  1. The Apex Trilogy by Jake Bible: Mitch M.F Masters is the most badass mech pilot I have known. This series just mash nearly every SF tropes into existence (except space opera).
  2. One thing baffles me about her is how can the woman find so many cola to drink, from my reading I thought soft drink is a luxury item post-Calamity and with that much sugar intake, how the hell her teeth hadn't already rotten away?
  3. Currently reading Cibola Burns, anybody here a fan of James S. A. Corey "The Expense"?
  4. Check The Expense by James S. A. Corey: this series is awesome, like BSG meet Firefly + Alien. And now Syfy has made a TV series of it. Currently, this is the best SF series I have read. Furthermore, I urge people to read Old man's war by John Scalzi and Terms of Enlistment by Mark Kloos, both are very good series too.
  5. The Grimnoir Chronicles: magic with a healthy dose of guns and crazy stuffs that go boom.
  6. The Grimnoir Chronicles by Larry Correia. This thing is like Stormlight Archives mashed with Alloy of Law and a lot of guns and more guns. The author is an absolute gun nut, stuff just gets blown up every few chapters but the magic system and technology is consistent and folks reading Cosmere novels will spot the similarities right away.
  7. Hey would you please show me the link? I can't find it anywhere.
  8. In the vein of Laral theory, what about Tarah, looks like she is the one that Kal really cares about with but we don't know anything except tidbit that she helped Kal move on from Tien's death.
  9. In Eshonai chapters, total forms used to be hundred but I wonder if it reached that number due to combination (Like Binding to 2 different spren), leaving "Prime" forms to be muliplication of 16. 13 forms are what I counted from the epigraphs: Warform Mateform Workform Nimbleform Dullform Scholarform Artform Mediationform Stormform Decayform Nightform Smokeform Further note, anybody noticed that the layout of the Shatterd Plain itself is disturbingly similar to Elendel: a circular area divided into 8 areas?
  10. About the Big Finish audio drama, they continue the Classic Who in the main range, so if you haven't watched the show than it can be hard to follow, but I think people should watch the 8th doctor movie with Paul Mcgan and than listen to the new 8th doctor series with Paul Mcgan and Sheridan Smith, the synergy between the two of them are near divine, and dare you to sit still after listening to the end of the final chapter. The audio series take the best of the series, remove almost all of the nonsense of the TV, the quality of writing is really consistent. (none of the nonsense shipper war in the new series, character development is really belivable). In short, Whovians should listen to Big Finish, especially those who watched the Classic. It can be hard to get into but when you hook up you don't even want to watch TV series.
  11. Titanfall. Zooming around the map with Mk5 pistol + satchel is pure drug.
  12. Yeah this make more sense although I still can't figure out why she do it.
  13. From WoK, we knew that Stormform create the Everstorm, so maybe Nightform/Smokeform will create the Night of Sorrows and Decayform will create the Desolation. Currently, there are 13 forms for the Parshendi, I wonder if we can know the total number of their forms, and whether each form is a counterpart to the respective Knight Radiants's order, like Stormform >< Dustbringer.
  14. In chapter 30 "Nature Blushing" we have: What if Shallan's mother did not simply try to kill her but rather spiked her, that's why she had to go through all the trouble of bringing another man into the house, because if she wanted to steal her investiture. Furthermore, in Teft's chapter, we know there are folks like the Envisagers who purposedfully put themselves in danger so that their Surgebinding can manifest, that sounds a lot like Snapping to me.
  15. Memory of flames serie by Stephen Deas. The guy really knows how to portrait the Big D. Anything by Jim Butcher Anything by John Scalzi
  16. Yeah but the same thing also happened to Ender's game and it strays way too far from the original book. Furthermore, nobody remember Reen? I would very much like Reen to be voiced by David Tennant and I can not wait to hear him say: "Kill [insert anybody happened to meet Zane]".
