And Backtrack should have had Steelheart's capabilities. That would have been awkward. Um... would it activate if I sealed her in a bunker with no companions, as a wild, completely un-informed guess?
-
Oh, almost forgot to mention! The amazing Newan asked a question off the FUNTIMES list at the San Diego signing! From this answer, it doesn't seem like there's much--if any--pattern to Epic powers themselves, which is comforting to know. (Also, Vin's weakness makes me sad. )

Arsenal thinks they should start handing them out like parking tickets. The Dalles would have the least traffic violations in the union within a week.

Can I use the bars to wallop Deathwish in the face?

Dollars are still considered legal tender in The Dalles, but a lot of barter happens on the streets. The most basic of needs, food, water, and housing, are supplied by the town government in exchange for labor. EDIT: Or, what Voidus said.

Well, we see in Party Pooped that she's surprisingly obsessed with cataloging profiles for everyone she knows, so you're rather like her in that respect...

His opinion on this: Bonus points if he swapped places with a legendary steam engineer.

Diaemus Wiki is now up. It's terribly basic right now, but it'll give us a repository of sorts.

Take a long hard look at your screen name, add a dash of Pinkie Pie, and then you tell me. Darn, I wanted to be Applejack. After all, I actually live on a farm.

I have you pegged as the Rarity of the Reckoners RPG now.

I don't know about him, but I keep imagining her in a flannel shirt for some reason.

And behold, the King of the Kobolds looked out over the web, and heard the voice of Obliteration. His heart was filled with sorrow, for truly Obliteration was the most beloved to his sight; and so he declared in a voice brimming with royal majesty, "Hark--I doth vote for Obliteration, for the hearing of his cries fills my heart with sorrow." And his vote was done.

Here's a thought--how would you fellows feel about a Diaemus wiki to hold all of our lore? The Reckoners RPG has a wiki, and it would be a simple matter for me to set one up for Diaemus. Wikis are, by their very nature, far easier to organize and administrate than linked collection of forum threads. We could discuss the project here, and use the wiki for cataloging information and potentially stories in the future.

...Do protists lay eggs? I've never heard of egg-laying single-celled organisms. I don't like to sound defeatist, but you're right. There's really no way to have a protist invade a cell as small as a lumuole, any more than a mouse could fit inside a grasshopper. Could you perhaps modify the concept so the protist infects animals with lumuole colonies? I'm not much of an expert on pathogenic protists, but I'm pretty sure having the protist invade lumuole cells directly is far less plausible than having it attack a multicellular host.

The dunestriders and charbacks are uber-cool, Lindel. What's the mechanism you have in mind? There's no getting around the relative sizes of the two organisms, but I'm sure we could find a way for the two to interact. (Even if that means letting the protists absorb lumuoles into their cells and use them like organelles.)

If You Read Shadows of Self Backwards... [FULL BOOK SPOILERS]
Kobold King replied to Kobold King's topic in Mistborn
Usually I would thank you for the correction and note that I was thinking of Aradel. Given the backwards, random nature of this thread, however, I will maintain that Aladar/Aradel are actually the same time-travelling worldhopper, and trying to distinguish between them is naught but a pointless semantics game.- 8 replies

Still Having a Bad Day? Exchange Your Rants For Hugs Here!
Kobold King replied to Silverblade5's topic in General Discussion
Or do you simply wish to change the circumstances of your existence? To not exist is to give up all traces of hope. To strive for a better existence, though... no matter how slim, how wispy, how shadowy it may be, there's always hope to be had for the future. Dear Calamity that was sappy. Let me just leave an upvote here and an invitation to elaborate on your problems. -
Listen to the strange dragon-drawing one, Twi. Texas is a magical land that is in no way brimming with too many fire ants, scorpions, and adverse surges of scorching weather to be termed properly habitable.

* gasp * It's the anniversary of Mailliw's birth? Post coming soon, hopefully. I know I said that before recently, but I got sidetracked by The Martian and Shadows of Self. (Both incredimazible reads. )

Short but dangerous creatures that live deep underground? Led by a mysterious (yet surprisingly charismatic and beautiful) monarch? I support this motion. More seriously, I like calling them "howlers." We don't really need a name that starts with K--kandra and koloss share the same naming scheme, but the Steel Inquisitors certainly didn't.

Sure, if Wax says it it's charmingly quaint and simple. If I say it I get sobs and "get this weird dork away from me."
