    Probably the best thing you could do is not dance around the issue. When asked to go to the prom as friends, you could respond with something like "why are you doing this to yourself?" If you value her friendship, let her know but tell her that going to prom with her is not conducive to maintaining a friendship. I mean, that isn't what prom is for! The whole event screams "teenage romance". Reactions may vary, but it probably helps to be clear in the long run.

    Growing up, I use to listen to a rock station after school. Then one day, they started having one of those stupid talk shows from two to eight. No music, just stupid people saying stupid things and laughing their stupid laughs (what percentage of these shows are just the host laughing at how clever they are, any way?) I never trusted radio again after that.

    Agreed, I can see many people can enjoy the movie, even if they are disappointed. I even enjoyed a good portion of it...mostly the parts with Batman.

    If math is so great, what's the deal with the Bertrand Paradox? I view math as a language, a descriptor of what we observe rather than an aspect of the thing being observed. As our understanding of the thing being observed grows more sophisticated, so does the language. Thus, we progress from Newtonian calculus to, say, quantum mechanics. In either event, we create the language even if we do not create the object being described.

    Looking into it more, it appears that tobacco and tobacco smoke are considered carcinogenic. I was conflating them with mere nicotine. My pet peeve still persists, particularly if you vape in a bookstore!

    Not entirely accurate, though it does hit on a valid point. Though there is doubt if it is a main driver in lung cancer, there are indications that it can contribute to mouth cancer (which should surprise no one) and pancreatic cancer.And though it may not cause the cancers we normally associate with smoking, it does "promote" cancer, or make it worse.

    Though the movie was entertaining for a good portion, it was a mess as well. A lot of issues would be with the flow and just how pointless the superman portions were for the most part. I mean, there seems to be no follow through on anything to do with Superman and Lois Lane might as well not be in the film. You can certainly still enjoy it, like I said it has some very entertaining parts. But don't kid yourselves, the critics are justified in their negative reviews as well.

    If nicotine is a carcinogen, the vapor has nicotine in it. That means any sort of adverse effects of second hand smoke attributable to nicotine is in vapor as well. This is because your body does not come close to absorbing all the nicotine in smoke or vapor (if it did, chain smokers would be doing like flies, as the calculation is that 70 mg of nicotine in the body is all it takes to kill whatever the standard man is in these measurements).
