that does make more sense that it would be TLR and not Sazed. Thanks for asking the research!

The question of Wax vs. Ironman is interesting. I think Wax would ultimately lose though it wouldn't be easy for Stark. The fact that he shoots plasma based projectiles I don't invite if Wax could push on them or not. Rockets would be useless, Wax's bubble he uses pushes bullets, I don't think he'd have trouble pushing rockets

If I remember right, there is a WoB about TLR that Knowed the Cosmere but He didn't care of events out of Scadrial.
I remember that WoB, but it may have been about Sazed and not TLR if I remember correctly. But it's been a while.

Obviously this is speculation, but I think the Harmonium symbol is a really big indicator to Hoid's overall goal. Not that he is trying to acquire Harmonium or anything like that, I suspect that Brandon drew the symbol as a nod to it being the first step to recombining the shards. With this clue my guess is that Hoid is trying to reassemble Adonalsium.
That's exactly what I was thinking. I was wondering if anyone else would come up with that theory. Kudos my friend!

I am not certain "vigilante" is the right word. We have not seen Hoid actively "vigilante" against anyone. We had glimpses of him providing information to others, and with the exception of one specific recent glimpse, it was not clear that what he was doing at that moment advanced his plans significantly.
Maybe not not vigilante, maybe "atonement"?
iBambam: excellent question, and great answers. Lots to ponder.
Thanks! I think vigilante might be a good word, not necessarily punisher level, but maybe like a more Robin Hood esc vigilante?

I definitely will, as soon as I finish BoM!

In my preorder copy of Bands of Mourning I asked Brandon a question which I debated for a while with some of you guys. The exact wording of my question was:
"Hoid says he would watch Roshar burn if it meant his goals were achieved. Would Hoid go so far as to kill to achieve these goals? Can you give a hint about what his goals are?"
In the lower left-hand corner he drew the symbol for Harmonium, I'm assuming a new Godmetal. To my knowledge we don't know anything about this yet. I'm super stoked to read the book, but I had to share this info with everyone first.
So Hoid would, and probably will kill. And, we probably won't agree with some of his goals, that has me extremely interested.

Yeah, I think Hoid's hatred of Hemalurgy and Rayse is more specifically about the murdering, and less about the actual magic or shards. However, it is interesting to me how Hoid hates Hemalurgy, and Brandon has said Hemalurgy is very dangerous to the Cosmere.

That is very plausible, and based on how HoA played out, seems very likely.

Oh wow... Well then, that is equally scary and kinda cool all at once.

That is absolutely accurate, and makes me want to watch doctor who. I've never seen a single episode, but put it like that, and I may watch it now.I would like to reference Dr. Who.
The story is about a clever man who is older than he seems. He travels different worlds, is very hard to kill, doesn't like hurting people, and wherever he goes, he makes people better. He doesn't always go where he necessarily wants to, but he always goes where he needs to. He is very clever and the number of people who praise him versus those who curse him are about even. He also has a dark past, and (at one point) is/was chased by a group of people who also can travel to other worlds and they have a policy of non-intervention, which he flagrantly breaks. Also, we don't know his real name.
The Doctor is Hoid. Perhaps an alternate dimension Hoid, but Hoid.

That kind of brings up an interesting, Ham-like, philosophical question. Can we consider a shards intent to be evil? Because the shard itself is controlled and shaped by it's intent, Odium doesn't choose to be the embodiment of hatred, it just is. Now, the actions taken by a shards holder is another thing entirely, however even so, they are still being driven by the intent of the shard they hold.
For example, take Ati. At what point do we consider Ati to have become evil, when we know he was a good person who was shaped by the intent of his shard? Was it because his shard was evil? Or were his decisions simply what made him evil?

Or whatever power source was behind the Fain. I still think there is another being that opposed Adonalsium and had a power at least of equal strength that eventually killed the person holding Adonalsium, or actually shattered it as well. Now, where this other power is in the Cosmere right now? No clue.

I could definitely see a lot of the characters unwittingly being used by Odium. It will be interesting to see who/why falls the quickest and becomes Odium's main tool.

I think the Thrill it's probably the best example we have of Odium influencing things on Roshar. I'm sure we'll see a lot more manipulation on his part in upcoming books

Well this is a large can of worms you are opening up my friend. I'll just start off with my favorite quote from Hoid.
"And while I am your friend, please understand that our goals do not completely align. You must not trust yourself with me. If I have to watch this world crumble and burn to get what I need, I will do so. With tears, yes, but I would let it happen."

I think this theory has some merit, but I'm inclined to think that Renarin's visions have more to do with being a Truthwatcher than anything else.
And if any of the Kholin's are going to be succumb to Odium,I think it's definitely Adolin.

Quite honesty, it's probably a combination of all of these. Autonomy doesn't like that two shards have been fused together. He doesn't like that this new combined shard harmony is playing chess with the people he should only watch over. Then the fact that he literally controls his hemalurgic constructs at times completely taking away their free will, must infuriate Autonomy.

Well keep in mind a lot may happen from now until the end of the Cosmere. Maybe if Hoid does end up killing, he kills someone that makes everyone jump for joy! Like when Vin killed the lord ruler! If Sanderson RAFOs a question like that, I will loose a lot of respect for our favorite worldhopper,
However, then we may later realize that in doing so Hoid sets some terrible event in motion, but... You know.... Stuff happens lol

Perhaps Autonomy feels Harmony should be separated into Preservation and Ruin again, because in being combined into one being, they are no longer free to work alone. So perhaps Autonomy is meddling in Scadrial for that specific purpose.

I think this theory is really cool, and as I plan on reading SA again after bands of mourning I'll definitely pay attention to this!

That's definitely true! Haha

That's a pretty interesting theory.
By the way, I asked Brandon if Hoid would go so far as to kill if it meant achieving his goals in my bands of mourning preorder. So I'll let you guys know what my answer is when I get my book!

iBambam – Spren do NOT exist in the Cognitive Realm. Only ideas reside there. Ideas do not become spren (“living ideas” according to Jasnah) UNTIL they migrate to the Physical Realm. (Btw, is your name a Flintstones' reference?)
I’m inclined to agree with Pathfinder. The spren are probably bonded to a Worldhopper who is either a native Rosharan or who visited Roshar and became bonded.
Well first off, that's not true, as someone else pointed out lol and second, as for my user name, it's not a Flintstones reference, it deals with my actual name.

I apologize if this theory is already out there, I've been gone a while and haven't read through this entire thread.
A crazy theory I recently came up with is that Adolin, because of his hatred of Sadeas and the murder of him, will be influenced heavily by Odium and turn on Dalinar and Kaladin. He will not become a shardbearer, but become Odium's splinter (sorry I can't for the life of me remember the proper term ). The fifth book will then culminate in Kaladin and Adolin fighting eachother. Not sure where Szeth fits into all of this though.
