  1. Since you lose your peripheral vision when tapping sight, to hear if someone is sneaking up on you? Like,I don't know,a group of Koloss? It seems like it would be comin sense to someone like Sazed to do something like that if he could.

  2. We only ever saw Sazed tap one sense at a time, that would lead me to believe you can only tap one. He specifically mentions not seeing our hearing the group of Koloss sneaking up on him in WoA. That's another reason I'd lean towards only being able to tap one at a time, if he could also tap heading while tapping sight why wouldn't he?

  3. Your right you have to choose which one you are tapping at the moment. Forgot about that. Even though you can only use one feruchmically at a time you can store all of them for burning allomantically right? So I still could compound sight/hearing at the same time?

I'm not 100% sure you can tap two different senses at once, if you can then I see no reason why compounding like that wouldn't work.

  4. Tin in Feruchemy stores a specific sense though, whereas burning tin increases all of your senses. Also, Sazed says that when he uses tin for sight he can focus on a point and see an insane amount of detail, but loses his peripheral vision.

  5. IIRC Demoux was intended to die but as part of a personal deal with a friend Brandon made him live and get the girl... Killing him and replacing him with a Kandra would defeat the (likely) spirit of that change.

That's right, I forgot about that. My apologies. Although I could see Sanderson making that part of the deal with his friend, "yes, I'll let your character live, under the condition of being a secret kandra later on." Lol
  6. My personal theory is that the reference to the God Beyond is in fact Adonalsium, and that it was shattered by some unknown force equal to, or greater in power. I think that Hoid was close to the being, and when it shattered, that's where Hoid's loss, and his mission develops. Unfortunately, we don't know for sure if Hoid is in some way responsible for the shattering, or truly was there as only a witness. Hoid may not even be trying to piece Adonalsium together, but simply trying to save his friends.

  7. But you would revert to your original speed once the metal is burned up. Once the bubble pops, everything shows back down. I guess you could theoretically travel a long distance in that short powerful burst, but we still have the issue of only the ship traveling at those speeds in the bubble, while outside the bubble still traveling slower.

  8. @moogle I will have to re-read Sixth of Dusk. I only read it once. But I've never thought of mistfabrials, that makes a LOT of sense. Although I still feel like we need to learn more about how Bendalloy bubbles work, because if their size can be altered, Wayne should be able to flair Bendalloy to increase his bubble size, correct?

If a mistfabrial was created to produce the effect of a Bendalloy bubble, wouldn't it be the same size, but last infinitely longer?

Unless it's a combination of windrunner/bendalloy hybrid fabrial, or something similar to move at FTL speeds with the bubble moving with you, but I'm still not convinced that alone would allow the ship to move faster. I think Cadmium must be involved somehow.

EDIT: We're overlooking a feruchemic ability here. Storing iron. In the first chapter of part 2 in WoA Sazed says;"the terris philosophers had much to say on using an ironmind. They explained that the power didn't actually change a person's bulk or size-it just somehow changed the way that the ground pulled against them."

What if ironmind's actually store the pull of gravity (relative to the weight of the person storing)? This, combined with Cadmium or Bendalloy could produce an effect that could allow for a ship using mistfabrials (brilliant find moogle, btw) and perhaps a windrunning fabrial to move at FTL speeds by making the ship lighter or heavier to create more/less friction, because even in weightless space friction will still slow one down. But the ships engines could propel the ship at a much faster rate of speed if the ship is "lighter".

  9. Mechanical Allomancy meaning the ship would be burning the metal? I'd have to argue against that, UNLESS, it were awakened and that allowed it to spend/absorb investiture similar to nightblood.

However, how would Allomancy being mechanical allow for a larger Bendalloy bubble? Do larger people create a larger bubble? If that is the case there is merit to your argument.

  10. I have one major problem with this theory. Aren't Bendalloy bubbles relatively small? Like only a few meters in width? Wayne specifically states he can't change the size of the bubble.

So are we assuming that rule is broken? Or are multiple bendalloy mistings burning at the same time to consume the whole ship?

I think Bendalloy and Cadmium are definitely part of the equation, but not the answer. Perhaps a twinborn bendalloy compounder can expand the size of his bubble, but we still have all of the same issues.

  11. This thread has gotten significantly off topic, but I don't mind that lol. I still have no clue who the kandra could be, or where it is.

But what if the kandra is in plain sight, literally. What if it is OreSeur, or TenSoon, or MeLaan? What a twist of our kandra worldhopper has only been seen so far on Scadrial, it's home planet?

  12. I think it's the kind of connection that makes the 'life-sense' on Nalthis work.

The feeling of there being someone else in a room when you can't hear or see them.

So when filling a duraluminmind, someone with perfect life sense would probably not be able to sense you, so you'd seem like a drab.

When you're tapping connection, they would think you have lots and lots of Breaths. (I think)

That would be very interesting to see happen on Nalthis. Perhaps there's some connection with this theory and the Terriswoman on Nalthis in Warbreaker? It may make it easier to find her in Warbreaker now? Although I think we would have noticed if someone felt breath in a character who should have been a drab.

  13. What if Adonalsium was the God Beyond's (GB's) tool, or whatever made his consciousness powerful? What if now, he's just an empty shell, lacking all of his Aspects and power? I think that when all of the shards are "assembled" somehow, the collective shards will be the limitless power of a true God, across the entire Cosmere.

Am I making sense here? I will try to summarize: Adonalsium was like a Mega-Shard that also held the personality of the being that held it. The reason that the individual Shards' intents change the personality of the holders is because they are imbalanced, each containing a certain facet of The GB's consciousness.

Now someone point out the many holes in my logic so I can rest.

I'm not going to point out any holes in your logic, I think you're on the right track. I think that our 2 major options are that Adonalsium and the God Beyond are basically the same deity (meaning, Adonalsium is the GB's emotions/personality that was shattered), or there is another being as powerful as the GB/Adonalsium that caused The Shattering.

And it all has something to do with Hoid.

  14. Well, as the holder of the Blade of Theoryshapers I extrapolated it upon Hemalurgical spikes needing to came in contact with flowing blood, but the part of them being made of allomantic metals allowing to steal specific traits may work only on Scadrial. Seems like colours with them having to do with Awakening is a safe guess to be defining what can spikes steal on Nalthis.

But I have to wonder what can exactly be stolen on Nalthis? Apart from all these human traits, you can pretty much steal only Breaths, there are no specific abilities about Awakening. Breaths are Breaths, there is no difference between them.

I don't know if it would even be necessary to steal breaths with hemalurgy. Most give theirs willingly, and as seen in warbreaker, torture is a method used to take someone's breath as well.
