  1. 'The End' by The Jezabels.
  2. I recommend: -The Alchemist (series) by Michael Scott -House of Secrets by Chris Columbus -Loki's Wolves by Kelley Armstrong -The Secret Series by Pseudonymous Bosch Hope you find this helpful.
  3. I read the books before watching the movie, but I have to say it did a better job on screen than in writing. I don't think The Hunger Games is as good, though. There's just something about the atmosphere of their innocent trouble-making that makes me enjoy it more. I do like other series and books better than it though.
  4. Drawing chalk duels on the driveway is my ideal afternoon.

  5. I am definitely a TFIOS fan. I haven't read The Book Thief but I really, really want to and I have a feeling I'll be a fan of it too.
  6. I read the book about a month before the movie came out. I'm still hoping to see it. For me it was one of the most touching and heartbreaking stories I've ever read. Since then I've read another of John Green's books and developed a liking for him as a writer. Eskridge
  7. I'm not sure why, but I've taken a liking to indie music, so I recommend any of the songs by Vampire Weekend. Different, but admittedly catchy. Eskridge
  8. Currently I'm reading The Alchemyst by Michael Scott. It looks really good. Eskridge
  9. I agree. Sometimes if it's a book you love a lot and you want to remember reading it, you'll keep it. It'll do a lot more good if it's spread to the hands of other people, though. Books sitting around on a dusty bookshelf will only take up space when they could be in the hands of a passionate bookworm who is loving them. Eskridge
  10. I don't think magic is necessary in a good fantasy book. In fact, I think it would allow a fresh perspective and lots of room to come up with a creative idea. Fantasy generally does have magic in it, but that doesn't define what it is. Go for it and see how it turns out! Eskridge
  11. I am constantly reading. When I was younger, all the realistic fiction and non-fiction books never really did it for me. I started reading Harry Potter when I was really young, and it changed my life. I ventured into the world of fantasy at a young age and since then I have been addicted. Fantasy is the one way to escape from the world you live in - whether you're happy in it or not. Whenever I feel like I need to escape what's really happening or just relax, it's the most amazing experience to witness things you know would never happen but feel so real. Fantasy Rocks! Eskridge
  12. Hello, I am Eskridge. I have read only one of Brandon Sanderson's novels: The Rithmatist, but he is such a good writer I look forward to reading many more of his books. I am a total bookworm, and if you take me to a bookstore you'd better be ready to carry an enormous pile of novels! My username is named after one of the defences in The Rithmatist called the Eskridge Defence. It is one of my favourites because it is ideal for a good balance of attack and defence especially against the Ballantain. I am so happy to have joined 17th Shard and I can't wait to get involved in the forums. Hope to see you soon, Eskridge
