  1. Thanks for the info on R.A. Salvatore I haven't read any of the new Malazan stuff yet. As much as I enjoyed the series, after 10 books I needed a bit of a break lol
  2. Malazan Book of the Fallen is a great series. I didnt think the 1st book was all that great, but it gets much better after that. What is everyones opinion on RA Salvatore's series?
  3. Agreed. But the scene of her returning and Rand falling to his knees was as good a scene as there is in the series.
  4. Rand was indeed asking for it. The problem between the two goes in circles , IMO. The Aes Sedai think so highly of themselves, that everything concerning the Dragon Reborn must be controlled and handled by them. There are very few Aes Sedai like Moiraine. Rand cant send them away, because as angry and resentful of them as he is, he knows he needs them. Better to keep them close and on a leash ( them swearing oaths to him) then to have to worry about them behind his back. Fires of Heaven is one of my very favorite books. The scene where Lanfear rips the darkfriends skin off, throws it towards Rand and company, and then inflates it in mid air was epic imo. It is also a book that really starts what is one of my favorite relationships in the books : Nynaeve and Rand. Without any spoilers, she is one of the few that doesnt see Rand as the Dragon Reborn and someone to be used, but as Rand and cares about him deeply. She is someone he can trust completely
  5. Like Topomouse said, this book had the best ending climax of the series. I got to the point where the Tower Aes Sedai kidnapped Rand and I was FURIOUS. It was about 12 AM on a work night and I was just gonna go to bed, but I couldnt leave on that note. I was so anxious and mad, and I thought for certain that Jordan was gonna drag it out into the next book. I ended up staying up close to 2AM that night finishing the book. Such a great climax and feeling of satisfaction reading that ending. "Kneel and swear to the Lord Dragon, or you will be knelt." . Man! That was so satisfying to see Rand break out of the shield and just start going ham, and the Asha'man destroying everything!!
  6. If I am not mistaken, in the earlier books when Rand, mat , and perrin are battling Ishamael in their dreams..he claims that there were times during the Wheels turning where the Dragon had failed and had turned to the Shadow.
  7. I have not, but I think it is next on my list.
  8. I second that. Just finished book 14 after starting book 1 a little over a year ago. Thats why I am reading this topic. Looking for something to fill the serious void that finishing WoT left.
  9. Its amazing. I envy you. Having just finished book 14 yesterday, I can remember the excitement and anticipation as I read through the series. Believe me, it so most definitely worth the journey!
  10. Just finished the last book literally minutes ago. Took me slightly over 1 year to read through them all. Such a great series..and now I dont know what I am going to do with my life.
  11. What about being a Skybreaker means Szeth will be going around taking out Radiants? What have I missed?
  12. im glad I'm not the only one. While it didnt bring a tear to my eye, that same feeling of emotion welled up inside that brings tears.
  13. Sorry for the necro, but read all 6 pages and no one mentioned by 2 favorite moments. The first was when they came to Dalinar to say he had come out of the chasms. Dalinar asked "Who?" and they responded "Stormblessed". The chapter ends and the next one begins with "Dalinar ran the entire way" . To me, Sanderson conveyed such emotion with those few lines.I had goosebumps all over reading that. Thats one of the few (if any) times you see that kind of emotion from Dalinar , and brought out such emotion from me. Incredibly well written. The second was Shallan giving Kal her shardblade to use against the chasmfiend. I had forgotten all about her blade, and again...just another very well written and thought out scene.
  14. Thanks Peter. Thats what I was wondering
  15. I'm not one to spend money on art ( I have almost 0 pictures hanging on my wall), but I am seriously considering buying the 3 pictures that Michael Whelan has for sale on his website. At $195 for all 3, it is kinda steep...so I wanted to check and see if anyone else has bought them and what they think? http://www.michaelwhelan.com/shop/reproductions/all-reproductions/stormlight-set-3/
  16. I just came across something and I'm not sure Ive read anyone else talk about this. Nale used Regrowth on Szeth to bring him back to life. DIdnt Mr T say that one of the HB's that was taken from Shinovar was a Regrowth HB?
  17. I agree . Mr T knew what Kal was, just didnt want szeth to know. If we remember when Moash and Graves were going to kill Kal and Elohkar, Graves says I think it is still possible that Mr T was telling the truth about the the Honorblade being missing, but still knew what Kal was and didnt want Szeth confronting him( even though he knew he didnt have the blade)
  18. Thanks, that picture was what I was looking for. If Taravangian is telling the truth, then that means there are 2 HB's missing
  19. First off, I would just like to say hi to everyone. I have been reading these forums since I first read WoK over a year ago. After just finishing WoR yesterday, I have spent at least 3 hours here reading over various things. That said, I have read in several places that it is commonly accepted that one of the Heralds went back for their honoblade. Is that something that is found in one of the books, or is it something Brandseron has said? I went back and read the WoB and couldnt find anything on it. So we have 7 Honorblades in Shinovar , 1 now with Kal , and 1 with Taln ( whether he is the madman or not)..which leaves 1 unaccounted for. Supposedly this is the one the Herald went back for?
  20. I have heard this mentioned several times. Where do we read/find out that one Herald went back for his blade other than Taln?
