposeful distancing from a teammate. Other than that assassin has barely posted this game and nothing relevant beyond "a gut suspicion of jondesu, possible remnant of MR17".
  23. I think you mean "I don't think either are eliminators" Anyways sure it is something an eliminator could say. Should I say that I think one of them is a traitor and then refrain from voting. I could choose to vote for one of them and then get in trouble for being the one who broke the tie to lynch a villager. I should point out that I never Also in case you haven't noticed but daniayah said the exact same thing as I did the post before so that would make both of us equally suspicious.
