A sneak peak at Lightwards' next scene: "And then Lightwards died." I'll have to figure out a reaction that doesn't involve him dying from a stroke and/or commanding Wes to start slaughtering everyone.
-
Um, I think so? I didn't expect Sightline to try his hand at igniting civil war. So either TwiLyght goes next to answer his representative query, or I could have Lightwards angrily butt in.

"You fell for one of the classic blunders! The most famous is 'Never get involved in a land war in Oregon', but only slightly less well known is this: 'never go up against a energy-lance Epic when death is on the line!'"
-
Um... it's a characterization exercise? I look forward to it. And by "looking forward to it," I mean "You're a good writer and I want to read what you come up with, but I'm going to hide under my bed listening to soothing music when I do so."

She loves the washer but hates the chore. Sounds like the beginning of a perfectly angsty romance. Also, remember how Murphy's power deflects all forms of negativity? If you shoot at him your gun jams, if you physically assault him you'll trip and fall on your face, if you insult him you'll bite your tongue. This makes Murphy the only Epic in Oregon who's immune to Sam and Revolution's quips.

Mr. Quota? You, sir, are a slontze. Now I feel compelled to write my cast when I'm back on a computer. (Also, is anyone else amazed that our first Funtimes POV scenes come from this thread instead of Oregon?)

Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)

They eat you. I wish for my own banana farm in Belize. -
I don't know. Do you dare? Muahahaha.

You can definitely write in his help. Just make sure he flourishes grandly when he uses his power. EDIT:Or do what you did. What you did was awesome. On another note, SO MANY AWESOME COCOA PUFFS STORIES.

Once again, I find myself in a house full of sleeping people, checking the forum one last time before going to bed... And I nearly wake everyone else up with my laughter upon reading the Funtimes segment. Can we agree here and now that the climax of the RP should include Lightwards and Remington dueling in the middle of Walmart?
-
Who doesn't? Not as satisfying as watching Nighthound suffer, but Lightwards gets his dues a little more often. Voidus, would you like to bring our little crowd of Epics up to the Museum? EDIT: I think he needs to get Lightwards' attention back from the toy soldiers and discuss the schedule for the next EOL-Thoughttown meeting. Is the Empire supposed to send a representative to Altermind? I'd either forgotten or hadn't realized.

Koschei is already a very distinctive character, quite enough for shipping to take place. And apparently Koschei/Möbius is one of the more popular ships. Thanks, people. Long... but awesome, right? Do you have a favorite part?

You receive an evil goldfish, because the Nightwatcher don't play games like that. I wish for instant, unlimited Internet access. -
Sam and Revolution: Lightwards: Möbius
-
Hmm. Thank you for the feedback. I suspected that Sam might be reading as more developed--I sure hoped so, at least, since she is a bit more developed. She has a more fleshed-out backstory and I have a slightly better grasp of her motivations. Maybe I should fill out one of those character sheets I see floating around the Internet sometimes...

Looking back over it, it looks like there's space for a Lightwards reaction to the introductions, and maybe for him to start toying with Toymaker's toys. After that though, I think we need to see what's going on in Sightline's head. Quick question: whose POV segments are generally more interesting, Sam's or Revolution's? Do they feel different at all, or do they read the same either way?
-
Awesomesauce. I'd write up the next post, but... I'm not quite sure of what to do next. I guess Sam and Revolution are helping Nathan plan his next date now, but I'm unsure of who's going next in the Museum's main hall. Is it Joe's turn there?
-
Yes. Yes. This must become canon at once. I even know part of what she'll write.

"Hi there," the kid greeted happily. "I'm the Sandman, and this grumpus here is Fade. We have come from vast distances to ally ourselves with the mighty Lightwards. How fortunate we were met by someone who knows him. You can take us to him I hope?" "Of course," Aldo replied, giving his most fatherly smile. He met the kid's gaze and then glanced at the older Epic. Both the boy and the old man had the same grey eyes--given their respective ages, he guessed that they were grandfather and grandson. "Forgive me for butting in," interrupted the brightly dressed woman, "but who is this Lightwards? I have lived in this city for a while, and I have never heard of him." "Oh, you wouldn't have," said Aldo, twirling around and adjusting his smile to be more charming. "If Lightwards had lived here this whole time, you'd have seen quite a few more of his Warriors." Before he could continue, Backtrack took a few steps forward of his own, smiling at the female Epic and gesturing to the sky. "Take a look above your pretty little head, doll," Backtrack said with a slight drawl. "See that museum, floating in the sky all cool and majestic? That wasn't there till yesterday. Lightwards and his mates took it from the Epics there, and they've been sprucing it up ever since. And I should stress that this is all after two days of Lightwards being in town." Cricket folded her arms and glared at him. "You in love with this guy, are you?" Backtrack winked back at her. "Just building up to the best part. Lightwards is giving away free dinosaurs." Nathan stared at them with a look of incredulity. For a moment, Sam caught herself casting a glance over her shoulder to make sure Lightwards or Nighthound wasn't standing behind her. But whatever had surprised the guy seemed to fade from his mind. "I don't even know why she kissed me in the first place," he said flatly. Sam stared at him expectantly. "But I'm pretty sure she'd want to give all the zombies clown outfits, if she found out what we're doing. Conscript them into party duty or something like that," he added quickly, smiling a little. "But if we tell her he's making threats, she'll probably want to hear everything. So we'll have to make sure he's actually threatening us, if we want her to believe that side of it." That will be the easy part. "We should try and get him to say something whimsical or cute," Nathan continued. "So if she finds out what we're doing, we can tell her we were trying to get them to throw a party for her, or decorate the town in streamers, or something like that." His smile broadened. "Getting him to say anything halfway fun will be hard enough that she won't wonder why it's taken us so long." She laughed at that. "Well, getting Lightwards to threaten us will be a piece of cake." "He's already threatened to revoke our mouth privileges," Revolution added, smiling. "If we get Sam to do her impression where he can hear, he'll probably treat us to more of that charming creativity." "Consider it done," Sam said with a grin of her own. "Only..." She trailed off for a second, casting a glance to the distant Epics. "Nathan's right," she sighed. "Lightwards thinks he's a big deal, but he's just a puppet. Funtimes is the real empress, and I don't even know what Nighthound is." Revolution nodded thoughtfully. "We'll have to make sure they're all preoccupied when we make our get away. If they're like other Epics, they should start fighting their neighbors pretty quickly." "We'll get plenty of chances if they start fighting Altermind or CorpseMaker," Sam agreed. "We just need to get those recordings." She turned to Nathan. "Anything else on our agenda?"
-
I think the fact that we're all here is proof that none of us like sleeping.
-
Well, Lightwards' main concern is that Revolution will call him a leprechaun and embarrass him in front of his new allies. Maybe he'd consent to letting them in, on the condition that Funtimes tells them to keep their mouths shut?
-
Lightwards will attend in person, and will probably be bringing Aldo and Cricket. He'd be hesitant to bring Nighthound, but Lucentia is a possibility if Edgedancer wants to have a character present. Lightwards will probably have a small retinue of Warriors as well. I keep imagining it as after sunset, but realistically it could be any time. Please tell me Storage's power takes ten heartbeats to take effect.
