How are you finding the info dumps anyway? At book 4 point they aren’t nearly as tedious as the later books. It got to the point where I considered just skipping any chapter with a certain location title but I never did just incase some huge piece of info was discussed. When Safehold was moving though it was REALLY moving along imo and there is some legit “OH RUST!” moments in every book.

He does outstanding battles particularly naval. The story is quite simple and extremely predictable and full of fist pump moments and yes it has the ability to draw you in. Will totally be my only Weber. I just can’t suffer through another stories 20+ pgs massive info dumps/tech explanations multiple times in any given book(you ve got more to go). Take heart though cause bk 4&5 gets into some juicy stuff. Really hoping he got an editor who will tell him to cut out lots of that Deltak tech lectures **** for any remaining books.

Solo is a good movie that shouldn’t have been made yet. I enjoyed it with my son at theater but I have yet to buy it and not sure I even will which will be a 1st for me. it should be watched though once.

Ok finished up BE3. Bigggg reco. Will definitely be reading more Nemisin. Now I absolutely must finish SW before I pick up another rusting book.

Still reading BE3 but unfortunately it has been going at typical BK speed unlike 1&2. My son got sick so he stayed over here the day after I started it so I couldn’t keep up that pace. So Im no longer reading it for bragging rites. So good though. Got about 150 pgs left.

It’s about that time if the formula remains the same to get our 1st teaser trailer. Hopefully it remains the same. I’m still not really super excited that JJ got the Trevoro replacement spot but it’s still going to be Star Wars which I am excited about. Hopefully we don’t get ROTJ 2.0 like he did for 7 which I will always consider ANH 2.0. Rumors will fly of course but spoilers have to be tagged or I ll become a very grumpy BK. Anyway we are now less then a year away!

Finished Broken Earth 2 and started 3.

Oh and bk2 so far more then halfway in has been even better just let ya know. It’s really getting into the meat of this rich world she has setup and is plowing straight through. No middle book syndrome in this middle book! Also I wouldn’t have even started BE1 had my friend on Malazan not got halfway through it the day before I started and stopped due to the 2nd person and the bleakness of the story sparking about a page of debate on the epicness most of the others found it. So I had to start and I’m glad I did. he was audiobook though and I told him if he tried again maybe deadtree would help. Not sure how well this 2nd person stuff would come out in audio vs reading it yourself? I’m averaging about 140 pgs a day which should be a tell on how much I’m liking it cause typically am a snail these days. 35-60 pgs would be a massive progress day for me normally so to do 140-160 5 days in a row is spinning my head, of course my dvr is piling up and Destiny 2 is going unplayed to pull this off though.

Finished Broken Earth 1’s remaining 135 pgs. This book was utterly ******* stellar! STELLAR! It was such a breath of fresh air to go through. A mashup of Dune, Star Wars(kind of), Mistborn, geomancers of Final Fantasy, with the uniqueness of Grace of Kings, the sexy time of Richard Morgan’s Kovacs(though less descriptive), and the prose and floweriness of GGK in his most excellent book that is titled TIGANA!**** me side ways what a read! sorry I know that’s not really what you asked me but I don’t want to directly influence your take on any story specifics(other then that it’s great) should note I did TIGANA like that to mess with fellow Malazan members that don’t like that book a single bit. We give each other friendly grief on the different sides we find it.

Tell ya what I’ve hit the mid 40’s and I’m utterly compelled with this exp. it is some kind of brutal though esp just coming off the often brutal elements an Outlander bk can bring. this is going to be special I feel.

Impossible to say ha. Will definitely be buying it right away. Hopefully I can keep myself to only 2 books at once but I have done 3 in the past. Definitely won’t be doing Outlander 5 anytime soon. That’s gonna wait till show time and a recharge of battery. That thing is 1400 pgs..

I’m only 6 pgs in but it’s a super interesting reading style. Reminds me a bit of Grace of Kings in that it just reads different then your standard bk sort of way.

I finished a long time ago yeah. It’s a super fun though often frustrating grind in middle bks. To much info in long 20+ pg info dumps but when the story is moving it’s moving. That said I have vowed to never read any other Weber series barring this one if it ever went past bk 9. I’ve heard to many horror stories and I never want to experience the same kind of grind I went through with the worst of Safehold. I’m to invested in Safehold to call it quits after over a yr spent read 1-9.

Started Broken Earth 1 today.

So I finished up Outlander 4 earlier this week(fantastic btw) andvowed that I would finish up SW in a solo and NOT cave in to multi read Broken Earth 1... I succeeded for 3 whole days. I caved today and am now multi reading again lol

Got 160ish pgs left of Outlander 4. So ready to end this not because it’s bad but just because it is so big. Bk 5 is even bigger and then bk 6 even bigger then that. Probably won’t start bk5 till that season gets close to airing next year on Starz. This woman is brutal in her writing. So good.

Rusting dealership... I realize they need to make $ but this is pretty dumb. I went in today to see what kind of bow tie emblems(Chevy) they had or could order for me. I wanted either a pure silver or a two tone black and silver for my new silver truck. They informed me that they don’t carry them in either but they’d be happy to paint it for me for $60 each emblem(2) plus the $60 installation with the purchase of the emblems at $150. I asked “well if y’all have to paint will you just paint the 2 that umm came with my truck for $180?” I got told no I’d have to buy new ones cause the more they are taken off and put back on the more likely they will break. This makes sense sure but should that not be my rusting choice to do? They just want the extra $150 for all new emblems...
