I ask this question with only reading the the two Stormlight, Elantris and first Mistborn I'm about halfway through warbreaker now. But could oayhgates be a way for people to jump from planet to planet within the cosmere.

What do you think of the idea of WOK being 3-4 movies and they get actors to do motion capture CGI. They could build a lot of the sets for inside the war camps and then do practical sets mixed with CGI for the shattered Plains. By the time that they get to Stormlight if what Brandon says it's true they're doing Mistborn first the technology will be even better than it is today did you see what Robert Downey jr. Look like in the beginning of Captain America Civil War with tbe deaging CGI is amazing. And then the motion-capture work they've done in the Planet of the Apes movies are amazing imagine 5 to 10 years from now which probably a stretch but how better the technology will be for motion caption Parshendi. Even though the Warcraft movie story wasn't the greatest the CGI for the Orcs were fantastic if you take this technology and apply it to actor is playing Parshendi in warform and Stormform it could be quite amazing looking.

I loved the Song Of Ice And Fire series reread the books twice and then listen to them on tape while I was driving home from the police academy every Friday which was a three-hour Drive. But that was 10 years ago so I don't remember how many books are out at the time. But once the show actually started on HBO it kind of ruined it for me I may just be in the minority on that. It just changed so much from what my mind I thought when I read the books and what I saw on the actual screen. But for the opposite I watch Lord of the Rings before I ever read any of the books and that helped me tenfod in getting into the books. I just love what Brandon has done with The Stormlight Archive and his other books I get extremely nervous thinking what it will look like on screen I can't even imagine how big the budget would be to truly capture what the books are. I am optimistic though because I don't think Brandon would sign this deal unless he believed they could do what is right and true to the books if that make sense. I think if they are going to try to adapt The Stormlight Archives into a movie and be as faithful as possible this movie it's going to have to be a hybrid of motion capture CGI to a degree that we've never seen before. I know that the Jungle Book movie is like 95% CGI. But I think both The Stormlight will have to be is a huge amount of CGI slash motion-capture in huge set pieces like they did in Warcraft. I'm doing voice to text and kind of rambling on so I hope this makes sense but the whole world of Stormlight Archives is Italian world compared to what we have I don't really think this anywhere that they can go on location in film most of the scenes without severely altering it post-production. I guess what I'm trying to say is The Stormlight movies will be a huge emphasized huge undertaking and the budget will be massive.

See Game of Thrones did the opposite from me and I stopped reading A Song of Ice and Fire. Is this may sound pretty stupid but I just totally disagreed with almost all the actors they have playing that character is that it ruined the book for me. I probably will someday finish the series Once George RR Martin actually finishes it but the idea of the TV show surpassing the books is not interesting to me at all so I stopped watching the show a while ago and won't read the books until the whole things done now.

Like I have said in the past I truly believe that Brandon Sanderson is a legit cool and is all about the fans because he was such a huge fan of The Wheel of Time growing up he understands our thought process when it comes to adapting beloved books into movies. Can someone show me where Sanderson says that Mistborn will be first before Stormlight because that will ease my worries. Next to The Wheel of Time, Stormlight has become my favorite fantasy novel probably my favorite series of anything I've ever read even though there's only two books out so far.

I'll admit I'm not in up to date with Middle-earth and talking as I used to be but I thought most of the add material to The Hobbit movies were from the appendices of The Lord of the Rings book

A singal SA movie would have to be 3 or 4 hours long. And I still dont rhink you could fit the hole book into that. I mean WOK is over 1000 pages. Look what happened to the Hobbit it was turned into 3 movies and look how small that book is. I think it would be a interesting idea if they made multiple movies and thwn had them criss over. For example back in the day on the WB when it was Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel you're both in the same universe would have crossed over this. Or nowadays on what Chicago Fire and Chicago PD they have crossover events. The first 2 WOK movies could be one of them about 1st Jasnah and Shallan. And the 2nd Kaladin, Dalinar and the Warcamps. Doing it that way would be crazy money probably Even if they did what Peter Jackson did and film three movies back to back to back like Lord of the Rings. But I realy do think that Brandon Sanderson is a true fan of epic fantasy he grew up reading The Wheel of Time and he must of had the same fears that most of us are having when it comes to beloved books. So I do think he would only do this deal If he thought it was good for both him his books and the fans.

The amazingly great news that Brandon Sanderson has sold the movie rights to all his comsmar book is so exciting. But the news that they are starting off with the Stormlight Archive book first raises grave concerns for me I really thought they would have done Mistborn first. Could be a cool urban fantasy trilogy. But the fact that they are doing SA first makes me get extremely nervous for many reasons. First things first there's only two books out so far. I don't want what happened to the Game of Thrones/ A Song of Ice and Fire happened to us finding out what happens before the book comes out because the TV series has surpassed the books I know Sanderson is a machine when it comes to putting out books but it still gets me worried . Eeach book being well over a thousand pages gives me hope that mabe the first 2 book could be broken up into serval movies. I know it takes probley about a year to year and half to write a script. So by the time they are done with the script of movie #1 book 3 will be out. But then going back to what I said previously if they take the first book in split up into two or three movies and the same with book 2 at this time we are 6 movies in and that's just two books how are we going to be able to get actors to play a single character for that long and not have them age? If they do this and they keep the same actors by the time the whole series is done we're looking at how many movies and how old will the actors be ? Probley to old to be playing thier respected characters. Don't get me wrong I would love to see 20 SA movies if they are done right but. The way they could over come this issue would CGI and motion captured like the Lord of the Rings did with Gollum. Higher Andy Serkis and I believe Toby Kebbell and then get whatever other actors that you would want to use and just have them all do CGI/motion-capture. People that may be skeptical on using this technology just look at the Jungle Book 95 version of that movie was all CGI. I'm not saying that they have to do all CGI they could do what War Craft did and build huge magnificent sets and then a lot of CGI as well. The more I read about this the more I think it actually could work but it still makes me very concerned that they doing Stormlight first.

Happy you love it. The guy that did it is cool as hell. I am going to try and have hime do all if the main characters and then I really want him to do Rock and so e guys from bridge 4. But it takes a while bc I have to save up the extra cash. I would also love to have him do war and storm form of the Parshendi beacuse there in next to no Parshindie art out there.

This is why I love reading your responses. The answers are always so in depth. With all this information it does sound like book 3 will a monster.

He says Moash will not only have a big role, but several viewpoints. This rules out the occasional POV character and the only spot we basically had no one to cast for was the Part 2 novella character. I could be wrong, but the wording make me think he might be. The only thing currently bothering me with the current planning is Navani... She seems to be a character Brandon always extrapolate on her importance: she has been nothing more than an occasional POV character... So huh where does she stand? Same role? Because right now, there is one character too many for the 4 tertiary character spots. I dunno which one does not fit... Interlude novella should probably be Rysn. With you saying there's going to be 4 character novelas how large is this book actually going to be the paperback of WOR is over 1300 pages and there were just interludes. Now that you are saying there will be 4 novelas how pages do they have. I would love a 2000 pg book hahah even though I dont believe that is possible.

Yea Syl is one of my favorite characters and really wanted her to be shown well in the peace. I Have also thought about having the artist do a Syl peace wirh her in all the different things she has been. I like the idea of Amanda Seinfield as her.

I will have Adolin in his military uniform. I love uniforms. Andd then him in full shardplate with him tlaking to his shardblade. Remember I am not thw artist I just pay the artis to do the characters. Adolin will be in both full uniform and also in full shardplate. Shallan will be in a I think a green dress with patyern on the dress. But I want him to stand out on the dress so I may ask the artist to do pattern as if he is glowing on the dress, red heads look so good in green (well at least my wife who is a redhead looks amazing in green) I also whould like to have one of Shallan glowing whem using stormlight holding pattern as a shardblade. But I realy dont knkw what Pattern as a shrdblade should look like. Let me know what you think the shardblade should look like.
