  1. There we go! I'm not sure what there is to do now. There are still two more Eliminators to kill, I guess. @Wyrmhero If all remaining players on the Eliminator team are inactive, would you end the game early, or would we be required to kill the inactives until we found the last 2 Traitors? The answer to this question will let us know whether or not we should be looking for another Traitor among the active or semi-active players. Araris is close to cleared in my mind. He's claimed to kill the House, and nobody has come forward to counterclaim. He was attacked by the Eliminators and survived on N10 - which is a ridiculous place to try a WGG. Finally, he voted on Nyali (he was the second vote on Nyali, and the one that put her in danger of the lynch) when he could have saved her by tying the lynch. Wonko swung the lynch away from Elbereth and to Nyali - a Traitor, so it seems odd that he would do such a thing if he were on Nyali's team. You don't sacrifice your own teammates to gain trust when you have enough numbers to reasonably control the lynch, and a target that the rest of the village is on board with. I reasonably trust Elbereth. But I have nothing to clear her other than Wilson's trust. I know my own alignment, of course, but I'll point out that I advocated Nyali's lynch from the beginning of the cycle. If we were teammates, we could have tied it up at the end, and then killed someone tonight, leaving us controlling the lynch tomorrow. I trust Elb, but she's the one I have least reason to trust atm. Araris, I'd advocate for killing the lurker tonight.
  2. LG29: Night 6 - Death of a Sleeper The mob of worldhoppers struck again, this time on Roshar. Desten Kyde had been missing for ages, and the worldhoppers slowly became obsessed with hunting him down. After all, what else could it possibly mean but that he was working with the Wanderer. Or with Odium. Or somebody unsavory. Anyways, he had to die, and that was all that mattered. They eventually found him in a back alley on Roshar. Wary, the spies waited for more than a week, but he didn’t move. One of them slowly walked into the alley, watching carefully for traps, then checking for illusions. Desten didn’t stir. He crept closer, until he was standing mere feet away from the sleeping form. Desten didn’t stir. The spy coughed loudly, then walked over to him. Desten didn’t stir. He was shaken roughly, and slapped on the face, and still he didn’t stir. Finally, with a grunt of disgust, the spy plunged a dagger into his heart, and Desten never stirred again. Sam Trudite (Sart) has died! His role and alignment will be revealed once he passes to the Spiritual Realm Desten Kyde (Kynedath) was lynched! 3. I don't exactly know when your cruise started, but there were a total of 6 omens found. We've killed 3 - Hael, Arinian, and DA. Araris wants the lurker dead first, though I'd personally rather lynch Nyali. But, until you came on, the only possible lynch targets were El and myself, due to the 2 vote minimum.
  4. Oh, did he? That makes sense - I either didn't notice or forgot about that. In that case, I'll keep my vote on Elbereth. If she shows up and starts talking/voting too, then I'll reconsider.
  5. Fair enough - I'd prefer to lynch Wonko and kill Elbereth at night (because Elbereth feels less suspicious to me) but I'm not too attached to any order. So, at least for the moment - Elbereth What are your thoughts on Nyali?
  6. I am contradicting myself - because I lied about having metal vials. I don't have any - that will be revealed by the lynch, so there's no reason to keep it secret any more. I lied to try and get people participating - to try and jolt them into getting involved because otherwise I would take the decisions out of their hands. It might have been a bad idea - I hadn't intended to, but then I re-read the rules just to make sure, and I saw that I couldn't force a lynch with only my own vote. Since I'd just become a Brass Misting, I figured I'd put the threat of me fully controlling the lynch out in the open to hopefully get people communicating more. It got discussion going - and hopefully in a helpful direction. But even if I did have enough metal vials to change the lynch, I wouldn't. It would lose the village the game. We'd slowly get whittled down, and I'd dominate lynch discussion. And then we'd lose. Not worth it.
  7. First off, do we know that Wilson's role was leaked? Last I knew of it, Wilson's best speculation was that Hael worked it out on his own. She felt that he had enough information to do so, and certainly was capable of connecting the dots. Was there new information I missed? I lost a cycle or two in this game right around the middle. If there was a leak, it's not me. Second - I am claiming to have a vote manipulation role. I acquired a Brass-Lerasium alloy two nights ago and burned it last night. I am now a Brass Misting! (Eliminators, feel free to cower now.) From my perspective, the fact that a vote manip saved Arinian isn't relevant, because I just got the ability last night. (I had also honestly forgotten that Arinian was saved by vote manip...that was one of the cycles I was pretty much gone. I vaguely remember Wilson chewing me out in-thread for not voting that one; I was quite embarrassed that I missed voting that cycle - it turned out to be important.) I realize that you can't verify what I've said, but it's true. Mostly my claim above was meant to scare up the rest of the active players into responding. It managed to actually get you involved, which is something. Finally, though, if it were anyone but me that had the evidence against them that you and Araris bring out, I'd probably jump on the lynch as well. Certainly lynch worthy. But I know my alignment. Honestly, I'd be up for lynching either you or Wonko, you were just the one who jumped to mind more quickly. Probably something to do with the way that you came online, posted promising to be more active, and then disappeared completely again. Sounds rather like saying something to get people's attention off of you and then trying to lurk your way into victory to me. Post-finally, my only real defense is this: if I were really evil, would I be so active in trying to get the village out to vote? That's the last thing the Eliminators want at this stage of the game. A mostly inactive village means that they can do pretty much whatever they like and get away with it. They want things to remain quiet - it's their auto-win button. Since I'm likely to get lynched regardless, I'm going to leave my thoughts on the remaining active, semi-active, or at-least-on-the-Shard players. Araris - almost certainly good. A WGG at this point of the game would be sheer idiocy. Nobody is voting, there's no need to gain trust. Unless something changes, all they need to do is to wait until we all die. Nyali - my top suspicion for being evil. It's mostly gut, but there it is. If Nyali isn't evil, my next bet is Wonko. He's been online recently enough to have put in a kill, and he - like Nyali - has been lurking. Elbereth is the last person who's been even close to reasonably involved. By which I mean that she answered a PM I sent her last night. She said that she trusts Araris and I, and has no idea on anyone else because nobody's been posting! So, no matter what happens to me in this lynch, we need everybody to get their skin back in the game or the Eliminators win by default. Lynch me - I think we still have enough votes to win at that point. I don't think that there's more than one Eliminator still active. If there were, they could already have controlled the lynch and essentially won. They are - as Nyali so helpfully reminded me - on record as possessing a vote manipulation role. I won't use my role to save my skin. I'd just end up getting lynched the next day, and we can't afford the lost time. Odd as it is, maybe my death is the most useful thing I can give to the village. Just in case it isn't, here's my last words: Get active. Get voting. Get involved. Or else I swear that the shade of Sheon Idris will hunt you down and torment you until the day you are lynched or killed by the Eliminators. Because if the village loses this game, it will be entirely your fault. You will have let down the players that were counting on you to keep playing, and you will have let down the GMs that expected a fun and enjoyable game. Sorry if that sounds harsh - but that's the way things are. One long-time player has already left our community because of this issue. I think that deserves some harshness. It ought to be a catalyst for introspection. How many more will it take before we as a community are willing to make a change? Mass inactivity is not fair to the GMs, it's not fair to the village (and I suppose it's not even fair to the Eliminators, even though I'd really like them to stay inactive until the village wins this game). So stop it.
  8. Interesting. I assumed that there might need to be some sort of coordination on order to kill the house - a role mixed with items, or something among those lines. That's why I recommended revealing to a trusted person - because I didn't know that a single player could do it alone. Also, on the charge that I attacked or ordered an attack on you. I did see that you had killed the heart of the house. But I also know that this makes you the most trustworthy player in this game - and whoever was Wilson's protector is still out there. You would be a poor target for me to attack, were I an eliminator. I'm actually surprised they tried. I expected Elb or myself - the leftovers of Wilson's trust group. But we all woke up alive, and if Wilson can be believed, her protector has unlimited ability to protect. Personally, I have no strong suspicions atm. I'm fairly sure you're good. I trust Elbereth, though if it comes down to it, I think I trust you more. If you were evil, you'd have every incentive to slip into the background, avoiding attention altogether. I know I would if I were evil. I'd be putting in the kill order, reading the thread only when not logged in, and otherwise acting outwardly as if I'd given up on this game because of GMing LG29. Nobody would find that suspicious. I go inactive enough that it wouldn't draw attention. But I'm not, because I'm not evil. And for the same reason, I'm fairly sure you're not either.
  9. Ok - obviously there's an active Eliminator. Time to vote them down. There's been hardly any participation recently for me to analyze, and I'm too busy to go back through the whole game atm and try to find suspicions again, so I'm just going to go with my gut and lynch until I find the Eliminator. If you don't think I'm doing it right, then get out of your Colors-cursed, storm-begotten Shardworlds and vote. Nyali. I think you're evil. Prove me wrong, or I'll use my brand-spanking new role abilities to add a vote to you and lynch you. I've stockpiled enough metals to do this for more than a few cycles, so if you're not Nyali, get on and participate or you're next.
  10. LG29: Day 6 - Gold and Glory Sam Trudite trudged along the dreary fields. Many worldhoppers had become frightened - after all, in a conflict of Shards, what could an ordinary mortal do but hope not to be squished? Well, he was there to show them something more, something they could believe in. The man with the eyes of hate seemed to appear out of nowhere. His hands flickered, and a jolt of power flew out, slamming into Sam’s chest. Sam crumpled to the ground in pain, but retained enough awareness to roll out of the way of a second burst of multicolored sparks. One connected, and his breath caught in his throat as he realized what was happening. One of the Sixteen, come to murder me. The power was familiar, terrifyingly potent, and raw hate seeped from it like pus oozing from a week-old wound. Odium. “You are weak, worldhopper. A mite. You meddle in powers you do not understand. Now you see your own powerlessness. Die alone, little maggot!” Watching Sam’s labored breaths slowing, and the blood flecking the corners of his mouth, the man smiled. “Let this be a message! You cannot stop the power of the Lord of Hate!” Then he was gone. A watcher would have noticed that Sam’s breaths slowed, then almost seemed to stop for a moment. A more observant watcher would have seen the signs of deception. The worldhopper was gravely injured, it was true, and even perilously close to death. But he was not slipping into blackness yet. After a time, his breathing grew more stable, and his color returned to normal. His wounds began to close, and he rose to his feet. Now, more than ever, it was important to speak up. Sam Trudite, worldhopper extraordinaire, had a mission to complete before his death, and he would see it through. Elsewhere, Kelen Taldar woke from a dream. The bright colors and vague shadows that so often haunted his nights had disappeared tonight, replaced with a single, clear vision. He knew now why Endowment had chosen him to Return, and he would not disappoint her. Today was the day. The day he showed the world the reason he was alive. Sam Trudite (Sart) was attacked but survived! Kelen Taldar (Sheep) has given up his Divine Breath and passed to the Spiritual Realm. He was a Returned! 11. Actually, @Sart I'm willing to switch the lynch target to Arinian. It would help to verify his information. @A Joe in the Bush what do you think?
  12. I wouldn't call it incompetence at all. I know that I had to go back and reread the rules to make sure it wasn't something that had changed from last time. If anything, it convinces me of your sincerity - you at least honestly believed what you were saying. And that's a good point to start a relationship of trust from. Unfortunately, this is SE, where relationships of trust go to get murdered, drowned in their own blood, resurrected into an unrecognizable Lifeless abomination, and then used to destroy anyone who once relied on them. But still, it's the thought that counts, right?
  13. Actually, we have to keep the Diagrammists alive for a Bondsmith win. We have to have equal numbers of each of the three factions. If we kill the Diagrammists, we lose the Bondsmith win con.
  14. We don't, actually. Why do you think we do? We just have to have equal numbers. At the moment, if indications are accurate, there are 8 Ghostbloods, 5 Sons of Honor, and 4 Diagrammists. The earliest we could win via Bondsmith is at 4 Ghostbloods, 4 Sons of Honor, and 4 Diagrammists.
  15. To Assassin in Burgundy - when the choice is lay down and let the Ghostbloods win (which is what happens if we kill the Diagrammists now) or make an alliance with the Diagrammists which both of us know will eventually be betrayed if we can't make the Bondsmith thing work out. At the moment, we still can win the lynch. If the Bondsmith is killed, or if the win con becomes impractical, then we'll join up with the Ghostbloods to kill Diagrammists. Make no mistake, we'll be playing the two of you off of each other to try and win. But I'm aiming at the Bondsmith win con, because I really don't like betraying alliances. But honestly, I'd rather lose because I misjudged when to break alliance with the Diagrammists then lie down and let the Ghostbloods win.
  16. I can only say what I was told by Conquestor. I wouldn't put it past him to have swapped the roles when he told me. It would make sure I knew who to protect while misleading me if I were evil or misdirecting any PM snoopers
  17. Alright - after shoveling snow for what feels like the whole day, I'm back. I've given this a lot of thought, and my decision is to vote for Sart Conquestor was my Captain, and he chose me to PM last night. He told me that Kipper was his commander - who had also chosen him to PM, and that Lopen was Restares. My entire line of communication is shot. My faction is down 3 important roles. There doesn't seem to be another option, even though I know that allying with the enemy is dangerous - Joe most of all. But from my perspective as a Son of Honor, the Ghostbloods are a greater threat at the moment. I accept your offer of alliance, Joe. I can't do it on behalf of my faction - I doubt my faction can actually communicate effectively enough to come up with a workable plan. Certainly not in the next few cycles. But I can do it on behalf of myself. And I can ask the rest of my faction to join me. We need to even the numbers a little bit. If we can get 3 Ghostbloods down in the next cycle, we are within striking distance of the Bondsmith win con. And that's our best shot at winning right now.
  18. And that was interesting, wasn't it? Not 100% sure what to think about this, but there are 3 dead Sons of Honor and 4 supposed Outed Diagrammists. That's interesting. I'll reserve my vote until I've thought about this more. Gambit or real confession? Desperate ploy or cunning plot? Or all of them combined? Being a member of the smaller faction now, the Bondsmith win con sounds much more interesting (more than the idle curiosity of "Could we do this?" that I felt D1). We just need to kill 4 Ghostbloods while losing only 1 SoH.
