Controlling metals doesn't mean magnetic powers. But, there is indeed a name for someone who can control/use metals: Allomancer. Read Mistborn, and you'll understand.

Ohh, this a fun one, but I'm going to have to warn that I will surely misspell them, and as a result my old History of Life (through the fossil records) professor will be upset at me. Also, I will leave my answers up for an hour, then come back and post a picture of each so everyone can see these lovely creatures. [Edit, Pictures have now been added] 1) Coelacanth (a lobed fish species) 2) Ginko Biloba (a tree) 3) Stromatolites (layered bacteria mats, the FIRST creatures to produce oxygen!) 4) Chambered nautilus (a cool, Fibonacci sequenced, mollusk) 5) Horseshoe Crab (Probably a Voidbringer because their blood is a funny color: blue) Bonus Living Fossils! 6) Crocodiles (Roarrrrrr!) 7) Hagfish (weird, eel-like jaw-less fishes) 8) Gars! (Cool, long and thin fishes) Ok, now that I've had my fun with living fossils: WLIU, what are the 5 countries that have part of their territory in both Asia AND Europe. Of the five, which two have more than 10% of their population living on the European side?

What is everyone's favorite what If/comic from Randall? I'm still a huge fan of the Nathan Fillion skateboard race or the cat with the laser pointer. Now for what if...I've only just started reading those and don't have a large enough sample size to determine a favorite.

When a question requires a spreadsheet to help you efficiently keep track of your answers...you know it's a good question Without further ado, and in no specific order: 1 The Broken One 2 Shard 3 Sliver 4 Mistborn 5 Lamespren 6 Darkeye 7 Lighteye 8 Babsk 9 Raidant Squire 10 Pahn Khal 11 Gyorn 12 Wyrm 13 Ardent 14 Bloodsealer 15 Rambleman 16 Lord Ruler 17 Stormwarden 18 Idrian Monk 19 Arbiter 20 voidbringer 21 Forger 22 Savant 23 Arteth 24 House Lord 25 Obligator 26 Skaa 27 Bridgeman 28 Hazekiller 29 Misting 30 Ferring 31 Forescout 32 Noble 33 Cobalt Guard 34 Prelan 35 King's Wit What 17th Sharders are in the top ten for Reputation Points? You beat me to it little wilson, I was just typing the following: Ohhh! What a great movie. Here ya go: 1) "As you wishhhhhhhh" - Westley 2) "Inconceivable!" - Vizzini 3) "There is a shortage of perfect breasts in this world. It would be a pity to damage yours." - Westley 4) "Mawwwage, mawwage is wat bwings us together today." (sp) - The stuttering priest 5) "My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." - Inigo Montoya 6) "Anybody want a peanut?" - Fezzik 7) "It's not my fault being the biggest and the strongest. I don't even exercise." - Fezzik 8) "Have fun stormin' the castle!" - Miracle Max So now I need to come up with Monty Python quotes... 1) What are you going to do? Bleed on me? 2) I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries! 3) Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?! 4) Help, help! I'm being repressed! 5) I am your King. Well, I didn't vote for you! 6) We are the knights who say "Ni!" 7) She turned me into a newt...Well I got better! 8) First shalt thou take out the holy pin. Then shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. 9) Bring out your dead! 10) On second thought, let's not go to Camelot. It's a silly place. Name all 7 books in the Chronicles of Narnia.

When you say international, do you mean not in the US or can they count as well, since they're international to non-US folks? Or do you mean that we can only use the code for airports that have international destinations? [Edit] Ok, for good measure I'll do my list anyway, mostly of airports I've flown to or through: ACC: Accra PNH: Phnom Penh FRA: Frankfurt LHR: London CDG: Paris LLW: Lilongwe CGK: Jakarta NRT: Tokyo SVO: Moscow HAN: Hanoi JNB: Johannesburg TPE: Taipei MAA: Chennai SJO: San Jose, Costa Rica AMM: Amman IAD: DC SFO: San Francisco What 7 countries are the most populous? Bonus points if you get the correct order.

Then someone needs to get to inventing a Spanreed...oh wait, someone already has because the POTUS has an Autopen! Brandon should just ask to borrow this thing. How cool would that be?
-
It was meant as a joke, gjustice! I hope I didn't offend you. I was playing along with Lindel's, because I'm better at naming ships than I am relationships!
-
Oh, don't forget 11. The Bebop 12. Tie Fighter 13. The Deathstar 14. Mayflower 15. Titanic 16. Battlestar Galactica 17. Apollo 11 18. X-Wing 19. Slave I 20. Dusk's Catamaran Oh, these still aren't the right ships that gjustice wants? She really wants us to write the names of 40 people?! Geeze...I like your ships better Lindel.

1) The North Star 2) One of the stars associated with Australia, in the southern cross? 3) Some other bright star... Because I know that this isn't correct, for your entertainment pleasure, a simple picture of a grizzly (aww, look how cute it is!): Because I too love geography questions: name the two countries in the world that are doubly landlocked, i.e. the two landlocked countries completely surrounded by other landlocked countries.

I think it's worth nothing that both the nurse in Warbreaker and Felt are not confirmed Worldhoppers. We know the Terriswoman exists but we have no definitive evidence or WoB to determine who the woman is, other than the speculative following: Same goes for Felt. Could've been a fluke/accident that there are two people named Felt...but I don't agree with this because how frequently does Brandon do anything that is just a coincidence? If the OP is looking for a definitive list, then we can't really include the nurse and Felt as real identities for Worldhoppers. Also, OP, we know Mraize and Iyatil are both Worldhoppers from this WoB: [Edited b/c the quote tool that Moogle created (Moogle, thanks for the awesome tool, by the way!) puts the end quote after just the title]

Thanks Blaze. I read an article on Frobes about why airlines cancel flights 12 to 24 hours ahead of any storm beginning. It is in full anticipation of the fact that a big storm will happen and that routes in the winter become unprofitable if there are delays and costs associated with working at various airports. They'd rather keep the planes at their home airports/hubs then have them stranded elsewhere. So, unfortunately, they thought that Philily would get a foot of snow, and the reality is that it was significantly less than forecast. When all is said an done, I'd rather the airlines err on the side of caution then keep people stranded in airports for up to days on end. I'm just upset that I missed out on my first Brandon signing.
-
The worst part of this cancellation is that the storm under delivered and Philly didn't get very much snow at all. Grrrrr. I guess it's better be safe than sorry.
-
I was planning on going to the Philly signing tomorrow but it's since been snowed out. I was hoping to get a steelhunt card then. Does anybody know of any other way to get cards now that I won't be able to go to a Firefight signing?

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Titan Arum replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When you get THREE random people to put Sanderson's books on their must-read list when you're talking on a DC weather forum about how sad and upset you are that you didn't get any snow from the Blizzard of 2015, but Philly will get a foot of snow which ultimately means 1) Brandon had to cancel the signing event (the first one I had ever planned to go to...and dressed as Vasher with Nightblood to boot!), and thus 2) I won't get to drive up and see the foot of snow on the ground, like a true Snow Bro would want to do! Once people asked me who the author and what the book was, I decided to tell the virtues of Brandon and his work. So the moral of the story is, sell how awesome Brandon's books are at every turn of life! [Edited b/c apparently typing "b )" is an emoji with sunglasses...] -
You're right. Sad. I guess I'll have to cancel my rental car now.

I tweeted Peter and Brandon to see if there's a contingency plan if the Philly signing gets cancelled. I even said (selfishly, of course) that he could come to DC instead. Alas, there is no back up plan. If the snow cancels it, we aren't likely to get a signing...

According to the same Coppermind page you reference...that's just speculation. However, it does make some sense. But without context, it does seem like Adonalsium. Granted, I assume the highest reputation level will be "Adonalsium"...assuming Kobold can reach infinity.

Nightblood will indeed be along for the ride...assuming I can make it. According to philly.com: Up to a foot of snow could be falling on the city.
-
I'll bring my phone and charger too, just in case. Also, beware everyone, there could be quite a bit of snow on the ground. I hope it isn't too bad and the roads get cleared so I can drive up from DC! Ohh, and you'll be able to identify me since I'll dress up like Vasher!

When your colleagues ask you why you haven't gotten a haircut for months or trimmed your beard in weeks, and you reply "So that I can have a realistic Vasher costume at a book signing." (And we then proceeded to talk about Brandon's books for about 20 minutes after they asked what a Vasher was.) -
I feel like the dangerous part to one vote for each dollar spent makes Oudes' first fear even stronger if we are voting for two dice. If people want to strategically pick the two to finish sets (like Electrum/Lerasium), most will probably then split their votes evenly between the two they want. However, if there is a strong minority who just want to see Malatium, just so they can say it's the 11th metal, and then don't care what the second die is, they'll put 100% of their votes to Malatium. Then this would skew/bias the vote and potentially make Malatium one of the two dice selected. However, If we only have one die to vote for though, it won't matter because most of us will put 100% of our votes to one metal.

Cheese United, I am sorry for missing your accomplishment yesterday! Congrats on being a Zucchini-born! I didn't even know it was possible. Welcome to the 17th Shard, and what you've accomplished on your first day, as Kobold mentioned, is phenomenal. Well done, sir. Well done.

I agree that it seems something else is going on with Kaladin's fighting skills. When Syl leaves him temporarily, Kaladin's fighting has noticeably gone down hill. He tries to go through those crazy "practice" motions that Bridge 4 thought was incredible the first time he showed them in the chasm, and can't do it at all. If I recall correctly, he either loses his balance or drops his spear because he can't hold onto it while it's twirling about. This seems to me that the Nahel bond should be part of the reason that he's such a good fighter. Maybe there was some misunderstanding between the questioner and Brandon?
