  1. Hurm. Page 100. Do I begin the new thread now, or encourage others to discuss Slaughterhouse's Hall of Faces for a few more posts?
  2. So we wouldn't even get anything about the outcome of a Fortuity vs. Vin and Adolin fight? Laaaaaaame.
  3. Or, or, or! We could pretend Reckoners is Cosmere so Sharders who go to signings will actually ask questions about it!
  4. Oh! Drug-fueled!Impact should team up with TooMuchOxy so she won't starve!
  5. There's self-healers like Prof who can gift their powers, and there's the chance that other healers might be able to actually heal, but also mutate the body's cells to give someone horrible cancer.
  6. Go ahead. My post would just be the Financier weeping. Blackhoof, I thought Epics couldn't heal each other?
  7. Although, I must point out that it is a travesty, you leaving Obliteration off the list like you did. The hottest* Epic of them all, not even getting an honorable mention. For shame. *Sorry not sorry for the terrible pun.
  8. A good old-fashioned gag, then? Mortal terror at realizing he's stuck at the DMV with Nighthound?
  9. Boooooo! Looks like we'll just need a different plan, then. Maybe some version of the game See Who Can Be Quiet the Longest?
  10. Mulan II sucked. But if it had followed Mulan's grandmother as she signed up for the next war, it would have been one of the finest movies in cinema history.

Never seen it. I try to avoid sequels, direct-to-dvds, and direct-to-dvd sequels.

    2. Kobold King

      Kobold King

Imagine a chain of Mulan movies, shifting focus from one generation to the next each time, showing China from its ancient history all the way up to modern times. Eventually, the modern Chinese girl would be given the chance to see all the protagonists of the previous films, including Mulan herself, as her ancestors watching over her.

^That would be incredible. Especially if the one about Mulan's grandmother signing up for the next war ended with her coming home with *drumroll please* the Emperor! :P

  11. He'd just resort to different methods of hitting on women.
  12. I agree that David was a special case, but I'd disagree that it was strictly the normality of his fear that made it easier to refuse. It was because he'd faced it beforehand that he was able to refuse; I'd argue that had another person with "normal" fears been made the same offer without facing their fear, they wouldn't have been able to refuse. Furthermore, there was trauma involved with David's fear (Obliteration trying to drown him). Is it different from the development of some other Epic fears we've seen so far? Yes, and I'd definitely agree that Calamity had to work with what he had. But I think there was sufficient trauma involved with the water fear for Calamity to grant Regalia's request. It was just caused by an Epic, rather than coming into being independent of Calamity like most other Epic fears we've seen so far.
  13. Only tangentially related to that, here's what I have for my ballet-dancing rebellion leader so far: He's tall, dark-skinned, and muscular from the training he's put himself through. He left Newcago partly because of the tyranny, and partly because ballet didn't get as much respect as other art forms. He chose Corvallis because he had heard many of the Queens enjoyed ballet and the company there desperately needed a male dancer. He has done ballet since high school. Other guys his age teased him for it, but he learned to brush it off. Nowadays, if you try to give him grief, he'll listen politely and point out that he could lift you over his head and toss you into a dumpster without breaking a sweat. (Not that he would, of course. Not in Corvallis.) He sees it as an underappreciated art form, and he takes it seriously. Part of his objection to Euphoria's employment is the fact that she essentially drugs some of the other dancers, and many in the audience, leaving them unable to truly appreciate a program for what it is. Thoughts? Concerns?
  14. Would it be karmic enough if he tried to hit on Taylor Swift? We'd at least get a new song out of it.
  15. At 70% progress in WoK….. Great Noodly One, Roshone sucks. We learn that there is more to Kaladin's story than we were first led to believe. Jasnah is quite the multifaceted character. Poor Shallan. Back to reading now.
  16. This has to be the only assassination attempt in fictional history involving overdue bills. And the only one with a chance of success. Though I always pay on time, so the Reckoners will need to think of something else.
  17. I'm in the same boat. From the current debate, though, I'm leaning against forcefield contraction.
  18. Here's mine:
  19. A good bridgeman never forgets his shield? A good Epic never kills random bystanders just 'cause? A good Hallandren Returned never takes other peoples' Breath? A good Mistborn never eats metal? A good Steel Inquisitor never rams bits of metal into other peoples' eyes?
