Shardcast: Skyward 3 Predictions

Chaos

Switching off from cosmere things, let's talk about Skyward 3! It won't be called Nowhere, but we'll still make some jokes about it. There's plenty to discuss for what could possibly happen in this book, so check it out!

This episode we have Eric (Chaos), Ian (Weiry), Shannon (Grey), and for the first time, Jessie (LadyLameness)!

If you want to see our last episode on Skyward stuff, check out our Starsight Reactions podcast: https://youtu.be/N0wrSGZ0G_Y

We also have some bonus content totally unrelated from the podcast, but there are Star Wars, MCU, and WandaVision talk that had nothing to do with this episode, and we cut it and put it on our Patreon. You can support us for as little as $1! https://www.patreon.com/17thshard

The fact that I dissolved into laughter a minute in does not bode well for my sleep schedule.  One might say that my self-control is going nowhere.

All jokes aside, this is really fun to listen to!

That llama looks incredible, by the way.  Now I really want to learn how to crochet.  My deer needs a friend.

Edit:  His name is pronounced Yorgen, not Jorgen?  How did I not realize that?

So yes, Detritus is interesting and definitely weird. But the rubble belt is not in my opinion. It's just manmade. I feel like I am the only person on the planet who remembers this quote.

From page 239 of Skyward:

"Are you ready for my analysis?" M-Bot said.
"That depends on how often it will mention mushrooms."
"Only once, I'm afraid. The thing you see looming overhead is around half of a C-137-KJM orbital shipyard with added delver training facility. I don't know exactly what that is, but I believe it must have been for manufacturing starships. There's no sign of the other half, but this chunk has probably been floating up there for centuries, judging by the low power output of those acclivity rings."

The shipyard has nowhere symbols because it's a delver training facility.

I've never been a part of anything like this, but I love all things Brandon Sanderson and I found your guys' podcast through Apple Podcasts. I really like all that you guys do (this episode made me so excited!!!) and I also had a 'hot take'. You mentioned that you thought delvers were an evolved version of something, and then proceeded to talk about how the taynix traveled through the Nowhere without calling the delvers attention. I have literally no evidence whatsoever, but what if the taynix are like baby delvers? Thanks!

*SPOLIERS*

How does everyone think the slugs will come into play? Or the purple alien? Or the fact that Spin is actually in the NOWHERE!?!

Jorgen and the Detritus people will create ships with hyper drives and start a war, collecting other humans along the way.
