  1. I want the revival to be a culmination of a character arc for Adolin involving his relationship with Dalinar and his society. We've seen him trying to be what other people think he should be, I want him to discover what he wants to be.

I also don't want Dalinar's bondsmith powers to get involved because I want it to be fundamentally Adolin's show, not Dalinar's. Let Adolin have his own arc.

Where have all the shardblades gone?

    Long time passing.

Where have all the shardblades gone, long long time ago?

Where have all the shardblades gone?

Young girls pick them, every one.

When will they ever learn?  When will they ever learn?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of that song.

*sigh* I guess, I was hoping that Hoid would be stuck on Roshar so that we might see more of him in SA 4.

I imagine he will stick around for the rest of the current arc given the fact that he seems interested in seeing Odium defeated.

    After that

    Spoiler

We know he was on Scadrial during the events of Era 2, but we don't know exactly when that takes place relative to the SA timeline except after book 5 and possibly during the gap between arcs.

  4. the Honorblades are significantly less stormlight-efficent.

also, stealing one would be very attention grabbing. He probably doesn't want to deal with the Stone Shamans and the possibility that Odium would either directly notice the the3ft or notice the reactions and track him down from that.

  5. I think he'll have to swear the Oaths to revive her fully and I expect them to end up with a basically normal Nahel bond by the end despite the unusual formation.

I also think Hoid was looking specifically for Lightweaving to fill in the shortcomings in his Yolish Lightweaving. and wouldn't be motivated to bond with more spren. Also I don't expect reviving dead blades to ever be common or easy.

I agree. I want Adolin to revive his Blade, because he would be an Edgedancer, so he would end up going to Lift to learn the Surges, and Lift would be Lift. I can just picture Adolin sassing Lift hoe to use Abrasion, and Lift saying something like “you make yourself Awesome and then Slick yourself real good.”

I expect they'll get along, though I do expect some sass, because Lift will always be herself and Adolin's not above countering with a little sass of his own.

I just binged the whole stormlight archive in one manic push and am starting in on my second run. I have one desire. One boon to beg of the Sanderson Father. Adolin needs to find a way to revive/resurrect his shard blade spren.

    So what’s your one thing?

I agree that Adolin needs to ressurect Maya. I already love her SO MUCH.

As for other things I need, I need Jasnah to NOT be straight.

  8. iirc there actually was windspren around when he was trying to swear the Fourth Ideal, so.

I do think there's some connection between lesser spren and Plate, though I agree that the idea that Plate is comprised of lesser spren has some serious issues.

  9. Autonomy's avatars are not necessarily conventionally physical and I suspect most of them are not.  The process of a Shard forming a physical form probably doesn't have much to do with avatars.

We saw Cultivation do something like that, though it wasn't a 'human' body.

Regardless I do agree with @Wandering Investor that it wouldn't necessarily matter at this point if he was descended from Tanavast, as presumably lots of people are if he had kids that long ago. Also Tanavast and Cultivation were romantically involved so I don't think he'd have been slumming around with some girl.

A bunch of people think Dalinar either has already ascended(briefly when swearing the third ideal) or will ascend at some point in the future.

He did not fully Ascend but I think he accessed enough of Honor's power to become a Sliver, like

    Spoiler

Vin at the Well of Ascension, accessing part of Preservation's power but not all of it.

this is supported by Odium explicitly using the term "Ascend" (with capital) when talking to Taravagian.

And I think it's likely he will end up fully Ascending at some point, possibly at the end of book 5.
