  1. To clarify, I am not saying that the Hoid we see in the published books is a vessel of Adonalsium. My thought is that the current Hoid's master, the ones who name Hoid says he stole, was in fact the vessel of Adonalsium. Hoid could have rejected the 16's plan in favor of helping his master. I say all of this without having read any of the Liar of Partinel.
  2. So we know that Hoid took the name after his master, the original Hoid, died. Now, from Khriss, we think that Adonalsium was likely a being, and that Hoid (or Cephandrius, at the time) was at the Shattering. I also think that Cephandrius had some sort of relationship with Adonalsium. What if the original Hoid was Adonalsium's vessel? It gives reason for Cephandrius to be at the Shattering without being directly involved in shattering it/him/her. It also has big implications into what he could be doing with his meddling with the shardworlds.
  3. I'm not sure whether it would make a difference in the Cognitive realm, but it is unlikely that Nazh's stool was made in Scadrial, so its metal may not be invested Allomantically like Kel needs.
  4. Did anyone else wonder how far the medallions that the South scradialians(?) could go in effecting other magic systems? The translating metalminds interested me the most. Allik specifically mentioned that the translating medallions cause a person's connection to change to the physical place they are, I could only think of Sel's different magics. Is it possible that anyone could become an Elantrian by visiting Arelon and wearing one of the medallions until the Shaod changes them? Could anyone learn any of the geographically based magics on Sel? I could be missing something big realmatically here, so please discuss.
  5. I see the Truthwatcher oath as being something to the effect of: "I will be a light to those lost in darkness."
  6. It occurs to me that a Feruchemist that can store luck (I can't remember the name, I am a disgrace to the clan...) could tap loads of luck to shoot the bullet in just the right place if he knew what he was doing.

  8. The epilogue of WoR is the day before the Everstorm will hit the continent.
  9. I would go team up with Jasnah. She should be able to appreciate the importance of Cosmere knowledge, and she seems to be one of the most capable characters at the moment. Teaming up with her seems to be the safest idea, while still making a difference on Roshar.
  10. I will put others needs before my own.
  11. I was rereading the Mistborn series, and got to the Battle of Luthadel in WoA. When Vin arrives at the battle, I saw a passage that made me stop and think for a while. (I don't have the paper version with me, so the Kindle location will have to do...) She would defend those who could not defend themselves. I think that this seems suspiciously close to something our favorite bridgeboy said during Way of Kings. Any thoughts? Is Sanderson pulling some big trick on us with all of the ideals? I don't really think so, but it is an interesting coincidence.
  12. I had an idea, and a quick search didn't pop up any results. Since the magics of the Cosmere can kind of be crossed, it seems to me that an Oracle (a gold misting) born in MaiPon would have a lot more power than most Forgers. Shai tells us that an Essence Mark takes about two years to make. However, using gold, you can immediately see what you would be like if you had made different choices. Since this is essentially what Essence Marks do, I think that a person with both Forging and Gold could make Essence Marks in almost an assembly like style. Any ideas on if this would work or not? If it would, you could have a very powerful Forger out there.
  13. You know you're a Sanderfan when you take a hot, steamy shower in the morning and get scared because the mists aren't supposed to be able to come inside.
  14. You know you're a Sanderfan when you get a huge adrenaline rush/really nervous when you post a theory on the forums.
  15. I doubt my idea is right, but I've always hoped that the diagram may indeed save the world, just not the way Mr. T suspects. He is always talking about uniting the world to save it, so he thinks that by following the Diagram, he will be able to unite the world. I think that in his day of brilliance, he realized that there was only one way to unite the world. He had to unite it against himself. Since that day, he has not been intelligent enough to realize that the Diagram actually means his doom, while uniting the world, as he wished.
  16. This is my first theory, so we'll see how this goes... Words of Radiance spoilers ahead This idea actually doesn't seem like much of a stretch. I think that Moash will become a Dustbringer. We found out in WoR that his childhood (plus being a bridgeman) broke him enough to prime him for a Nahel Bond. Also, his plan to assassinate Elhokhar because of what he did screams of a Dustbringer. Moash still seems to be able to wield his shardblade, (I don't remember any mention of screaming in Kal's fight with him) but I will be interested to see if he stops wielding the shardblade in the next book.
  17. Wait, these are not Sanderson related?
  18. First time topic creator, lets see how this goes... I know that there is already a topic about who will become Honor's champion, but this is for a slightly different question. Does Honor even get a champion? Preservation chose a champion, but I don't think Honor is able since he has been splintered. Do we have any WoB that there will be a champion of Honor? Also, is there any chance that the characters will bring Cultivation back into the fight? If so, who will his/her champion be?
  19. Give it to Ketek. He was first, I just misunderstood what he said. Sorry!
  20. I'd be interested in getting it. What do you need to be able to send it to me?
  21. Each order can control two surges. They share each of their surges with one other order, so not every combination of surges is seen.
  22. I've gotten two friends to read it, plus put it on a third's list, once he's done with The Wheel of Time, which I also forced convinced him to read.
  23. Do we know if Honor actually has a shardpool since it's been splintered? The only other splintered shardpool we've seen is Devotion's, and we have WoB that it's "not what you think it is".
  24. Also, remember that it isn't the words in an oath that matter. They just have to mean a certain intent. Other words that expressed the same thing would have worked. It could just be the wording that is giving you a problem.
  25. (Slight WoR spoilers) I have to agree that the first ideal is actually just the motto of the KR. When Kaladin is at Honor Chasm, he is ready to throw himself off the edge. This is definitely not life before death, but Syl seems to be just fine with it. Yet when Kal just considers the idea of breaking his oaths, Syl begins to fade.
